Family of the Sunflower

Ever since Alektrona watched a movie about faeries, she always believed in supernaturals. When people told her there are no such things as supernatural, she always replied, "If there are no such things as supernaturals, where did the myths and legends come from? Imagination? Hallucination? I don't know! But I would love to know and meet one," She says it with a bright smile but, once she meets their confused gaze, she looks back at them with the same confusion as them. "I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who believes in spirits and faeries... right...? " And look at them expectation in her eyes. Her answer makes others fall speechless apart from her grandmother, who loves Greek mythology. Although Alek believes in the existence of supernaturals, she's never encountered one. God knows how many books she's read about Supernaturals. Alek talked to everything she sees and asks them, "When will you guys finally show up to me and start a conversation? I wouldn't tell anybody! I just want to meet you guys so that I couldn't die happily. So I'll be here, waiting for you guys to show up and talk to me." *********** Alek sneakily entered the room and was greeted by a boy facing toward the window opposite the door that she just entered. She thought he was Kai. She prepared to scare him. But before she tried to do anything, he snapped his neck to where she was standing. She was caught off guard. But what she saw next was enough for her brain to stop functioning. "What the..." Alek could not continue. The boy looked like her dead brother, Aether. *********** "They are not friendly, especially the Shiwasu." Astraea told her niece. "If you can't prove that you are able to replace her, then we are all doomed." Everyone was listening to her with serious faces, even the youngest looked like she knew that would be the end. "I will prove it." Alek spoke with determination in her eyes. ------------------ This is the story about shape-shifters and some parts are written in Japanese in roman alphabet as this book contains a little bit of Japanese culture and tradition. Unconscious

Bia looked troubled and kept on looking back between Castor and her sister.

[Do it, Bia.] Kai told her.

[I can't.] Bia told him weakly in her mind. The five transformed cousins were connected through the mind and, everyone heard the exchange between the two siblings.

[I know you don't want to hurt Alek. But she is dangerous and could cause more damage. If you don't do it, she could hurt herself during the process. We don't want that. You also don't want that. At least now, we have full control over ourselves but, what if she attacks us and we lose control? Alek going rampage is already worse and, imagine one of our ancient forms coming out. It would be horrendous.] Kai looked at his sister. There looked like she had tears in her eyes which was rare.

[Please, Bia.] Rin pleaded to his cousin.

Alek finally got out from the daze and looked at the shifter in front of her eyes. She sneered at her sister.

[Now!] Iris shouted inside the mind.

Bia had no choice but to go behind Alek and bite her like a vampire on the neck from the back. But before she could sink her sharp, long fangs, Alek grabbed her by her neck in a flash and raised her off the ground.

Her sister gasped for air as she was raised in the air by her neck. Indeed, she was fast. She tried to use the technique for removing a hand from the neck but didn't work. Bia had hit her sister's arm but, when she did that, it felt like she had struck an iron or a rock. It was hard.

"Oh no." The twins who saw this immediately mumbled at the same time. They now had one choice, attack Alek with their venom.

When they thought of it, they gathered their venom and spat it out. Jin's venom flew from his mouth while Rin's venom flew from one of his octopus legs.

Alek saw and heard the sound in slow motion. She turned around and saw two liquids coming at her. She knew those her venoms due to her memories and, she quickly moved and brought Bia in front of the flying venoms.

"Aghh!" Bia groaned in pain when she felt something sting on her back. It began to burn the place as it stung. The burn spread quickly and, her animal body started to fade. The stings were making her lose consciousness, and soon, she felt herself being thrown on the ground.

Alek growled louder than the last time and glared at the two who had tried to kill her. In her eyes, there were on them. So she longed an attack on them.

"No, you don't." Iris spoke and coiled her tentacle on Alek's neck, who was going to claw her brothers.

Alek instantly touched whatever that coiled around her neck and ripped it with her big claws.

Iris screamed in pain.

She felt pain in where she had touched the thing but, when she tried to attack the two of them again, she again felt the same thing curling her. But this time, it wasn't only her neck but also her entire body.

She howled in pain as it coiled tightly around her. Also, her skin started to burn.

"I'm sorry, Nana." Iris told her softly before she lifted the howling beast off the ground.

Iris's whole tentacles were venomous, and it didn't need to sting to get the venom inside one's body.

Alek's beast actually became more ferocious when she was lifted up. She felt her consciousness slipping but, the beast wanted to stay awake to take revenge on the two who tried to kill her and Alek's parents. The beast couldn't forgive them for what they did.

Just as she was about to use the remaining strength and release herself, something hard hit her head and, she was knocked out.

"I'm sorry, sis." Someone murmured before she fell into a dark world.

