Chapter 42: Searching for Clues
Surprisingly, the best part of Scott’s day now was when he was able to finally go home after a hard day of work and find Florence waiting for him.
He never pictured himself as the type of man who would be anxious to go back to his wife, but it turned out he was, and he was loving it.
Also, the prospect of the baby’s arrival was something that was making him very excited for the future. He always loved kids, even though he wasn’t often around them, but knowing it was his baby with Florence, it put things on a whole different level.
However, on that particular night, there was something bothering him, even though he couldn’t quite put his finger on it. He had texted Florence during the afternoon and she told him she was going to the mall with Luke to buy clothes for the baby.
Scott was constantly checking up on her and Luke to know if she was okay and if she had arrived home safely. Which she did. She texted him as soon as she entered the apartment, and Luke also reported to him.
