Chapter 25: Calcel's Birthday.

In a mall ...

" Do you think that the dress will be nice on me ? " Alyssa asked holding a blue dress in her hands.

" Of course dear. You will rock it this time . " Herman who was with her said.

Herman saw her face turn solemn and he wondered why she was like this all of sudden .

" Aly , Is everything okay ? " He asked.

" Yes. But do you think that Mr Wong will allow me to attend the launch ? " Alyssa asked.

" Why not ? " Herman was more astonished.

" That's because .....The launch is there on the same day of his son's birthday party. " Alyssa said.

" What a sad story. So did you try to inform him about it ? "

" I haven't. You know the previous weeks have been somehow tough for me , I don't want to engage him in my business. " Alyssa attered out

" Aly , Don't worry about that. I will go and inform him myself. " Herman assured.

" Ha...Don't create more trouble. I will inform him first. "

" Okay..I trust you in everything. " Herman swirled.

At the Wong's Mansion.

David was in his study room . He was reading through a book when he heard the door knock.

" Who is that ? " He asked.

" It's Alyssa. " She said.

" Come in ! "

After hearing his response , Alyssa got inside the room . It was her first time to enter the study room since David rarely used it. It had over four shelves of different kinds of books and in the middle was a desk and a chair where David was seated.

" What brings you here ? " David asked giving his attention to her.

" Am..Sir. There's a launch tomorrow.." She said softly and calmly.

" And....." David muttered giving her a questioning look.

" I was invited to attend it . " Aly said.

David chuckled and closed the book he was reading. He looked at her again.

" Have you forgotten that's it's my son's birthday party ? " He asked.

" Of course not sir. "

" Then why are you talking about your launch party ? Will your absence stop it ? " David asked

" It won't but I was the main characteri the movie being launced . I am expected to be there when my movie is being launched. " Alyssa argued.

On hearing this , David got up from his seat and she walked circles around her .

" Have you forgotten what you are ? " he asked.

" Of course not. "

" Good girl." David said before standing in front of her.

" Never forget the reason why you are here. Remember that your personal matters are not important here than my family's , You have to attend each event and fullfil your duties as the wife of the house ! " David said more as if he was commanding her.

" But sir , The launch won't take long. I will try my best to be there in time ! " Alyssa argued.

" Are you daring to speak back at my words ? " David asked in disbelief.

" Of course not sir. Am so sorry...I will leave. " Alyssa said and made a bow before him and left.

She went in her room and grabbed her phone to call Herman.

" Hi , Did you inform your husband about it ? " Herman quickly asked.

" I tried to but he refused . " Alyssa muttered sadly.

" My Gosh ! I knew he wouldn't. What are you going to do now ? " Herman asked.

" I really don't know that. I am so pissed ! " Alyssa added.

" I understand you dear. But you have to calm down. " Herman said trying to give her courage.

" I am really fade up of this marriage. Can you believe it's been two weeks but I've been being treated like a robot which is told do this and that ? " Alyssa lushed out.

" I can see that dear. But am sure that once the elections are done everything will be okay. " Herman said.

" I hope so. I will hung up now. "

" Fine good night. "

" Good night too. "

It was finally the day of the party. Alyssa helped the maids to prepare everything the whole day since the party would be there that night. A few guests had arrived when she decided to go and change into a party dress.

In the party Hall.

Calcel and David were busy welcoming the guests. The two were clad in black suits looking at a cloud nine at the moment when Alyssa joined them.

She had wore the blue dress she just bought with Herman. After applying some simple makeup and tying her hair into a bun , She wore diamond ear rings and a bracelet that brought out her beauty that the moment both David and Calcel looked at her , Their jaws dropped. She was really a beauty queen herself and there was no doubt today. Her eyes , Nose , Lips , The figure and everything about was just perfect at the moment.

She walked to them slowly with a beam when she found the other two guests they were just with.

" Greetings .. " She greeted the two men with a big smile on her face before smiling at David and Calcel.

" My God ! Is this your wife Ms Alyssa ? " One of the guests asked giving Alyssa a hand for a shake.

" Yes sir. Am glad to meet you ! " Alyssa said giving in her hand.

" My God ! Your so young and beautiful. David is lucky to have you. " Another man said.

" Of course am also glad to have someone like her." David added as he looked at Alyssa with a smile. They both looked like really a happy couple.

Calcel was getting bored by this so he decided to change the topic.

" Are you guys going to keep on staring at my step mother like that ? " He asked.

" Of course not. " The man who had spoken first said.

" I guess I should greet the other guests. Have a nice time ! " Alyssa said before leaving them.

She had interacted with most of the guests when her phone rung. she picked the purse to check and this time it was the CEO of EE Entertainment calling.

' Gosh ! I forgot to tell him that I was going to miss the party . ' Alyssa's inner voice told her before she excused herself from the hall and went outside to pick the call.