-------

Alek woke up and realised that she was in a dark room. She felt herself sitting on the ground but, she tried to stand up, she couldn't. Her hands were nowhere to be found, and also her legs. She tried to touch where she was but she couldn't. Somehow her hands were cuffed above her and, she couldn't move them. The same went for her legs. She was sitting with her right knee up while the other stayed on the ground, stretched.

"Hello?" She spoke inside the darkroom. "Mum? Dad? Bia? Kai?" She called out her family's name but, no one answered.

She didn't remember what had happened. The last thing she remembered was the sharp pain from the tips of her fingers when she thought another pain was fading.

"Jin? Rin? Iris? Aunt Astraea? Uncle Lake?" She called out again, but nothing changed. "Is anyone here?"

"Why am I here?" Alek talked to herself after a few more tries of shouting names. "How am I here? What am I doing here? Where am I? How long have a been here? What is going on?" She tried to pull her hands free from whatever was restraining her but didn't work.

She then shouted and howled in attempts to free herself for an hour after that. Maybe she was kidnapped by someone, and her family weren't there to help her.

Alek didn't know if it was day or night, but she continued to try to free herself. But didn't change anything. The chains that held her did not even budge from no matter how much force she had put. Only her wrists and ankles hurt. She knew her skin had peeled and, it was bleeding.

Just as she tried to do another round, a door opened with a thud. Alek was blinded by the light that came in with a person by the door.

"Oh my God. Alek?" A voice of a woman echoed in the room. Her entire being was exhausted and, she couldn't know who was speaking to her.

Alek had shut her eyes and groaned.

"Alek, is that you?" The voice asked again but, Alek didn't respond. She only opened her eyes and stared at the woman's legs. She was wearing jeans, and she could see that her legs were slim. She was also wearing a casual pair of heels.

The woman went out of the room in haste and came back minutes after with a lot of people.

"Alek. Alek, is that you?" Another woman's voice asked her, but her throat was dry from the screaming and, she couldn't answer. Instead, she looked up with the energy she was left with. "Oh, my sweetie. It's you!" The woman crouched down and hugged her.

Alek didn't know what was happening but let it flow.

"You are bleeding." A man's voice entered into Alek's ears and, she felt the woman pulling away.

"This is nasty." The woman spoke as she looked at her wrists. "We need to treat it now. Where are the keys for the cuffs?"

"Here." A young female told her and, she threw the keys.

Alek's hands and arms dropped onto her head as it was released. Next, she felt that they were removing the cuffs on her legs but, she couldn't do anything.

As soon as they were done, one of them carried Alek in his arms and went out of the room. By this time, Alek didn't even have the strength to keep her eyes open or lift her neck up.

She heard the person's heartbeat through the chest that she was lying on. She felt the constant walk from the person, and soon, she was placed on something soft. She guessed it was a bed or a sofa.

"This is worse than I expected. What happened?" A man spoke next to Alek.

"We don't know. We found her like this." The first woman's replied.

"Okay." The man said. "Alek. Alek, can you hear me?" He then asked Alek.

She couldn't move or say anything, so she just kept quiet.

"Alek?" The man asked again, but Alek didn't give any reaction to it.

"I think she is unconscious." Voice number three of the female said.

"Probably... Well, I will still use anesthesia just in case." The man replied and, Alek heard some noises before something was put on her nose and mouth. She breathed again, she felt her head go heavy. When she breathed in again, she lost her consciousness fully and drifted off.

---------

Alek groaned as she woke up. This time, she remembered what she was doing before.

"Alek?" Someone called her name from beside her and, when she turned, she saw her sister.

"Bia?" Alek asked.

Bia nodded vigorously and shouted for someone to check on her sister.

"What's going on?" Alek asked when the bed suddenly bent and became like a sofa. People she didn't know entered the room and came by her side quickly. They checked on her all at the same time. There were around five people that came and checked on her while her sister waited patiently by her side.

"Alek!" Her mother came into the room, running and hugged her daughter.

"Mum?" Alek let her mother hug.

Soon, her families, people of the Nagatsuki entered the room.

"What's going on?" Alek asked confusingly to the people in the room. The five, who seemed to be doctors, left the room as soon as they were done checking on her.

"You don't remember?" Robin asked his daughter.

"Remember what?" Alek asked back and, all the eyes stared at her in some kind of understanding. "Excuse me. Is anyone going to explain?" Alek waited for them to say anything.

"You really don't remember..." Kai whispered.

"Remember what?!" Alek asked again. "What's going on?"

"Until where do you remember?" Panacea pulled back and asked her daughter.

"The last memory I have is I inhaled something and, everything became blur." Alek told them.

"Before that." Kai told her.

"Umm, I felt pain from the tip of my fingers when I thought it was over." Alek recalled.

"Oh boy." Astraea spoke. "That's the last memory you have from two weeks ago?!"

"WHAT?!" Alek dropped her jaw.
