The beginning

THE KINGDOM OF ILLYMAR

"Your majesty, all the spies are in position and we have every magician in the kingdom on guard. The search has began" Aide said as he bowed.

"Good! I guess you really aren't worthless after all Aide" King Devan said staring out the window.

With one look at him, one would think he was appreciating the rain pouring on his lands outside but his mind was rather far from the castle.

Had the royal seer been right when he said the child to end all these had been born? If it were true then he really was in doubt cause be had no idea if the child was a boy or a girl..the mark glowed?

This is ridiculous!!!

No! He needed to find her before anyone does... before anyone understands what great power she possesses...

Yes! He needed to find her and find her he will!

YEARS AGO.....

King Devan smiled into the mirror...

He was ready now....Lord Sulva's baby had finally been born! Ah!! Atlas a heir to his lordship....oh well he should get going to avoid arriving late. That would be a poor reflection on his image as king

He left his Chambers and went on his way to the throne room. He was earlier informed Aide sought his presence as something urgent had happened

Heaven's help him if he was only out to waste the king's time..

Stepping into the throne room, he was welcomed by a rather pale and shaken Aide..

"Your majesty, I'm afraid I bear bad news" said Aide trembling

"Speak" Devan's voice boomed in reply. He had no patience and would be grateful to get this over with and continue what he was about to do.

"My ki....ki...ng th..e o...rb has been stolen" Aide stammered

"What!!?" The king was confused. What was this fool up to??

"The orb has been stolen"

"How did this happen? You were responsible for keeping it safe" The king said with so much rage

"The thief handled everything with great precision and from our investigation the thief knew the exact location of the orb" replied Aide shaken.

How could he lose it? He needed the power from that orb.

No!! He must get it back!

He can't lose it

"My king?"

"What?!!" Snapped the king

"The royal seer is here to see you" Aide whispered careful not to anger the king more as he would not think twice about taking his life.

"Let him in" the king replied curtly

Why would the seer be here? He never came to the palace unless it was really necessary for him to come and he came after sending a notice days prior to his arrival

Moments later footsteps were heard.

The king faced the seer with a straight face. Although the king had such intimidating figure and aura, the seer seemed rather unfazed by this..

"What brings you Kai?" Asked Devan impatiently.

"I know the orb is gone!" The seer said

"I'm sure you didn't journey this far to mock me" sneered the King.

"The child who holds the key has arrived" the royal seer said.

"What child Kai? I have no patience for jokes" the king snapped

What sort of joke was this?

With a smirk on his face Kai replied:

"The one prophesied to be born with the mark of the kindred has been born"
