The Revelation

"Welcome home, honey," a shady-looking old man said.

"Who are you, and why are you calling me honey?" I responded.

"Sit down; he has something to say." I refused to sit down, and I analyzed the man carefully. This man did look like my mom. I checked the expression on mom's face, and I came to the conclusion that there's something big waiting to be dropped.

"Sit down, dear; I mean no harm," said the man. I sat down, and I started wondering what he had to say. "I am Zouzou." I immediately started laughing uncontrollably. "What, zouzou?" Hahaha, I laughed again. Mom gave me this look, and I immediately knew I had to stop.

"I am sorry, but who bears zouzou?" I asked".

"Your grandfather," he said. I looked at him with shock and surprise. I thought my grandparents were dead; why was he claiming to be my grandfather? I looked at my mom, who also wasn't saying anything, and then I decided to speak. "Grandfather, how come? My grandparents are dead," I said. "No, your grandmother is dead, not me; I am an immortal who fell in love with a mortal," Grandfather answered.

I looked at him excitedly, and I wanted to know more, but he did not say anything after that and just kept quiet.

"Grandpa, come on, continue the story," I said.

"That's for another time, dear; I came for a much more important mission; we have to save the fire descendants. Our enemies, the water descendants, have decided to go to war against us. We have to save us from this mess, and we can only do that through the chosen person," Grandpa said.

"Chosen person, then what are you doing wasting precious time here? Go look for him," I said.

"It's not him, but rather her, and that's why I am here."

"Ooh mom, you're the chosen person, and you're just telling your daughter now, so bad, mom, so bad," I said.

Mom looked at me and rolled her eyes; she surely knew that I knew Grandpa was referring to me. She looked disheartened for a while but later cheered up and asked, "Who cares for ice cream?".

"Me!" I shouted.

"Well, I can't join you girls; enjoy your ice cream, and I will be back tomorrow to speak to you. Have a lovely day," grandpa said.

"Can't you at least have dinner with us or just take ice cream?" mom asked.

"No, I can't; the water descendants know of the prophecy, and I'm very sure they are planning something evil. I must go to protect you girls," said Grandpa, leaving.

"Mom," I called.

"Yes, dear," mom answered.

"Am I really the chosen one, and what do you mean by you thinking you were the special child?"

"Hmm, my dear, my dad fell in love with a human, which led to his extinction from the Chizou's tribe; however, they accepted him back after the death of my mom. Being the only child of an immortal and a mortal, I thought I would be a special child, but I guess I am not," mom said with a lonely tone.

"Mom, you are a special child; you have always been that special someone to me, but mom, apart from saving the fire dynasty, are there any other roles of the chosen child?" I asked.

"Thanks, dear, and I don't know the answer to your question. When your grandfather comes tomorrow, make sure to ask him," mom answered.

"Alright, mom," I said. We both ate our ice cream and went to our various rooms. I sat on my bed and began to wonder what was in store for me tomorrow.
