Chapter 11

Kota woke up with a massive headache. Like bells were ringing non stop in his head. His body ached all over. His right hand was looped with bandages and moving it hurt so bad. There was a bottle of Advil and a glass of water on the night stand. He took a pill, downed it with the whole glass and laid back in bed.

The events that happened the other night came rushing back. He could remember having late lunch with Rai. They were having a good time when his former colleague suddenly came to ruin everything. He remembered getting angry, beating the shit out of him and then driving off to some bar and getting wasted. After that, nothing else but by the clean scent wafting all around him, he knew he was in Rai's bed again. Meaning the guy found him and took care of him.

He felt guilty and useless. Leaving him at the restaurant and making him clean up after his mess. That aside, he could recall Rai getting hurt because of him but what was that sudden burst of anger? As the guy kept talking, all he could remember were the looks of disgust and disappointment he saw on people's face whenever he passed by. And when Rai cried out in pain, he just lost it.

He felt like something just took over his body and he wasn't himself again. Fuck. Rai must be scared shitless of him now. He bet Rai was only helping him because he's Kyo's brother. I mean, who would take care of a man like him because he wants to?

After the headache had subsided, he stood up and went to freshen up. He didn't bother going to his room. He preferred Rai's oriental toiletries. Some smelled fresh and breezy. Like the sea. Others smelled like sandalwood which was calming. They always made him feel less troubled.

He brushed his teeth and took a shower. The bruises on his body were less prominent. He wasn't surprised. This wasn't the first time. He felt too lazy to go to his room and get some clothes so he went through Rai's closet and found a plain white shirt and sweatpants. He hoped Rai wouldn't mind. Besides, he has worn his clothes before. They were so comfy. Unlike all the designer clothing he had that he couldn't let go of even though they reminded him of things he was supposed to forget.

The shrill ringing of his phone snapped him out of his thoughts. The phone was on the night stand. He went and picked it up. The screen was cracked but it was still usable. The caller ID was that of a company he had applied for to work as an Art Director. He went for the interview and they said they would call him within two weeks. Excited and hopeful, he picked the call.

"Hello" he said.

"Good morning. Am I speaking to Mr Takahashi?" A lady asked. Her voice was warm. Maybe it's good news.

"Yes. This is he"

"Well Mr Takahashi, my name is Emily Webster from Studio Magic. This is regarding your application for the post of Art Director"

"Yes?"

She went silent for a few seconds and Kota's excitement plummeted to the ground. He knew what was coming next.

"I'm sorry Mr Takahashi but you will not be hired. Due to our research, there are some things about you that are hindering us from hiring you" "This is about the Parks isn't it?" Kota growled.

"I'm sorry Mr Takahashi" she said then hung up. Kota shouted angrily and threw the phone against the wall. It made a sickening crack sound then fell to the floor. It surely wouldn't survive this time.

"Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck!!!" He shouted as he stomped on the floor, trying to unleash his anger.

He was breathing hard, tears pooling in his eyes.

"Fuck you Park Do-yun! FUCK YOU!!" He screamed. He ruined his life. He completely ruined his entire life.

"Is everything okay?" he suddenly heard. His eyes widened. He had forgotten about Rai completely. Fuck. He turned to see Rai standing by the door way, looking at him with concern. Damn now he got the boy worried. What kind of person had he become? Rai deserved none of this. He was supposed to be doing what normal college students do not taking care of a man like him. Maybe he should force him to leave. That way, Rai would be free of having to witness his angry outbursts and drunken states. And also cleaning up after him.

"What the fuck do you want?!" Kota spat, glaring at him.

Rai was having breakfast downstairs with Maki when they heard Kota shouting so he decided to check on him.

He walked into the room cautiously. "Are you okay?"

"Get the fuck out!" Kota yelled.

Rai could feel tears threatening to spill. Was Kota truly this far gone? "Kota, what's wrong? Let me help you"

Kota's glare intensified. "Help me? I don't need your fucking help. Get out. Now!"

Rai refused. Instead, we went even closer. Kota looked miserable and his face was red due to rage. "I can help you Kota. You just have to tell me what's going on"

Kota laughed bitterly. Tell him? He wouldn't understand. No one will. "You really want to help me Rai?" he asked.

The boy nodded earnestly, bright eyes full of hope.

"Then get the fuck out. Not just this room. I mean the whole house. Fucking leave. Disappear!"

With each word, Rai's face went pale. Just when he thought he was making progress. Now Kota wants him to leave?

"Okay what's going on here?" A different voice interrupted. Both guys turned to see Maki in the room, standing with her arms folded.

Kota was shocked. He didn't know another person was in the house. Was she... Could she be Rai's girlfriend? No no. Rai never mentioned being taken. Or was he hiding the truth? No, he wouldn't hide something like that but the girl was gorgeous. Exactly the kind of person Rai would be going out with. Unlike him. Someone who's life was an entire mess.

"Did she sleep over?" he asked Rai. "I thought I said no sleepovers"
