Starting Point
Damian had to look over at Loraine twice as the elevator finally started to move again. He was undecided on how to respond to what she so casually said. It was as if his tongue were tongue upon hearing those words.
In the end, until they arrived at their destined floor, he did not utter a thing. He remained silent as they stepped out of the elevator and walked back into his unit.
Almost in a hurry, he pressed the passcode on the security lock and then opened the door widely for the two of them. As he step a foot inside, Loraine stood there in the doorway from the outside. After what happened to them earlier, she doesn't have the gut to go in and out of his personal space.
"Come on in."
Loraine heard Damian calmly order which made her flinch a little. Slowly, she moved in. Her feet felt heavy as she immediately went toward her luggage that was sitting alone beside the table.
