Chapter 3: Get Down Mr. President!

So...

[ Open {Beginners Gift} ?]

What the actual fuck?

No... I guess this isn't too out of the ordinary considering what happened to me. Yes, first I get transmigrated into a game I barely play and now I awaken a system.

Eh, considering how Nasuverse treats absurd experiences by giving them some weird ass powers this shouldn't be too out of the ordinary. Honestly, considering I 100% died shouldn't I have some nifty broken Mystic Eyes? At least I am pretty sure that's how you get Mystic Eyes of Death Perception.

Well, before complaining I should check out what this "Beginners Gift" is. I have read enough novels to have high hopes about this but have experienced enough instances of my own luck or lack thereof to keep my expectations grounded.

But please, just give me something to somehow let me understand my current situation and what to do in a mobile game set in fucking Fate of all things. That's all I ask for, nothing big right?

Alright, open it.

Thankfully this thing seemed to go by thought rather than speaking out loud which I was grateful for.

[Opening Beginner's Gift...]

[Awakening Mystic Eyes...]

Pain.

It felt like a red hot rod of metal was shoved into both of my eyes. I grit my teeth with enough force to bend metal in order not to scream out in pain. That had to be one of the worst pains I have ever experienced in my life. Writhing in pain I dropped out of the bed.

I grabbed around for something to pull myself up from the ground. Gripping the corner of the desk I braced myself against it and laboriously opened my eyes which felt like they were burning moments ago.

Green.

Why is everything here green?

It felt like there was only one colour left wherever I looked. I don't know, is this because my eye got permanently damaged or something? Am I colourblind now? Because everything in my shade was a shade of green at the moment.

No, think about this more clearly. That's clearly wrong. It said I awakened my "Mystic Eyes". So what do my "Mystic Eyes" do that makes me everything in green?

I assume my system has the answer. Does this thing have a status or something?

'Status.'

Yep, as I called out internally another translucent screen was pulled up, incidentally it was the only thing in my vision that wasn't green. Internally holding in the twinge of excitement I had over actually possessing a system(A system! Like a game!) I scrolled through it and my gaped wide open at the entry under my abilities.

'Isn't this... A jackpot...?'

I recognized this ability from one that one novel I read before. And if I was correct(judging by that EX I probably am) this was absolutely the kind of thing I was looking for. In fact, for someone like me, it was probably even better the {Mystic Eyes of Death Perception}.

Mentally commanded to inspect it, the ability's description was revealed.

This is precisely the kind of I needed to survive... whatever this was. I know for sure Fate is a dangerous world with vampires and whatever world-ender 9000 was going to visit the planet at any given moment. And I know for a fact Fate Grand Order will most likely be worse. If those skeletons, servants, dragons, trolls and whatever other flavours of enemies I fought while playing the game have anything to say.

But while I may know how this cheat ability works I shouldn't assume too much. Especially with the last 3 colours. I don't have an idea of what they could be considering how wildly the rules between where 9 Eyes comes from and Fate.

Putting aside the fact that I just got an ability from another different world after transmigrating to a completely different one...

This must have an off switch, right? Because I can feel it draining my... mana I think? At a steady pace, and while I don't know what happens when you run out of mana I don't want to find out. And I have a feeling my mana will be awfully valuable soon.

Alright, magic in Fate usually relies on magic circuits if I remember correctly. I could ask someone to help me with my eyes but this is Fate, chances are they would place me under intense scrutiny and worst case they dissect me.

The mages or magus they are called in this world are more ruthless amoral sadistic pompous scientists than traditional magicians unfortunately. And I don't want to be dissected just yet.

Alright, just remember how magic circuits worked. They are circuits in your body that convert your life force to mana and allow you to cast spells and stuff. And you activate and de-activate them with mental switches.

I should be able to apply the same concept to my eyes. Closing my eyes I concentrated on a mental switch to turn it on and off. And a moment after I opened my eyes the world had turned back to normal. That was good. And right after I turned it on and off the world flickered between green and normal, that was good, I had good control over my abilities.

As if this huge news of an ability was not enough my system dropped another bombshell on me.

That is... very descriptive, isn't it? Well, it is an EX ranked skill so it cannot be bad. Well, I say that but there is also [Madness Enhancement (EX)] and that makes you literally insane which is bad. So perhaps I am not the best judge of things.

After all, I just got here.

Anyway, the point is I have started with two EX-ranked skills. Which is really scary to me. Why?

This is the beginner's gift.

What kind of hell must await them if you need to give a beginner all of this?

Regardless trying to get a handle on my powers. There was an extra function of these eyes, and that was with the colour of green [General Observation] which should allow me to bring up the status page of targets like I can bring up mine.

