If you hate it when ANY kind of nerf happens to the main character and any side characters, then you probably don’t want to read this. And if you hate it when characters make somewhat obvious mistakes in the heat of the moment, then again, this book is not for you. I do not own anything except my OC. Chapter 10

"You do know that this is a terrible idea right, Your Majesty, it is a terrible idea." Sirius was currently being loaded with Artoria beside him into a....catapult.

Merlin chuckled at Sirius's actions. "It'll be fine, you're overreacting! Nothing bad could possibly happen!"

"That's raising a fucking flag you piece of-" Sirius was interrupted by Artoria placing her hand over his mouth and restraining Sirius from attacking Merlin.

"Merlin I believe it would be in your best interest to launch us while I hold Sirius down before he starts attacking you." She said with an almost emotionless face if one couldn't catch the faint twitch at the end of her lips.

Kay just shook his head at the twos antics. They were the two most powerful knights in their band and two of the most powerful people if one doesn't include Merlin. Merlin just doesn't take anything seriously and mostly observes like he did with Sirius when he told him to eradicate a bandit camp their first day together.

"Merlin so help me god once I get my hands on you-" Then Sirius was swooshed away via catapult while being held down by Artoria.

"Holy cow they went high." Gawain said as watched the two climb in the air and slowly fall back down into the fortress of bandits and wyverns. Then Gawain turned back to the band and shouted. "Come! Let us show those bandits who the Knights Of The Roundtable truly are!"

""""HOOORAAA!!!""""

"Fffffffuuuuuuuuuucccccccckkkkkkk mmmmmmmeeeeeee!"

The duo flew high in the sky. Their target was a tower on the north side of the fortress. Just as they were about to crash into the towers wall, Sirius touched and transmuted the wall to open and softened the floor so their landing wouldn't make any noise.

Artoria patted off any dust they had accumulated from the landing and looked at Sirius. "See, not so bad now is it Sirius?"

Sirius glared at her as he stood, legs shaking, and walked away. Artoria shook her head with a smile. "Do you even know where you're going?"

"There's a staircase that goes below the tower, I found five wyverns sitting their nest."

Artoria nodded as the two made their way downstairs. However the tower they were in was heavily occupied with bandits, bandits that Sirius did not want to waste time on.

"This is so bizarre....." She said as they walked through the crowd of people, completely unseen by any of them.

Sirius nodded. "Displacement is pretty weird when you actually use it that's for sure...." Sirius had 'displaced' the light around them allowing them to walk unseen as long as they don't bump into anyone, which was laughable for two knights.

When they made it to the nest, Sirius took out Arcane and thrusted it into the ground. "Sigh, I wish Vivian would have just given me a staff. Would have made my spells so much easier to cast."

Artoria looked at him weirdly. "You're complaining about getting a Divine Construct?"

"It's just I'm more of a mage than I am a swordsman."

"That's true....."

The ground glowed and Sirius used his magecraft to cause spears of metal to pierce through the chest of two of the wyverns that were still laying on the ground. Once the spears made contact with the wyverns blood, it glowed again converting the blood into a solid, instantly killing the beasts.

Artoria rushed in while this was going on with a glowing Caliburn.

Artoria's Caliburn started to heat up fiercely and she thrusted her sword at the closest wyverns eye, completely burying her sword in its head, destroying its brain, killing the beast.

However when she wasn't looking a wyvern came behind and swung its tail knocking her through several walls while Sirius dealt with one wyvern, now he has to deal with two.

"Damnit, nothing could possibly go wrong I'm Merlin I'm the flowery wizard~"

Sirius struck the wyvern, causing it to stall for a second letting Sirius stick his hand into the wound transmuting the blood into solid, same as the first two. "I have got to put more work into non contact transmutation, this shit is really irritating...."

Then he ducked, avoiding a fire breath from behind, and jumped up. That's when he got an idea. He surged the mana in the atmosphere and caused the air around the wyvern to combust, making the wyvern explode.

"There all done!"

"Don't you need to touch things to transmute them?" Artoria questioned from the side.

"Usually I would but I transmuted the air around which is in contact with the air below. That I used to cause the explosions, though now it is kind of hard to breath. Lets get back to the battle-"

Artoria parried a an attack that was coming from behind him. When turned around he found an automaton standing there menacingly.

"Well now there's a con I just found out by using that technique. It uses up all the surrounding mana in the atmosphere, which led to me being snuck up on, umu!"

Sirius nodded his head as he took out a notebook to write it down as Artoria fought off the automaton. "Sirius get your ass over here and help me!" Another one came out of the woodworks leaving the two busy for a bit longer.

Outside in the plaza with Gawain and co.

It was a bloodbath of flesh and metal. Gawain led the soldiers and knights bravely, not letting up for a single second. Bedivere was at his back cutting down anyone who thought they could harm Gawain while he was occupied. Kay was with the back lines guaranteeing any inured soldiers survival and Merlin was currently in a tent atop the hill with Morgan watching the battle intently.

"Kill them!"

That's when a robust feeling of bloodlust assaulted the field. Gawain cut down the bandit he was fighting and looked in the direction the bloodlust was emanating from. What he saw was a large shirtless man littered with tattoos with long braided blond hair and an enormous blond beard.

The bandits muscles were unreal and it gave off such a threating feeling that Gawain almost faltered in his step. The shout stopped all fighting on the battle field as anyone who was currently fighting, sacring the shit out of all the regular peasant soldiers.

Then the blond behemoth pointed at Gawain with his long axe, grinning madly. "You! You are Gawain, The Knight of The Sun, are you not?"

Gawain nodded. "That is I. Who asks of me?"

"Me. I challenge you to a dual and If you lose than you will surrender to me. If you beat me than my band will stop its attacks and surrender to you peacefully." The man spoke that last word with such disgust that Gawain thought the man might puke.

"I accept your conditions." Being the impersonator of the king gave Gawain a lot of benefits. Bedivere and Kay were worried, while Merlin smiled at this development, Morgan was indifferent to everything that was happening.

Soon they got into a ring of people and commenced their battle. The blond mans axe was fast and strong making Gawain's sword wain in distress at the pressure being brought upon it. But Gawain is under Artoria who has Sirius under her and Sirius was dammed if he was going to just let anyone join the roundtable.

Gawain adapted easily and redirected each strike away from him towards the ground so that each time the man got the axe stuck, Gawain could get a chance to strike him. But the man knew what Gawain was doing and instead of prying his axe from the ground he instead let go of it and tackled Gawain off his feet.

Socking Gawain across the face time and again in a craze forgetting about the sword in Gawain's hand which soon buried itself in the mans chest piercing through his heart.

"Cough!"

Blood splattered across Gawain's face and he lifted the man off of him, standing up with his slightly swollen face and pointing his sword at his defeated enemy. "As agreed upon surrender peacefully."

The blond mans face slowly started shifting into a grin and he took out a wooden sculpture. "....The witch did say that if I couldn't take you down I should use this when I know that your 'king' is inside the nest."

Then he stood up, slowly. "You. Gawain, knight of the roundtable are a strong man, but can your strength beat this?" Then he crushed the sculpture, witch made alarm bells ring in Gawain's head.

"Fall back!" The soldiers didn't think twice and ran.
