If you hate it when ANY kind of nerf happens to the main character and any side characters, then you probably don’t want to read this. And if you hate it when characters make somewhat obvious mistakes in the heat of the moment, then again, this book is not for you. I do not own anything except my OC. Chapter 30

The amount of time Sirius spent in that library felt like decades to what was actually three years.

Two years of non-stop studying save for the occasional snack, it was akin to torture for Sirius. The worst part? These were merely the entry way to the true runic magecraft crafted by the Raven God Odin.

"Master. You're telling me that the 'runes' I have been learning for three years straight are just an old Scandinavian language that has runic properties?"

"Yes and no. The time spent learning this language, and how to properly use it in magecraft, were needed so that your understanding of the runes could be processed much faster."

Sirius sucked in a breath to stop a volcano from erupting that would get him bleeding out on the floor. "So how long will it take me to learn the runes now?"

Scathatch rubbed in her chin in thought before answering. "About a month give or take. Then I can commence the ritual to gift you the runes with Odin's approval." She scowled at the end, showing her immense disgust in the gods.

The time spent in the realm given for Sirius's training was soon coming to a close. The temporal shift summoned by Alaya was about to run out, marking the time that Sirius would venture out to reforge his Arcane with the Six Sub-Bells.

The runic magecraft created by Odin was awe inspiring. The things that Sirius learned from before helped immensely with comprehending each words. Only problem was, was that Sirius was only able to get the chance to obtain eighteen primordial runes.

Runes crafted by Odin. Sirius didn't care that couldn't have all, but instead focused on the runes built for supporting his other magecraft and magic instead. After all, Scathatch built Gae Bolg with the help of runes.

Imagine what Sirius could do for Arcane given the right environment and tools? He would soon stomp Oberon into the ground.

...

A massive fire was blooming outside of Scathatch's castle as she prepped herself for the gifting of the primordial runes she was going to give to her student. Sirius was a.....curious sort. He had a knack for asking why and how a bit too much.

And the boy was obsessed with magic. The language she taught him from before was already being tested on his 'alchemy', giving Sirius the ability to direct his transmutations.

Once the fire and offerings were burning Scathatch called out her student and made him bare his upper body, showing his back to her. She prayed and painted eighteen primordial runes upon Sirius's back, riddling it with tattoos.

They glowed a soft blue before disappearing. However, some complications occurred along the way.

A rift in space was made and a man adorning a eyepatch and blue robes appeared in the sky. The Land of Shadows shook as the faded man looked around, his longer presence maki everything worse.

Then Sirius caught his eye, and he chuckled. "Ha....A little far from home aren't you, Wilhelm?" Odin laughed and Scathatch readied her spear, ready to throw down with the Aesir king at any moment.

Sirius on the other hand was completely lost in the situation. 'Odin. What the fuck is he doing here? Isn't he dead? And what the fuck does he mean I'm 'far from home', Does he know me?

Questions spun in his head with no answers as Odin's form soon faded away, back to the reverse side of the world. Sirius turned to Scathatch. "So I'm guessing that meeting the chief god of the Aesir was not supposed to happen hmmm?"

She shook her head. "He is dead, merely a spectral remnant drifting on the reverse side of the world, but him showing up here means that something special happened with the ritual."

"And the fact that he knew of me? I don't seem to able to recall meeting Aesir on my travels across Britain."

"He is a god of wisdom and given the fact that his Vanir Seiðr magic makes him omniscient, it's not surprising. It just means that your actions and or your future actions caught his attention...or what's left anyway."

The duo had eleven months left for Scathatch to teach whatever she had left to her student.

Sirius was now able to match her spear with his sword without her holding back, and was able to use transmutation to it's utmost limits, even making transfiguration happen given the right circumstances.

All in all, Sirius was a lot stronger than he was when he first entered the Land of Shadows. But the ending to this duo will not be a happy one.

...

Morgana sat in her workshop concocting witchcraft to prepare her for the eventual attack she will do to Vivian so that she could regain her full power. What she didn't know however was that she was being help by the white haired backstabber himself, Merlin.

His grander goal of preserving humanity and pushing Britain into greatness meant that there would be some sacrifices along the way, i.e. Vivian, Sirius, and the whole of the roundtable, but it was for the whole. Merlin would sacrifice any pawn needed to win the game.

'Just need to make sure that the bounded field will work property, extending the time of Vivian forest so that when Morgana is finished, I can recreate the scene of the fight to make it look like Vivian was attacked by Oberon. Only problem is that Oberon is invisible to my clairvoyancy, only reason I know is because of the talk with Alaya.'

Merlin went over his plan and reconstructed his bounded field, making sure it would be good enough to hold Vivian long enough for Morgana to absorb her. Thus giving Britain a new card they can play, at least in Merlin's mind.

Vivian was a fairy, she honestly didn't care about humanity save for some. However she became infatuated with Sirius, which was a big no no to Merlin's original plan. Originally he was gonna have Sirius die for Artoria and with his death bring the downfall of Camelot.

This is all ordained to destroy the mystery of the isles. After all, it's the Age of Man now, the Age of Humanity prosperous time. Merlin was just going about the long game, it's why he needed Vortigern dead so much since he was doing the opposite.

Soon, soon everything would come to plan and he would preserve humanity. Nothing could go wrong at this point...right?
