Five Reasons

Heartbreaks. Tears. Depression. Move on. I make mistakes. I also get sick. I sometimes embarrass myself in front of my classmates. I never answered back to my parents. We live in a normal house, run a small store, and I have a normal love-hate relationship with my younger brother. I'm smart and talented. I easily learn lessons and help my classmates with some of their difficulties. As a matter of fact, I can say that I'm normal. However, things changed when I transferred. My heart raced for a person. The wrong person. The whole world would condemn us if we ever got together. I don't even know if that person would reciprocate my feelings. But I still fell. In the game of love, the first one who fall will lose. And I did. I fell. I fell. And I fell. ~~~ Disclaimer: The events in this story really happened in real life, except for some parts where the main character is not present. But those are supplemented by asking the point of view of those present. Names of the characters are edited to avoid shock and confusion from their perspective. But if they ever found out about this, we will have a long chat. Again, everything in the story is according to the point of view of the main character.

Reason 2: She Is A Very Talented Person (4)

Intramurals. Finally!

I can finally experience the Intramurals of this prestigious school!

And because I still don't know a lot of students from this school, I would always stick around with my older friend in Grade 12 STEM 3. She's Nang Gail.

She was the batch valedictorian in her days back at our old school until she transferred here when she's in Grade 11. And here I am, following her footsteps.

"Nang, huhuhu, my grades are so low," I whined to her and to her her that's also her classmate. But I still can't remember her name. We're still friends anyway even though I can't seem to remember. End of story.

"What did your parents say, girl?" Her friend asked. I really don't know her name. I might ask her next time.

"Nothing. But they scolded me when they saw that I have a line of 8 grade," I explained while pouting.

I felt that Jean grinned, as she often follows me around nowadays when I visits nang Gail and her friend in Grade 12 STEM 3.

"You should study harder, girl. You should stop wandering around the school until you reach our classroom. Gail, scold this child please, " wow. She feels like an older sister. Huhuhu. When can I get myself an older sister?

As the oldest child in the family, having an older sister would be the impossible. Unless one of my parents had an illegitimate daughter outside before I was born. Which is also utterly impossible. My parents married each other for five years before I was created.

I won't emote too much about my grades, but I knew myself too well. I'm the competitive type of person.

When I found out that the general average of my seatmate, the ice queen, it triggered the competitive side of me! I will do well next grading period! This is my promise to myself!

"Hais, Rae. Stop being over dramatic. What sport would you play this Intramurals, anyway? Is it still chess?" Nang Gail asked me. I nodded in confirmation.

Yup. Chess has been my sport since Grade 4. I started just to have fun until I got used to the boring game. Well, I just can't get rid of it in my system. Anywhere school I went, my parents would always encourage me to continue this sport.

"Rae! Are you really going to play chess of not? We're going to have a try outs to see who'll represent our grade," Ivy instantly got my attention.

Ivy is a chess player and an excellent student when it comes to Math. I played with her for a few times and we got along well.

And it's my habit to observe all of my classmates especially since I'm just a transferee. I need to be careful with my actions because I might piss someone important if I behaved rashly. I'm not really good at fighting people. Hais.

"We'll be going first. Looks like my classmate is looking for us already," I excused both myself and Jean from Nang Gail and her friend.

Jean followed me silently after she said her excuses to Nang Gail's friend. So they got along pretty well.

After we arrived in the room, we arranged the chess mat to play a game.

And what happens next is so predictable.

I won.

Ivy is a great player. I admit it. But I'm better.

I'm not bragging.

The Intramurals is approaching fast, and the practice and training of the students of my grade are getting more intense.

Sometimes, I would watch the cheer dancers. Yuri is one of the participants of cheer dance, and to be honest, she's a pretty good dancer. (We got close after 'the incident'.)

"The players, including you Rae, are very lucky. You won't need to participate in the cheer dance to get some free points from sir for PE because you are already players," she complained to me, while I was silently sipping my bottled orange juice.

Well, it's not my fault that I'm a chess player, right?

"Hey Rae, do you want to join us in playing basketball?" I was shocked when Nella, the Supreme Student Government Public Information Officer and the captain of the girl's basketball team of our grade, suddenly appeared out of nowhere.

I forgot to swallow my juice and some flowed out of my mouth, which I immediately wiped down. It's embarrassing.

She's also with Blessie, who noticed my little embarrassing act. She smirked, which made me blush.

I cursed a few times in my mind. It's not my habit to curse blatantly.

I immediately avoided her stare. Her deep dimples are showing because of her smirk, again!

"I'm already a player for Sepak and chess, Nella. I can't possibly play another sport," I explained. I looked at Nella and avoided staring straight at Blessie, lest my tough act would be blown away instantly by her smile and dimples.

"You need to learn how to manage your time efficiently, Rae. All of us here have more than one sport to participate in," the ice queen would not want to miss this chance to sass me. With her left eyebrow raised, she said those words full of contempt.

Tss.

Just thinking about how many hours I would spend sitting and thinking of ways to defeat the enemy in my sport drains my energy. I don't even know if I can play Sepak because my sport exhausts all my time.

"Alright. If that's what you want. But remember that you're always welcome to the team," Nella said before they left. Seems like they're going to train their entire team.
