You Have One Month
Kichi has a flashback of yesterday.
10th Hokage: There will be a chunin exam in 1 month.
Haru: YOUR ONLY GIVING US 1 MONTH WITH OUR KIDS BEFORE THEY CAN GO ON THEIR OWN MISSIONS WITHOUT US!
10th Hokage: YOU THINK THIS IS A PLAYGROUND! GENIN ISN'T ANYTHING SPECIAL! YOU WILL STILL BE DOING THEIR MISSIONS WHEN THEY ARE CHUNINS! YOU SPEAK TO ME LIKE THAT AGAIN, AND I'LL KILL YOU!
Haru: I would like to see you try.
Kichi takes her aside.
Kichi: Haru, yes you are strong. One problem. You have never seen the 10ths power.
Haru: Kichi, you know I trust you. Could I win?
Kichi: You would be slaughtered.
Haru: I won't fight him then.
Kichi: Good.
They turn back the Hokage.
Kichi: She was just mad that she couldn't get to really meet the kids first. She meant no disrespect, sir.
10th Hokage: I don't want to see it happen again! I will see you all in a month.

They all meet up.
Nanami: what's our first mission Kichi sensei.
Kichi: We will be walking dogs, picking weeds, doing laundry, yardwork. You know all the basic stuff.
Renjiro: Then what was the point of that epic battle we had together.
Kichi: all you man. You didn't have to do that.
Ray: *Snoring*
Renjiro: DAMMIT RAY!
Ray: HUH, WHAT PONIES! I'M AWAKE! What? We had to wake up early.
They zoom off doing a ton of chores. I mean ninja missions.

They do all the things Kichi listed, and more. All they do is basic chores that they would have been doing for their own houses. Now it's been 2 weeks, and they have 37 missions done.
Ray: THESE PAST 2 WEEKS HAVE BEEN SO BORING. COME ON KICHI SENSEI! LET'S DO SOMETHING COOL!
Nanami: I don't complain a lot, but these missions aren't exactly ninja-like sensei. Renjiro: Let me translate what she meant. WHY ARE WE DOING OTHER PEOPLES CHORES?!
Kichi: There is a very simple answer to that question. The chunin exams need you to have 10 missions done.
Renjiro: Then why did we do 37.
Kichi: what can I say I'm an overachiever. Anyway time for your first real mission.
