"I just feel comfortable with you, Shane. Sorry if it doesn't live up to your expectations," Jade replied then. Even then, she answered after she and Shane had eaten together and had arrived at her house. She had deliberately answered Shane's question when she got home.

Shane nodded in understanding. He knew that Jade couldn't possibly answer more than that because her feelings for Max were greater.

"At least I can hear it and know how you feel," Shane said.

Jade smiled faintly. She rubbed the back of Shane's hand, making him tremble and beat fast.

He glanced at Jade for a moment, then he slowly pulled his hand and got out of the car. He looked straight at Jade's bedroom window where Max was already there, standing and staring at him.

Jade followed outside at the same time following Shane's gaze. She then turned her face back to Shane.

"By the way, do you know when Zack will be back?" Jade asked.
