Records And The Deal

After hearing the sweet voice, Alex opened his eyes and observe the surrounding. Everything is covered with darkness and there is a iron gate wrapped around by the chains, with the sign " The Gate of Abyss" .

The two statues standing in front of the gate. Alex thought,

"Looks like I am going to hell. Those statues looks like cemented and yet it looks alive."

He approached near one of the statues and observing carefully. Both of the statues are wearing armors of unidentified materials. One of the statue is holding a shield and a longsword. The other statue is holding a bone scythe attached with rusty chains.

" Hello! Anyone hears me?" Alex knocked the gate.

Suddenly the chains on the gate started to move and unwrapping slowly. The gate itself opened and Alex look inside from the entrance slowly.

"Come forth my child, don't be afraid."

Gentle voice yet full with aura , came from the chamber. Alex felt nervous for the first time and hesitate to enter the chamber.

One of the statue started to move and forced Alex to enter the chamber. As soon as he entered, the gate is shutting slowly itself. The way shutting itself looks like sealing the tomb.

Inside the chamber, there is a huge tomb surrounded by pillars. Over the tomb , there is an enormous throne setting with bones and chains. The path to the throne is set with black carpet. There is a woman , sitting like a Queen whose face is covered with dark cloth, wearing hood robe, colored by worn out black, holding a scythe made of another unidentified material. Alex shocked for a second and ask.

"Ahh, may I know who you are miss? And also where am I ?" Alex shouted.

"Kneel before me , lowly soul. "

Gently yet filled with death aura. Alex immediately kneeled before her.

"My master asked me to inform your arrival. She is now on her way back. While we were waiting, let's play some games, shall we?"

"I heard that your life records are pretty impressive for a mere lowly lifeform. I shall speak in honest, I despised you. I will not accept your appearance in forth of my lord. If you want to earn my acceptance, endure my one move. If you managed to endure it, I will let you serve my lord , but if you failed , I shall erase your existence from the record."

Alex think carefully and answer back.

"May I know why would I serve your lord? And why do I need your acceptance? Well honestly, I do afraid of your moves and aura , and I'm pretty sure that I would fail for sure, but from my observation, I do know one thing that you can't touch me or erase me without the lord's order."

"I will let this slide and pretend I do not hear anything when I met with the lord. Or if you are thinking about to harm me after I met with the lord, I bet you can't. Cause, I would report to the lord about this situation when he/she arrived."

"Hahahahaha" laughed with a sweet and lovely voice yet loudly. The light appeared from the back of the throne.

"I told you that soul is unique one and yet you doubted my order."

"I am sorry my lord. I was just testing out of curiosity. I do not have intentions of harming our guest. " Woman in black answered quickly.

"Now Now, let him enter my domain and don't forget to erase the illusion chamber. "

"Yes , my lord." And after that, the ray of light suddenly appeared from the tomb.

The chamber is started to tremble like its about to collapse. Alex looked over the gate to escape but felt in shocked. There is no gate like there wasn't one from the first place. Alex look for the being and can't find her anywhere. The chamber is starting to collapse and the giant block fall onto Alex. Alex covered himself with hands and closed his eyes in shock.

Suddenly, there are several cracks appeared like a broken mirror. Alex peeked out through arms and look around. There is big tree in the middle of huge grass field , surrounded by the rainbow mist and black sky filled with stars. The fireflies are everywhere around the tree. Alex felt relax for a second and approached near the tree.

Near the tree, there is a stream flowing with speed. The stream is covered with lights , similar to stars dipped inside the water. Behind the tree, there are white pillars and stone walking path. Everything is like an art work for Alex. Over the sixth pillar, there is a throne made with blocks, " Simple yet magnificent " thought by Alex. Beside the throne, there is a small garden, covered with butterflies and flowers. There is also a fountain, with a statue of unidentified man. Near the fountain, there is a woman wearing a black robe and white long dress. Wearing a glittering crown and her face is full with joy.

Alex looked carefully to the woman and felt admired in her beauty. Her hair is like a golden silk and her eyes are blue in colored. Her skin is like a pearl shining in the moonlight. Alex approached near the woman and asked her.

"Miss, May I ask where am I and who are you?"

The woman smiled at Alex and said with a gentle voice,

" Follow me , child "

She walks towards the throne and sit with an elegance. Alex followed her from the distance.

" Child, you passed my servant's test. How amusing and I will now announce my name. My name is Nephtys the Goddess of Death and I summoned your soul to make a contract. Well, not yet but you can say that as contract. Your life on earth is over and your body is starting to decay under the soil. Before forming a contract, I want to observe more about you."

" My father , the Creator, ordered me to transfer your soul to the destined planet. But I can't make it happen with force. You have two choices. You can refuse to reincarnate according to our plan or you can follow the path that was given."

" I will decide after hearing your plan." Alex answered.

"Very well. Our plan include rules and orders to maintain the balance of the system. Everything needs balance over system to control things. Your role is destined to be an apostle of gods and lead the certain lives in certain planet. Your new journey may full with harshness but your very existence can lead to new era. If you follow our plan, I can fulfill your one wish before reincarnation. If that is within my range, of course. "

Alex scratched his head and think deeply. He knows that this is one and only chance to walk a new journey with the god's backing. After 30 minutes, Alex finally decided.

" I will follow your plan. The wish you were mentioned earlier, I wish to recover the memories of my past lives. I assumed that I have my records according to earlier conversation with the woman in the chamber. "

Goddess smiled gently and says.

"Her name is Orcus, The Grim Reaper. She was in charge of your soul reaping. " Raised her and continued.

" You may now remember your records of existence and I , Goddess of Death Nephtys , hereby order the record of fireflies to grant the wish. "

Suddenly, the fireflies across the tree flew towards the Alex and entered into the body. Alex's body is covered with lights and mist.

"You may choose 2 suitable memories at most from thousands of them. Choose wisely and take your time."

Alex entered into the mirage of memories. He can clearly see his past lives and felt like real thing. In some lives, he lived happily, sadly , struggling , chaotically, wildlife, rich, poor , bloodshed and many more. Most of them died tragically, miserably, painfully, despair and heroic. He saw one life that he led the humanity against monsters and fought like a hero.

He who respected by humans, he who saved countless of lives and mourned for countless of death , he who protected the weak and led the strong to countless of battles was killed by the strong enemy in battle. Before he died , he was offered to be an apostle by stars to rule over the humans. The reason he turned down the offer was that he did not want to kill his own kinds.

Due to humans' nature, they are full with greed and betrayals. He did not wish to encounter that event after the revolution. He wished to die at the battle as a honourable hero. The stars did not understand his action and left him to death. After he died, most humans mourned his death and made his statue as a memorial. Some of the humans were awed in joy of his death. They did not want him to hold the power and they even decided to kill in battlefield. He knew that and chose to be killed by the enemy as a hero , not by betrayal. His name was " Eduard Delgado".

"I choose Eduard Delgado and Alex". Said by Alex.

" Wise choice. I shall grant your old powers and skills but not immediately. After you reincarnated , You will receive my blessing , development system. You can't receive your old powers immediately, that would overthrow the balance and you cannot handle properly yet. . You can learn yourself and environment through system and once you reached the certain level, you will be awakened and the system will disappeared."

"You can keep your earth's memory after reincarnated. That won't affect the system. Now, the time is up. You may enter the gate of reincarnation once you are ready."

The double gate suddenly appeared near the fountain.

" I'm ready." Alex answered with an excitement.
