"What are you thinking about?" "I'm thinking about a guy." Jun Mo stopped in the middle of a deep kiss and sighed. His lips began to form a smile, but his fierce glare said otherwise. Possessiveness and jealousy spread across his sculpted face. "Will you tell me his name?" His easygoing and languid voice reached her ears. "Why?" "So that I can kill him."
Seeing that, no one said anything more and watched as the mother and daughter entered Sai Huatuo Medical Clinic.
Inside the clinic, Qin Lily was dozing off. When Qin Huanzi saw someone come in, he quickly got up to greet them, "Are you here for a consultation?"
Qin Lily immediately woke up, "Is there a patient? Where?"
Aunt Zhang pushed her daughter forward and said, "Where is the doctor? My daughter Lanlan has been running a fever since this morning. Can you help her?"
Qin Lily took one look at the girl and already knew her condition, but she still pretended to take her pulse. Then she reassured Aunt Zhang, "Don't worry, Auntie. She must have caught a cold last night. A few doses of medicine will make her better."
She casually listed a few herbs, and Qin Huanzi quickly prepared and packaged the medicine.
Aunt Zhang looked at Qin Lily suspiciously, "Are you the doctor?"
Maybe it was because the young doctor seemed too young to have any medical skills.
Qin Lily didn't mind the skepticism at all, "Yes, Auntie. Here is your medicine. Please take it."
This was her first patient since opening the clinic. Although it was just a minor cold that didn't require using her special abilities, Qin Lily was still very happy. She not only waived the consultation and medicine fees but also gently patted Lanlan's head and softly said, "Your name is Lanlan, right? Take your medicine well, and you'll get better quickly."
Lanlan looked at Qin Lily with her big eyes. Perhaps sensing her kindness, she suddenly reached out and grabbed Qin Lily's finger.
Qin Lily then noticed that this little girl was very thin, her small hand was cold, and there was a hint of longing in her eyes as she looked at Qin Lily.
Qin Lily was startled, feeling as if Lanlan was silently pleading for her help.
"Help?"
"What does Lanlan want help with?"
Before Lily could ask, Aunt Zhang roughly yanked Lanlan's hand back. "No manners, who allowed you to grab randomly?"
Then she turned to Lily, "Thank you, doctor, but we have matters at home, we need to leave now."
Her words carried gratitude, but her eyes showed no sign of it, even some impatience, and she left with Lanlan.
Just before leaving, Lanlan turned back to look at Lily, her big eyes seemingly glistening with tears.
Lily instinctively took a step forward, saying, "Auntie, Lanlan is just a child, and now she has caught a cold. Please try not to scold her; it will help her recover faster."
Aunt Zhang paused briefly, leaving a quick "Got it." and hurried away.
Lily watched her drag Lanlan away without regard for whether Lanlan could keep up.
She sighed.
Qin Lumin noticed, "Chen'er, why are you sighing?"
Lily withdrew her gaze and said, "Just now, that mother and daughter..."
"Hmm? What about them?" Qin Lumin was busy with herbs and didn't pay attention.
Lily shook her head, "Forget it, it's nothing. If we talk too much about how others discipline their children, they might dislike us for it."
Perhaps it was a good start with that mother and daughter; after they left, a few more people came seeking medical help one after another.
They were all minor ailments, and Lily handled them easily, giving each a few patches of medicine without charging any money.
Grand opening promotion, free for the first three days!
There weren't many people anyway, so it didn't cost much.
But the fact that so few people came to see the doctor worried Qin Lumin about whether they could make their money back.
"Not many people are coming now," Lily comforted him. "But don't worry, brother, it will get better day by day. Today three came, tomorrow it will be five. Once the patients I've treated are cured, more people will come!"
Qin Lumin sighed, "You, not worried at all."
Lily shrugged, she was indeed not worried. If they ran out of money, she would simply take her brother and travel the world, catching ghosts everywhere. How could they not make a living?
The next day.
The five patients Qin Lumin had hoped for did not come, but instead, they were met with a farce.
The clinic had just opened when a middle-aged woman threw herself at the entrance, crying and wailing—
"You quack! Give me back my daughter's life! Give me back my daughter's life!"
Qin Lumin was stunned. "What's going on?"
Upon closer inspection, wasn't this Aunt Zhang who had brought her daughter for treatment yesterday?
Qin Lumin remembered her well because she was the first patient, besides Ni Yan, to visit their clinic since its opening.
"You're the lady from yesterday?"
Aunt Zhang threw herself at Qin Lumin, hitting and scratching him. "Bastard! It's you! Give me back my daughter's life! My Lanlan…my Lanlan was only eight years old! How could you bear to kill her…!"
Qin Lumin, still using a cane, almost fell over from her assault. He was caught in time by Lily, who came out after hearing the commotion.
"Speak if you must, but show some respect!" Lily's face darkened; her brother had almost fallen!
