When I woke up in another dimension, surrounded by nothingness and a ROB. I did not know I would be offered to quest around the multiverse to fix different problems or gain power. But we both knew the real reason; it was more than simply questing across the multiverse. It was my journey to become more and find my purpose. Entry 143:
Linus Ozias POV:
As we entered the fort after dealing with the skeletons, we found a woman with blond hair and blue eyes staring directly at me as she approached us. Mash whispered, "Ozias Senpai, that Jeanne D'Arc, but that should not be possible as she was burned at the stake a couple of days ago."
I nod as I already know how she is here, and the fact remains that she is a servant now and was somehow summoned right after her "death." A ruler class from what I am sensing, but she feels incomplete, which I attribute to the fact that there is no grail war for her to oversee.
Thus, her status as a ruler class is invalid, and she is essentially a servant who has no role, but still, she helps people even when she has burned away only a couple of days ago. Such purity and courage are extraordinary and deserve recognition.
But my thoughts are soon interrupted by the soon-to-be saint, who walks up to me and smiles as she addresses our group. "I would welcome all of you to the fort, but I was busy tending to the soldiers' wounds. Who are all of you, as you do not seem like nobles?"
I sigh as I state. "That Lady D'Arc is a rather difficult question to answer, but we are willing to fulfill your curiosity, but not here." Before I could continue, a loud roar pierces the sky as a soldier yells, "Wyverns incoming! Men to the wall!"
Jeanne then says, "As much as I wish to keep speaking with you, these wyverns will lay waste to the fort if nothing is done." We nod as I, along with Ritsuka and Mash, with Medusa still in Ritsuka's shadow, ascend the walls.
I then motioned to the men, "All of you stand back. It is time these wyverns be brought low."
I focus on my dragon slayer magic that, while rudimentary, is enough for these fake dragons, and in honor of a particular game series, I form lighting spears above my head, and one in my arm, with thunderous blasts, is sent into the clouds and as the soldiers look on in confusion a storm of lighting bolts rain down from the heavens.
Nearly every wyvern is disintegrated as the lighting pierces the others, and writhe in agony as the other soldiers look on in shock as I say, "As much as you would all like to stand here and observe the remaining wyverns must be eliminated, fire your crossbows!"
The men are roused from their stupor as they fire their crossbows, which are lined with dragon slayer aspects that stab into the dragons, and the rest are soon eliminated.
The men cheer in relief as no one is lost. The commander bows to me and says, "Lord Albert, we thank you for aiding us against the dragons, but what was that magic?" I nod as I say, "Rise, soldier, for there are no lords today, only victory, and regarding my magic, it is a form of miracle from god that I was gifted with to fell dragons."
The men clap as I say, "Let all those under the light be cleansed of illness and befoulment." My hand then glows a bright yellow color. The fort is repaired, and the injured soldiers return to peak health. Some who had lost limbs and other body parts cried for their good fortune.
One even said aloud, "Praise Lord Albert, the warrior of God!" The men began to clap and repeat the shout as I raised my hand to silence them. "I am no warrior of God but a simple man just like any of you. I just have some extra skills, but now that I have seen what has been wrought on this land, I'm afraid I must depart and find the source of this corruption."
One soldier then says, "The source of the corruption is already known, Lord Albert! The witch was revived by the Devil's work, Jeanne D' Arc. She calls herself that name in befoulment of the previous saint's actions. It is awful and an insult to the work the true Lady D' Arc has accomplished!"
I nod as I say, "Never fear the unknown in my countrymen, and know that I shall find the source of destruction along with my entourage, and it shall be purged."
The men then bid us farewell while I placed food and drink in their storehouses to last them a good while as Jeanne followed us into the woods near the fort. She asks, "Lord "Albert"? A good name, but I know the Albert family has no male heirs as of yet, so who are all of you?"
I smile as I return my suit to its usual look as the illusion on Mash and Ritsuka falls as I begin to explain, "Well, Lady Jeanne, we are from the time period of 2008 when a catastrophe occurred, and Humanity was incinerated and our future destroyed as of 2018 and we have traveled back through time to discover the changes in history that would lead to Humanities destruction."
