Episode 9: Cancer

Mia walks briskly into the main building. She walks through the quiet large corridor. Her footsteps could be heard for some time but after a minute she walked a bit lighter to reduce the sound of her steps.

A few paces to the meeting hall, Mia hears echoes of someone laughing in the meeting hall. She shakes her head knowing who it was. She walks into the meeting hall with a calm and usual composure.

She ignores the two men sitting on the seats down the stairs that faced each other. She climbs the stairs and gets to her seat. She sits and stares at the two men who seemed to have been a bit frightened as they saw Mia come into the hall.

Liam excuses himself before leaving, letting the man and Mia speak privately. Mia waits until Liam is completely out of the hall before she speaks. “Why are you here?” Mia asked

“For the proposal, I asked for,” the man said less scared of Mia

“I said I would call you to come when I’m ready,” Mia said

“Yes but you said I should come today”
