Chapter 7 - Don't Underestimate Slimes

In the vast forest not far away from the country.

I Alex Ravens at the mere entrance of that forest.

Standing frozen while gazing at the light blue colored grass.

' er is that? ' right. that grass called potion grass.

' should i.... choose that one? ' I regretted not picking out the gathering potion grass for my first quest.

' oh well whatever, let's move on. I can just picked it once I finished this request '

" so slimes..... " yes. My first quest is defeating 5 slimes.

[ BEGINNER QUEST ]

* Defeat 5 Slimes *

Reward : 10 copper coins.

Info : Slimes have a core in the middle of their jelly like body, By destroying it and bringing it back to the guild. Well mark it as quest completed and you'll get the reward.

It's already 5 minutes passed since I entered this vast forest.

" a Death Forest " it's only natural for adventurer to get hunted while hunting.

Thus, they named it Death Forest.

While strolling the forest going deeper and deeper, I suddenly remembered something.

' status ' I called out my system.

" as expected " I already expected it.

' language comprehension ' the skill I got after I passed out.

' there's so much mysteries about my system ' I'm puzzled by how my system works. Gaining skill without doing anything is indeed weird.

' is my system perhaps.... something with an ego? ' I consider the fact that my system is a living being or something similar, because of it's unpredictable actions.

Having these thoughts. I finally find my target, and as if my luck hit the top there's five slimes bouncing together.

I prepared myself to fight, and I started to take up a fighting position.

A somewhat not very perfect boxing position.

I don't have any weapon to use nor any money to buy a weapon so by my own willpower, I entered the forest without bringing anything.

I regretted hunting without bringing a weapon instantly.

The five slimes noticed my presence and started to bounce towards me.

As if trying to intermediate me. Every bounce they make are getting stronger and stronger, and when they're close enough to hit me.

The last bounce of those slimes made the ground dent and leave a crack marked, And I thought.

' Ah.....I f*ck up '

I was defeated by slimes.

While my consciousness slowly fading the slime made a sound as if they're celebrating thier victory.

" kyuu~~ kyu~~ "

" kyuuuuu~ "

" kyuu~ kyuu~ kyuuu~~ "

The slimes are bouncing happily while making a cute sound.

1 hour passed.

" urgh... what? where? " I regained my consciousness and find myself in unfamiliar forest.

' oh right I was knock out by those five Slimes ' he's knocked out on the first hit by one of those slimes, the other four are missed.

' right I should just picked that potion grass gathering rather than hunting slimes... sigh ' I choose the hunting slimes because I thought gathering some grass are so bothersome.

' right I should become overly cautious when planning to hunt just like one of those adviced Reyna's told me ' I remembered what Reyna said while I was deciding what to pick.

" to overly cautious " I silently murmured.

' yep even slimes cannot be underestimated ' I thought I can easily defeat slime because of how those novel i read before. When the MC get transported and thier enemy is slimes, they easily defeat it.

' yep I was just overconfident ' I re-evaluate myself and reminded that be as cautious as ever and don't become overconfident.

I stand up and started finding something to use to defeat those slimes.

' although I said I'm going to overly cautious. I won't get back or ran away, I would return victorious ' I thought.

Thus, I found a perfect stick, grabbed it. started to move forward to find those slimes again while wearing a determined eyes and calm smile.

By the way.

That day Cedric and I talk. He give me a set of clothes to change. He said, I would attract so much attention if I would walk down the streets while wearing those unique clothes. thus, I accepted it, say my thanks, and get change after they leave.

That time a thought come to my mind.

' He's suspiciously prepared of everything..... and that's scary on it itself '
