The Wasteland

Lilith's twin brother Maxwell hangs up the phone and slowly walks over to the slaughter. He again looks over the bloody mess searching for any sign of life, careful not to step on the remains of his fallen brothers or sisters.

He then noticed one set of boot prints coming from each side of the heavy army vehicle. Not being very smart Max pays no mind to the trails and it could have been some of the rotters that escaped after the team began firing. He then noticed Blake and Roy's dog tags lying on a pair of deceased corpses, he grabbed both tags and put them away.

"ATTENTION!!!" A stern and hardy emerges from the group of uniformed men and women. All the people in the squad stop and stand with straighted bodies.

"Now that the other two squad leaders are gone I will have to take control of their unit for the time being." The stern man says regretfully thinking of his deceased Conrads. He then urges everyone to get back in the amoured vehicles they then drive away one by one on the road, leaving the disturbing site behind.

After a few days of driving the convoy arrived at an old factory that appeared to be abandon. Metal fences lined with hostiles surrounded the old building, the old gate creaked as it opened allowing only the heavy trucks to enter. Inside the fence many other empty military trucks sat, as well as large crates ready to be transported.

Once entering the factory you are immediately scanned for signs of decomposing flesh taking over your living flesh. Through a set of large heavy double doors is the common rooms were most of the military personnel in the base spend their spare time, you can work out, train, read, socialize or practice survival tactics.

It was late at night Max was in the bed chambers he hadn't been able to fall asleep. So he went outside of the factory, still within the fence, for some fresh air. He was walking around checking out the area when he noticed a dark figure swaying in a shadowy corner. His first thought was to raise his gun in that direction, carefully watching the figure for any sudden moves.

Any soldier knew that in this world you need shoot first and ask questions later, infact that was common knowledge among everyone during the apocalypse. Maxwell didn't shoot though he had a strange feeling it wasnt a fear of this figure it was a sense of familiarity.

He slowly got closer until he finally put his weapon down. The creature reached out it's arms and without hesitation Maxwell allowed it to pull him away from the army base.
