Damian

I sat on the long couch of Damian's unit. The whole place had a drastic make-over since the last time I paid a visit. The walls that were once in cream beige are now painted white. Even the furniture was all new. The frames, appliances, and plants!

"Hey, when did you redesign this place?" I asked, eyes wandering around the four corners of the living room. "You've never told me," I added then finally looking at him who was sitting right beside me, having a glass of his favorite juice, orange juice.

Damian took one final sip of his drink before fixating his gaze on me. His eyes, bluer than the ocean, examines every feature of my face. Eyelashes battering as he speaks, "I've never got the chance to let you know."

My eyebrows narrowed at what he said, "what do you mean?"

He immediately put his half-empty glass on the coffee table before leaning towards the backrest of the couch sideways. The corners of his lips curved up into a sly smirk as his orbs focused furthermore on me.

"You're way too busy," he softly trailed off, "going in and out of the country." His slender fingers brushed through his blonde hair.

It made me cackled a bit, finding a hint of sulkiness in his voice. I was about to say something when I noticed my phone lighting up despite it being placed on the table upside down. Someone might have texted me or the likeness.

"So tell me," I shifted my gaze back at Damian before finishing my sentence, "are you gonna take over the vice president position if your family's business now?"

I saw how his pupils shake as his head turn to the side. Completely different from the braveness a while ago when trying to make a move in me.

"I want a different route," he casually told me while his arms rest against the backrest of the couch.

My head turn right and left showing my disapproval of what he wanted to do. Damian was always been a happy-go-lucky kind of guy. Often classified as the rebel of his family as he doesn't want to follow the flow of the river. Seeking something new is what he wants.

"You can't," I simply replied before finishing the rest of my drink.

Damian chuckled, moving closer to my side that have my eyebrows narrowed down with the creasing of my forehead. I'm so ready to kick him any moment by now if he tried to do anything bad, or out of the line.

"How about you?" He trailed off softly, eyes locking with my stares as his fingers found their way to tangle up some strands of my hair. "Don't you want to do the complete opposite of what your parents wanted?" He added.

It made me think for a second, eyes looking away. His question rendered me speechless. No words dared to leave my mouth, lips puckered.

There were times I indeed think of opposing my mother and father. Especially when they decided to agree to an arranged marriage between me and Lincoln. But I knew to myself I can't afford to face the consequences of such an act.

All I could do was reason out in an attempt of prolonging the wedding.

"We both know I can't even if I want to," I placed the empty glass on the marbled coffee table as I speak.

Gaze once again landing on Damian, I crossed my arms above my torso as my feet slide sideways to show a form of elegancy and grace. The young man shook his head twice before leaning in dangerously close, our faces a few inches away from touching each other's lips.

"I always like you, Tiff."

His words instantly made my eyes shut closed tightly. I've known that fact since we were in college but as the obedient daughter that I am, I choose to turn him down over and over again. We just can't be together, we couldn't even if we wanted to.

"Cut it, Dam," I demanded.

My hands made contact with the soft couch as I push myself up, off of my seat. Standing on my feet, I hurriedly turn around. Desperate to escape the scene before we stumble upon the things we could be since then.

I was about to take a step forward when Damian got a hold of my forearm. He hastily spun me to face him again. In a blink of an eye, our lips were threaded away from clashing together.

For the same old reason, I held my breath. I can vaguely see where it's all leading. He's Damian, irresistible as they say. Charms overflowing that no one could ever resist. And I'm fully aware of that! But having him as close as this, always takes my breath away.

"Marry me," he softly said above my lips, perhaps intentionally letting our lips brush against each other when he muttered those words.

"Marry me instead of Lincoln," he repeated.

My breathing hitched when his lips dropped a peck on mine. It felt so soft, like how I remember it to be.

Slowly, his free hand wrapped around my tiny waist. As if my pair of hands have their minds, they found their place on his shoulder when he pulled my body closer to his. Rubbing along each other.

Damian's actions made me pop my eyes open. His tilted head welcomed my vision, ready to fully claim my lips.

And it took me back to our university days.

It was the same scenario. Damian was kissing my lips fervently when all of a sudden Lincoln barged into the scene. With my eyes open, I can picture how Lincoln looked at that very moment.

He was mad. His face, in fair white tone, flushing red as he dragged Damian away from me. His fist landed a punch on Damian's cheek.

That memory made me push Damian. A few apologies slipped off of my mouth. In a hurry, I grabbed my things and left his unit without looking back.
