I Am Weak

It's been a few months since Sicarius had started training according to the old man's training regiment. Climb the 100 floors while defending himself from the girl, Venus.

At first Venus refused to move, and Sicarius had to carry her all the way to the top, but then the old man told her that if she wanted to stop training with Sicarius she had to beat him or atleast stop him from ascending the tower. Ever since then, Venus has tried many things to stop Sicarius from ascending.

She had tried wearing weighted clothes and letting Sicarius carry her until he was tired, yet he never tired. So she tried it again, but this time on the 99th floor she would take off her weights and challenge Sicarius to a fight. Despite her efforts she couldn't do anything but get flicked on the forehead.

It was only after she tried everything else did she actually attempt to battle Sicarius at the stairs every step of the way.

She would attack unceasingly like a wild boar enraged and yet the pressure was nonexistent, atleast, at the beginning.

The basic heroic child prodigy, just as Sicarius had expected, she learned fast. Slowly she increased the pressure that Sicarius had to defend against over time now that she was fighting repeatedly with him.

It seemed as if the endless times he had flicked her forehead started to get on her nerves and was now an inspiration for her to train harder. The better she became the better the training for him would be.

Sicarius had no problem giving her more inspiration as he once again evades a kick to the head and flicks Venus's forehead. Venus recoiled from the pain and it seemed as if she was about to collapse. However, instead of collapsing on the stairs as she usually does, she feigns a kick then stomps on the steps as she unleashed one final punch to Sicarius's private parts.

"TAKE THIS!" She yelled,

Sicarius simply jumped up the stairs. Venus having put all her energy on that one last punch, misses, and falls on the stairs due to momentum.

"You're learning to fight dirty." Sicarius muttered,

"If that's what it takes to beat you! I don't care!" The girl said through labored breaths, "Now carry me! You're not allowed to rest!"

Sicarius complied and carried her, not like a sack of potatoes, but in a piggyback this time.

Step by step Sicarius heaved the both of them towards the 100th floor. Neither of them spoke, he simply let Venus rest on his back. They have been going up and down the tower the whole day, although Sicarius had to do drills at the top while Venus rested, Venus wasn't the same as Sicarius.

She was a child, a true child, burdened with the responsibilities of a prodigy.

"Why are you training so hard, when you're already so strong?" Venus's tired voice broke the silence,

Sicarius kept silent as he climbed up the steps. If it was possible he would like to avoid talking with anyone if it wasn't neccessary.

"Hey! Don't ignore me!" Venus said, right next to his ears this time.

"You first," Sicarius replied,

Venus moaned in annoyance, Sicarius thought she let the question drop until she leaned her head on his back, "I train because I was born with potential."

Sicarius let the silence linger as the girl paused,

"Grandpops said that I had lots of potential to be very powerful." The little girl mumbled, "He said I was very talented and I should train everyday so I could reach status 8, so I train very hard. "

Sicarius remained silent. The girl was quite pitiful in a way. She carried the burden of the strong. Only the strong are meant to suffer, but that's just how it is. To be strong, suffering is required.

"Now how about you why do you want to be strong?" She asked,

"Because I am weak." Sicarius answered, a simple answer that was nothing but the truth.

"You're strong! Stop lying!" Venus yelled as she pinched Sicarius's ears.

"I was just born like this." Sicarius replied,

"Lies," Venus said, "No one is born strong. I was weak when I was a baby, but great grandpops made me work hard and now I'm strong."

She paused, "Then I met you."

Sicarius glanced at Venus from the corner of his eyes, "So what if you met me?"

"I don't know," she mumbled, "you're strong , so strong. You're the strongest boy I've ever met besides my great grandpops, and your my age."

"So what?" Sicarius asked, letting his steps reverberate through the stairway.

"I don't know," Venus answered, "I feel like I can't beat you ever, like training is useless as if I was weak."

"That's because you are." Sicarius said, followed by silence and after a minute, he heard sniffles.

"You're a meanie!" Venus said as she sobbed, Sicarius could feel the tears and snot on his back.

"Girl, we're all weak to someone stronger. You may be the strongest when you were beating kids our age but in my eyes, you are weak." Sicarius carried on with no expression on his face, "And I know in the eyes of people like your great grandfather I'm weak too. Thats just how it is. Only when no one can call you weak could you be called the strongest."

"I don't care about being the strongest I just wanna become stronger than you!" Venus said between sniffles. "I'll show you! You meanie! I'll beat you someday, I'll beat you so bad you look like Ruffus when I'm done with you!"

Sicarius shook his head and continued his climb to the top, the girl continued to hurl insults and threats at him as he carried her, however, soon enough all that shouting completely took up her energy.

Along the way Sicarius was suddenly blessed with an almost complete silence, except for the snorings of a young tired girl that lasted until Sicarius reached the very top.
