The biggest question at the end of the day is, will the past Change? ————————— Before you read, I have two tiny warnings to give. If you hate it when ANY kind of nerf happens to the main character and any side characters, then you probably don’t want to read this. And if you hate it when characters make somewhat obvious mistakes in the heat of the moment, then again, this book is not for you. I do not own anything except my OC. Chapter 11

"Such interesting creations. I wonder who built them?"

"Sirius you can look into that later, lets go help the others in battle...."

Artoria dragged Sirius away from the automatons, who was trying his damndest to break free. "But Gawain has already dealt with the enemy, there's no need to stop me from looking into it!"

"Still we must check on them, you can research these thing's later-"

The automatons started glowing and Sirius entire attitude changed. He grabbed Artoria and displaced the space between the other side of the hallway and where they were standing allowing the two to instantly travel the distance.

Then he put his hands on the ground sealing the hallway with numerous metal walls that very thick. "Artoria run!"

The two booked it just as the explosion went off vaporizing many of the walls that stood in between them. Just as they were about to be vaporized, Sirius's magic crest glowed and he grabbed Artoria vanishing from the scene.

Merlin was currently watching the fortress looking for sign of Sirius and Artoria but finding nothing. That's when he felt it, the mana in the atmosphere shifted, making up space in the vacuum that was created in the fortress.

'What's happening?!'

Morgan on the other hand was wondering the same thing. 'The bomb wasn't designed to do that!'

To the two experienced mages, it felt like a hole had opened in the very fabric of reality, as if someone had just decided to rip it away from everything else.

An expanse spanning an infinite amount of universes and multiverses. Sirius's eyes were glazed over as he started to use the magic hidden in the crest.

He 'perceived' himself away from the world with Artoria which led them here. Then he did the same process over again to get back to world they had just escaped from. What he didn't know was that this incomplete true magic had a vacuum effect on the universes in their multiverse.

Pulling thing's into their worldline that had no business being there in the first place.

FWOOSH

The duo fell face first into the ground after coming back from the effects of the magic. Sirius had regained their clarity, making him baffled at the current scene.

Gone was the stone fortress. All that was left was scorched ground, ground that was so hot so of it melted into lava.

"Hot damn that was close!"

'Sigh....maybe I should prioritize changing Arcane into a staff faster than I thought...…If I had the staff that I wanted I would have been able to convert the incoming shockwave into something harmless.....Though I did get to find out that the crest has true magic stored in it. I have to study it, maybe it might lead me to the root!'

Sirius wasn't in control of his body at the time but he was watching, observing the actions the crest did with his body. Instead of being scared by the body take over he was happy he was alive to begin with!

"Ugh....Sirius? What happened?"

"I.....don't really know to be honest....."

He couldn't let Artoria know. He trusted her with his life but she trusted Merlin too, who which he did not trust at all. He knew Merlin was someone who could throw you down the gutter if it meant a better outcome and he wanted no part in Merlin finding out about the amount of power that Sirius might be able to tap into.

"Your highness, Sirius! Thank the lord you are alright!" Bedivere rushed to the two with a joyous smile on his face.

"I told you they weren't dead, especially his highness! I mean what kind of king would allow themselves and their subordinates to be killed." Gawain declared pompously.

"Gawain shut up right now."

"Yes Sir Sirius!"

Gawain straightened and dreaded the horrible mood Sirius was in. A horrible mood meant he was going to be used as either a guinea pig or a sparring partner. Both were not good outcomes for Gawain.

Merlin walked up to the four checking on their conditions before questioning them on what happened. "Your highness do you know what happened? It felt like a hole in reality just appeared and disappeared."

Artoria shook her head and Sirius matched the same action, not wanting to show his potential capabilities. Then they were hauled back to camp where they were given check ups one last time.

Outside camp Sirius could be seen setting up multiple bounded fields to displace his position and alert him of anyone in the vicinity. Clapping hands together he got to work.

When he took out Arcane he smiled sadly. "Damnit Vivian I'm happy you got me a divine construct but why couldn't it be a staff! I know my years to sword would go to waste but damnit it's magic, I have always been better with magic!"

Sirius once again vowed to recreate Arcane into a staff so that he could empower the mysteries behind his spells. He would go through an upheaval in strength with that!

"Now then time to do some test~"

Then he raised Arcane into the air and flared it's power. He first tried transmuting the air into a solid, it took a few tries, but with the help of Arcane as a conduit he was able to convert the air into a solid or liquid.

This was ground breaking. he could create vacuums of air where people wouldn't be able to breath, he hypothesized that he could even use this connection to other things touching the air like the earth or fire and water.

And that's the first thing he did.

"Holy cow....."

A fire exploded a few meters away even though the only things he used was his connection to the air, and this time he used his ode and not the surrounding mana. Meaning that as long as he has ode he will be able to transmute from distances.

"Okay two more things then its off to bed."

This was another thing he thought of back when he caused the flesh of those wyverns to change. Human transmutation.

The ability to change the body as you see fit, as long as you don't kill yourself in the process. Sirius put his hands on his head and transmutated his neural pathways allowing him to think faster and multitask.

"Holy fuck this weird....."

He felt like he was in two places at once, his brain seem to have two different 'rooms' of though while both rooms were occupied by the same person.

Then sighed and prepared the last thing. He sent one of the 'rooms' into the crest, and with his thought acceleration he was able to understand some of the things about the incomplete true magic.

"Perception. I could theoretically hide a person from the world or hide myself from a weapon then it wouldn't hit, theoretically. Of course that's only if I had the full thing, which would only possible if I personally went through the root."

Pulling his 'room' out of the crest and realigning his neural network, Sirius felt absolutely astatic at the potential future he had.

The one thing Sirius didn't account for was the effects the incomplete magic would have on the worldline. This would lead to one of the places in Britain giving birth to a being so terrifying a god had to suppress it's true power.

But this is in the future nothing to worry about for now~
