Chapter-2 Fight for the Right

Somewhere in the boundless space between the edge of the outer and inner circle of the universe, a white dog with three heads and nine tails was chasing after a bone that was flying in space at the speed of light.

~Smash~~Booom~

The bone collided with a small boat, smashing the boat and everything in it to pieces, causing the bone to come to a sudden halt. The dog also soon arrived on the scene,

"woof wooof wuuff!", The three heads of the dog bit towards the bone simultaneously.

The middle head succeeded in getting the possession of the bone, while the right head was left with chain stuck in between its teeth in the attempt to grab the bone. The dog after obtaining the bone tuned around to go back to its owner.

'agh! Why do I feel so uncomfortable?

Is this how it ends?

~sigh~ I was so busy forging a future for myself that I forgot to live in the present and look where that got me? I don't even have a present now. Wait a second! How am I still able to think?'

I opened my eyes with great difficulty, only to find myself dangling on one end of the chain that was supposed to bind me to the boat. Inspecting further I found out that the chain was stuck in the mouth of a three headed dog!? And that too the size of a truck. Truth be told I am not even shocked anymore. All these things that have happened to me are beyond what I can comprehend with my two brain cells.

'I don't know what will happen to me now that I can't reincarnate. Will I be stuck as a ghost or maybe I can takeover someone's body like in those horror movie. Aghhhhhh!!!' I felt a sudden bust of pain as if something was chipping away my soul. "It feels cold"

Using the chain I started climbing my way up, aiming for the warm fur of the dog.

"Come on Raspar! You can do it" I motivated myself. With a grimace on my face I used all the power of my soul.

"hah!hah! Hah!" After what feels like an eternity I finally reach my goal. Sitting on the back of the three headed dog I nestled in its warm fur. As soon as I covered myself in the fur, the pain and cold disappeared. Losing myself in the warm and cozy feeling I fell asleep.

"Rasper wake up! You are getting late for school!" I heard my mom shouting.

"No mom I'm not going today"

"~sigh~ what do I do with you? Reading light novels all day, sleeping late at night and playing games. If you keep on taking days off then the school will not allow you to graduate"

"I know what I'm doing mom. I don't need advice from you, I am old enough to make my own decisions."

"I'm calling your dad if you are going to act like this"

"I'm awake mom! You don't need to call dad"

With tears in my eyes I woke up, not in my bed but on the back of the three headed beast that still speeding through space. Looking at the millions of stars I thought about my parents, about how they told me that people become stars after dying.

"Mom Dad I miss you. You know that I became very rich and I even quit playing games, reading lightnovels. I wish you guys were there to see me. I don't know what to do now, I don't even know what I am." I said as I stared at my green translucent hands.

~sigh~ I don't want to die yet. I wanted to go on a world tour, get settled, and have a lovely wife and kids.

'NO! I CAN'T DIE! I WANT TO LIVE!' I blacked out once again.

When I woke up again I found that the size of my soul is half of what it originally was, due to which I easily got myself out of the shackles and tied myself to the fur of the dog.

'I can feel my end nearing me. I feel that if I don't do something in time my soul will dissipate.' I thought as I fell asleep once again.

"Ugh my head hurts like hell" I opened my eyes and what I saw left me stunned. Lush green trees as tall as the empire state building, birds the size of cars flying in the sky, seven suns shining high in the sky. The suns were of the seven colours of the rainbow, mixing together to give out a white light. By now my soul has shrunk by ¼ of its original size.

"Wooof, Wooof" the three headed dog barked excitedly as it flew on top of a mountain and landed near a sleeping man dressed in white robes.

"BB-BaiBai?" asked the young man in a shaky and hoarse voice.

'What a handsome man. He must surely be a lady killer.' That the first thought that came to my mind after seeing the young man. Sharp eyes, aquiline nose, finger length black hair, tall and lean body.

"Isn't this the bone of the nine headed fire dragon that I gifted LeiLei? What is this doing with you?"

~WoooF~Woooof woof awoooo woof~ The three heads started barking at the same time.

"oh she uses the bone to play catch with you rather than accept it and absorb it?" the young man coughed up a mouthful of blood again.

"~sigh~ looks like my soul is heavily damaged due to LeiLei. You tell me BaiBai, how do I make her accept me? After everything I have done she says that she loves someone else. What do I do? Do I just give up? I love her so much but she just doesn't care about me"

'She even left me here alone when I fainted'

~Woof~~woof~~woof~

The young man stood from the ground and hugged the three headed dog called BaiBai as tears started rolling down his face. While I watched the young man I felt a voice inside my soul, shouting at me to enter inside the mind of the young man. I felt that this was my chance at living,that if I didn't take this chance I will die or disappear.

Following the instinct of my soul I shot myself towards the forehead of the man in front of me.

~Booom~ I easily entered the mind of the young man. In front of me stood a white ethereal copy of the young man whose mind I entered. While the soul looked magnificent and majestic, upon closer look I found that there were many cracks in the soul, as if it would scatter the next moment.

The soul of the young man had its eyes closed as if trying to stop itself from scattering. Taking advantage of it I found myself a crack and hid inside the crack. As soon as I entered the crack I felt head splitting pain.

"Hmmph! You dare to invade my soul sea! You don't have what it takes to possess me." The young man said as he suddenly sat down cross legged, the soul inside the head of the young man opened its eyes.

"Mortal soul! Give up, you are but a mere mortal soul that is on the verge of existence."

"Aghhhhh!" I felt my soul dissipating at a quick pace. I don't want to die. "NO! I CAN'T DIE YET! SO WHAT IF I'M A MORTAL SOUL?? ATLEAST I'M NOT DELUSIONAL LIKE YOU. GIVE UP ON HER AND THIS LIFE. Why do you have to suffer for her? Let me take over and this suffering for you" The soul of the young man shook as I said this. Seeing this I felt more confident and calm.

"NOOOO! I HAVE LOVED HER FOR 500 years! SHE IS MINE."

"You are just being delusional. She already has someone in her heart and it's NOT YOU."

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! SHE CAN ONLY BE MINE." the soul of the young man gripped his head in pain and the cracks on it became deeper and deeper.

"Imagine her ignoring all your gifts, not caring about you at all. Her being all lovey-dovey with a man other than you."

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" the soul shrieked and finally turned into white coloured dust. The white dust entered my green soul and I received an influx of memories and information appearing in my mind. I felt drunk as I blacked out for the …th time.

~thud~

As the 'mere mortal soul' that shocked two high level cultivator in a single day blacked out and caused the death of the two high level cultivators fainted, the body of the young man dressed in white luxurious robes also dropped down to the ground.

~AWOOOOOOOOOO~ BaiBai howled as it saw the young man drop to the ground.