Ritsuka then adds, "And to find a true French baguette, of course!" Mash sighs as she continues, "My name is Mash Kyrielight, and this is my delusional master, Ritsuka Fujimaru, and the other master, Linus Ozias."
Tamamo and Medusa then form themselves as Medusa says, "I am Medusa, and this is Tamamo No Mae. We are the servants of our masters and are here to find the change in history."
Mash then says in response, "It most likely has to do with that witch we heard about. Lady Jeanne, do you have any idea who it may be?"
Jeanne then says, "Please just call me Jeanne as I am not a noblewoman, and regarding the witch, I believe that she is me or another version of myself, possibly from a different time or place. But this grail war is odd."
I then say, "This is no grail war, Jeanne, as the servant summoned currently, is only a result of the grail's appearance in this time, and it is unable to truly grant wishes, and that may explain why this war is so odd."
Jeanne nods at me as she says, "That would explain a lot as my powers have been ranked down in my ruler class is not responding, and so I can't use my anti-servant command seals, nor can I discern the servant's true names. The only reason I'm even able to fight is because I'm on my home territory."
That does make sense, as any servant who stands upon their home territory automatically gains a buff. For example, if a Japanese servant were summoned to Japan, they would gain a buff relative to their nation.
Romani then comes over the comms as he says [If only we could access the Holy Grail records, there should be some examples of simultaneous summons, but there is one thing for sure: this timeline is utterly in shambles as the current King Charles the 7th is dead, and the fake Jeanne D' Arc has occupied Orleans. This is terrible as France was the first nation to declare human Liberty and equality, with many countries following suit and delaying this by a hundred years with stagnant civilization. Without the progress from the various revolutions, we would be stuck in the Middle Ages.]
We nod as Jeanne asks, "Is this some type of mage craft that allows you all to talk over long distances?" Honestly, the way she asks that is adorable. It's kind of like introducing someone who has never seen a phone before.
I nod as I explain, "Currently, we are using the systems available to us to communicate across time and allow us to speak to one another even over vast distances."
Romani then introduces himself [Oh, where am I matters? My name is Romani Archaman. Everyone just calls me Roman, and I do various support tasks for our team. It's an honor to meet one such as yourself.]
Jeanne then concludes one thing from that introduction: "I see! You are the dreamer type based on your name, Romani!"
Romani just sighs as I continue the explanation of the singularities, to which Jeanne says, "That is awful. It makes the worries I've been having seem so trivial." Mash then asks, "Are you referring to the large amount of wyverns flying around as I do not believe they were present in 15th century France."
Fou then puts his input in "Fou Kyu!" I nod as I say, "You're right, my friend. These beasts do not belong in this world, at least not yet." Jeanne chuckles as she says, "Do you understand this cute creature?"
"It's more like an instinctual understanding than a linguistic understanding." Jeanne then pets the Fou as he purrs and soon falls asleep. Jeanne then stops and says, "The person controlling the dragons must be the other version of myself, but I have no idea how she is doing it as I've never even thought or met a dragon in my life. The act of even summoning a dragon is the highest level of magecraft I've ever seen."
Tamamo then chimes in and says, "It is most likely the Holy Grail that is allowing the corrupted witch to summon her army of dragons, mikon." We nod as I pat the fox woman.
I said, "Our path is clear; take back Orleans and eliminate the other Jeanne and any others who stand in our way." The others nod as Jeanne sighs solemnly and says, "The Lord did not show me this path, but I cannot turn my back on my people."
I smile and say, "Who knows? Maybe the Lord is watching right now, and he is following along with our journey?" Jeanne smiles and says, "That is a nice thought to have, but even if I was alone, I would still give my life for this nation."
Even Medusa slightly smiles as Ritsuka says, "You really are as much a legend as I thought you were. She would immediately get a rabid fandom if we brought you to the present."
