From Madam President to the office worker

In the presidential secretariat, Head secretary Amanda glanced at Secretary Liu Jingjing and asked, "Did you find the German speaker? Secretary Liu, it can't be that you forget the task you took responsibility for. You had two days to notify the HR department for the post of polyglot but you didn't." 

"Secretary Amanda, I notified the HR department–" Liu Jingjing bit her lip and said in a soft voice. She had to admit that she was easily intimidated by the authoritative tone of the head secretary. 

She was Song Jingren's relative but here in the office, the head secretary or Special Assistant Lu never cared about it and gave her orders like they gave to other secretaries. She had a degree in business management but she didn't want to do the job of minor secretary here. However, since it was the only job her mom could pull strings to get her here to be close to the love of her life, she had to do it for love's sake. 

"Secretary Amanda, the HR department recruited a polyglot just now. They are sending her to our department, "Another secretary said and Liu Jingjing was saved from the wrath of the Head secretary who was too strict with everyone. 

Everyone knew that President Song trusted the head secretary a lot as both of them went to the same business school and when he started the company, Secretary Amanda was with him from the beginning. So, even if she was very hard on other secretaries, he never said a word. 

As Amanda turned her gaze to look at the polyglot they recruited, she blinked her eyes several times to make sure that she wasn't dreaming. 

"Hi, Sister Amanda, "Zuni whispered as she took a small step ahead. "Long time no see." 

"This is Long Reine and she would be working in our department, "Someone welcomed her with a round of applause. All of them were relieved by the entry of the polyglot. They felt as if they could be saved from the wrath of the head secretary. They just felt that Amanda was too strict on Liu Jingjing who was soft and delicate-spoken. 

"Don't blow my cover, "Zuni whispered again and Amanda removed the look of shock from her face and asked someone to show her the desk. She walked with a smile, completely ignoring a certain someone carrying the dark look and walked to her new desk. 

As she sat on her desk, a woman angrily marched to her desk and slapped on it. "What are you doing here, bitch?" 

"Oh, are you perhaps talking about yourself?" Zuni asked as she raised her brow provokingly at the little bitch in a tight little skirt. Why did she choose white formal pants and a pastel pink shirt to wear for her first day at job? Maybe, because she hated dresses and skirts as they weren't easy to use to hide her knife or gun. 

"I will throw you out of my cousin's company, "Liu Jingjing threatened her. 

"Go ahead, little baby, "Zuni said as if she was swatting a fly. "Don't you have to report to your Aunty too? I'm back in her son's life. Go go snitch on me."

What could this little girl do except for snitching on her to her mother-in-law?  Liu Jingjing was welcome to do it. 

Liu Jingjing marched out of there angrily and Zuni heard someone sighing behind her. As she turned her head, she found Amanda dressed in a black pantsuit. 

"Sister Amanda, do you know what's the secret to a happy married life?" Zuni inquired. 

Amanda raised her brow. 

"A dead mother-in-law, " Zuni said with a straight face. 

Amanda's lips twitched. "Your sense of humour is still the same. Deadly. I still like it." 

"Sister  Amanda, I like your dressing style, "Zuni said, offering her a Korean style heart. 

"You are still a mischievous devil, "Amanda sighed. "Beware of Liu Jingjing. She is not going to sit still."

Of course, Amanda was aware of the feelings that Liu Jingjing was harbouring about Song Jingren. The girl even followed him abroad. Too bad, his eyes were filled by his girlfriend back then. Never had Song Jingren ever given the girl a reason to be hung up on him, still, she wasn't ready to accept the fact that he was a married man now. 

When the rumoured President's wife sent an invitation to the President's birthday party, Liu Jingjing convinced the other co-workers in the department that the marriage news was only a rumour and prank that someone was playing. This was the reason why only a few people attended the party. 

Had these people attended the party, they would have seen the true Madam President!

"I'm Zuni Long. I will bite all the bitches barking my way, "Zuni smiled brightly at her. "Should I treat you to lunch?"

She was not very close to Amanda back then but their relationship was smooth. 

"And let everyone talk about how you bribed me to enter the department?" Amanda scoffed. "No, thank you. Focus on your work. By the way, I didn't know you had a degree in foreign languages."

Zuni only smiled mysteriously at her. Some secrets were meant to be secret only. 

"We have a meeting in two hours. This is the file that will help you understand business jargon well and all the best for your first performance, "Amanda said as she walked back to her office.