I picked up a fountain pen lying on the glass table next to my bed and activated Nine Eyes again. Focusing on using General Observation

I did not have much, or well, any time to experiment with my powers before someone knocked on my door. I hobbled over and opened it to see Roman standing behind it with a flustered expression.

"Ah, thank god you are awake. The director personally sent me to fetch you for the first mission, we better hurry, she is already more than a bit angry at you for missing the briefing." Ah, not even a moment to regain my bearings huh? Well, I know some things are about to burn and explode so I should be wary. But regardless I nodded, following after Roman as we powerwalked down to the mission control room.

While we were in the elevator Roman turned to me and awkwardly scratched the back of his head.

"I'm sorry about all of this, I know it must be a bit stressful to have to go through a rayshift without even knowing about anything but don't worry, even if the director may throw you to the lions your fellow masters should show you the ropes if you ask them to. Don't worry, if you are too stressed I will be sure to anaesthetize you, that's always an option." I was very grateful for his consideration but it did not help prevent me from clenching my sphincter tight enough to crush diamonds from how nervous I was.

Well, this may be the last chance I have to test my abilities before shit goes tits up so I may as well test them on Roman. I activated my eyes and saw that Roman was colourless, most likely he was gold which from what I remember stood for a golden opportunity. Regardless of what colour he was however I could still use the colour green of general observation to see his status.

Or not, apparently. Fuck me I guess. Because nothing appeared when I did. Does it not work on people? I remember it being able to. Whatever, I can test it more later when I get the chance.

We quickly arrived here, a large room with a big ass platform under a giant holographic earth, it was straight out of a sci-fi movie. And the moment we entered immediately the piercing gaze of a beautiful woman landed on me, I noted that Mash was also next to her holding the enigmatic creature known as Fou. All the while Roman quietly skulked out to avoid getting chewed out.

I know I am skilled at pissing off women but ain't this a bit too much?

A young woman with long white hair and golden-amber eyes, appearing to be around the age of twenty-two to twenty-three, slightly older than me. She wore an intricate black and gold blazer over a white skirt and shirt combo she also wore red leggings along with black heels under it.

Damn, she is totally my type.

Not that that says much mind you. My preferences for a romantic partner are 1 - Alive(preferably) 2 - Female(preferably).

My standards are... very low.

From her commanding presence, I could immediately tell she was the director and that I had pissed her off somehow. She tapped her wrist a few times before a hologram with my face appeared before she frowned and pointed at me.

"Noah White! Where is your uniform!?" I just shrugged my shoulders.

"I don't know. I just woke up and barely know where I am." This earned quite a few sneers from the master candidates present, as well as scorn apparently. I wonder who put that stick so far up their asses. The director's eyebrows twitched uncontrollably before she huffed angrily.

"I will be sure to punish you for this later on. For now, just go to your coffin, it's the 48th one." At that moment, I got a very weird feeling, a bad feeling. A quick glance around I noticed the very evil smirk on Lev's face.

'Nine Eyes!'

In a second as if time around me had slowed down, I scanned the room. The entire platform where the coffins(what you use to rayshift) were colourless. While I did not have the rest of the 9 colours unlocked that didn't mean I didn't know what they were.

And considering that almost everywhere was Orange and read meaning dangerous and likely fatal that could reasonably mean one thing.

Black - Do not approach.

It was certain death if I did.

Turning my head even more unease dwelled in me. A circle under the director's feet including the director were colourless. Meaning if I stood there it was certain death, and it was most likely certain death for the director.

Even worse, spreading from that small circle was orange and red, red almost everywhere one could stand, and that red also washed over Mash but it was much more orangish, meaning it was likely that she would at least be injured but not killed.

"Hah!? What are you waiting for?" She exclaimed angrily but at that moment I felt sweat pour down my face. The colours were getting brighter. I had to act now.

Act what!? What the hell am I supposed to do!?

I closed my eyes and decided to do what I felt like was the most appropriate course of action.

I turned on my heel and sprinted toward the Director.

"Wha-!"

"Mr. President get down!"

To the astonished gaze of everyone here, I reached the stunned director and swept her up in a carry as I leapt away almost at the same time it was as if Mash felt something was off too, maybe her instincts fired but she also braced herself.

*BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!*

A roaring noise rang out as flames swept over the entire room. It felt like several red hot hammers were slammed into my back as I was launched forward with the director in my arms. Making me lose consciousness.

A/N: What do you think about the system layout and the abilities Noah acquired in this chapter? I would love to hear your thoughts about it.

Also if you know where I got the ability from you get a cookie.

And if those with a keen eye noticed a discrepancy in Noah's status it is intentional.