I nod, not wanting to think about Jeanne's many fans in my old world. Seeing what would happen if she appeared in real life is truly a terrifying thought. So I then ask the saint, "Will you join us and help correct this history?" I hold out my hand, and she takes it, but soon, her eyes show shock as she smiles.
"I will follow anyone willing to do the right thing, and especially all of you." I nod along with the rest of our group, but it seems like the universe does not want us to have a cordial time as more skeletons soon appear.
I ask the saint, "Will you join a contract with me as it may allow you to fight at full strength?"
The woman immediately replies excitedly, "It would be my honor, Lord Ozias!" I then retake her hand, and the contract is formed, and she glows in bright golden light as her full power is unlocked, even with the debuff of not having her ruler class simply being contracted to me, essentially removing that limit.
While she may not have her true name discernment or command seals, she is now a true heroic Spirit to be reckoned with, but before I jump into battle, Tamamo and Jeanne stop me and say, "It's time that we show you our strength, please enjoy the show."
I smile and stay behind with Ritsuka as Mash, Medusa, Tamamo, and Jeanne rush the skeletons with Medusa using her chains to wrap the skeletons into a group and Mash smashing them with her shield, which I infused with holy power.
Tamamo uses her seals and mirrors to reduce the enemy's stats, and soon enough, the skeletons can barely move, with Jeanne taking advantage of their weakness to slash and break them apart with her flag.
Soon enough, the skeletons are eliminated as Ritsuka shouts, "Good job everyone, high five!" She is then left hanging, but after a couple of minutes, I give her a high five, to which she almost cries.
Jeanne then smiles sadly as she says, "I am ashamed at my other selves actions as these people used to be innocent civilians that had never picked up a weapon in their lives, and while it brings me great sadness to destroy them, it must be done. It has only been a few days since I was burned at the stake, and now a massacre in Orleans. I can understand people being afraid of me, so we must find my other self and eliminate her so that history may run smoothly."
I place my hand on her shoulder and say, "It is all right. This was not you, simply another version or a perversion of you, but you are still allowed to feel compassion and empathy for those lost, but we cannot shame them by allowing their deaths to be in vain."
Jeanne regains her confidence and says, "Thank you for your words, Lord Ozias, but reaching Orleans will be slightly difficult as I'm unable to send servants due to the loss of my ruler class."
I simply smile as the sun sets on the horizon, and I tell the others, "We make camp here for the night, but may tomorrow bring us victory and the end to this suffering."
The others nod as we set up the various capsule houses, with Jeanne looking shocked at the technology on display, which causes me to chuckle and her to blush.
"It's all right to feel impressed as this technology is thousands of years ahead of what is even possible, and besides, seeing your astonished face makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside." Jeanne then pouts slightly and says, "I feel like I'm being bullied, Lord Ozias."
I laugh as I say, "It's all right, and besides, you'll get used to it eventually." But as I am about to enter my house with Tamamo taking first-night watch, Jeanne pulls me aside and says, "Lord Ozias, are you truly human?"
In response, I only say, "I am what many choose to believe in, and that is all." But instead of looking confused, the saint only smiles as if confirming a question she had and says, "Thank you for being here. It means much more than you will ever know."
I nod to the woman as I enter my home and begin working on improving my dragon slayer magics and weaponry because, thanks to my biology, I don't actually need to sleep for years.
And even now, I can feel my Kryptonian powers absorbing the sun's rays even at night, and while I could simply fly over to Orleans and pull a Madara and drop a meteor on it.
These singularities require the scalpel and not the hammer, and from what I remember, each servant we meet will be integral to the final battle.
I will make my own changes here and there, but due to the rigidness of that demon's plans, I have to be careful about what I change. I promise that every demon god will be slain, and none will return.
I then think back to the saint and smile as while seeing her through a screen is one thing, actually being in her presence is another as I can truly understand why men were willing to follow her, and while she may or may not have heard the voice of God such passion is difficult to ignore.
Who knows maybe I will be able to get her to come back with us as since she is already dead physically, she could follow us back to the facility. Maybe I should try to convince her?
