Winola's laughter echoed throughout the room. The hand with white curly fingers held its mouth naturally in response.

"That's ridiculous. What can an engagement like that have to offer? It's just like a mutually beneficial business contract. Are you afraid I'd do something lowly like that? Have you forgotten who I am, Winola Meyer wouldn't be careless by getting engaged to just anyone?" Winola giggled with slanted eyes.

"We don't know what will happen, Nola. I'm afraid of losing you but I also know that you are not worthy enough to be your companion?" replied Gary.

"And Isana is more deserving? Why did you have to marry a workaholic woman like that woman? Isana was even able to give you a very cute son while I wasn't, then why aren't you satisfied with betraying him?" Winola giggled in disbelief.

"That's right. Our relationship was wrong from the start. And I was always afraid that you would forget me. Leaving myself full of sin mud while you walked on as usual. Like an angel who always shines." Gary's heart suddenly felt sad for no apparent reason.

Especially whenever Winola mentions the name of his wife, Isana.

The sadness will only get worse when Winola calls her cute son the butt of jokes for her. For some reason, Gary suddenly felt very guilty.

Of course, Gary was just kidding. If Gary had bad intentions by taking one of Winola's expensive bag collections, no one would know and Winola would not be angry if she found out. The question is why did Gary steal all the treasure when all Gary needed was Winola alone.

"Alright, let's go. We'll be late if we keep arguing." invite Winola to hold Gary's hand out of the room.

After everything was agreed, Gary parked the car in front of the hotel where the Meyer family was having the family event that Winola had mentioned earlier. Meanwhile, Gary's brown eyes watched Winola walk away towards the hotel lobby and disappear into one of the luxurious gold elevator doors.

"Why do I feel so sad today?" whispered Gary to himself.

And what happened was exactly what Gary had predicted. Winola was very surprised by the announcement of her engagement which the Meyer family planned without Winola's permission.

"Henry is a very good boy. He's even a CEO of a big company, you should put more effort into getting to know your future husband, dear." Winola's mother whispered to her daughter.

After the announcement of the engagement between the Meyer family and the Lehmanns, the chair that Winola was sitting in was extremely hot. Uneasy and unsure of how Winola would explain everything that was going on to Gary, her lover.

"Mother, why don't you discuss this with me?" Winola hissed in anger.

"You are too stubborn to be forced into marriage so your father planned all this. You think the mother was told?" replied the mother who also hissed.

After all, the middle-aged woman was Winola's mother and a mother would not have the heart to plunge her proud daughter into an engagement-themed conflict with the second son of the Lehmann family if not for the family's financial problems.

Her husband's company isn't doing well lately, and Mr. Meyer needs a successor to acquire Meyer's company one day. Until the best choice fell into the hands of the famous Lehmann family in managing the company.

"Then I was only used as a sacrifice to save father's company?" Winola grumbled, quickly responding to her family situation.

"Don't be like that, dear. Just take this as proof of your devotion to your parents, okay?" seduced the mother in a soft voice.

"Don't make me laugh mom. There are many ways to show a child's devotion to their parents and I don't think this is one of them. It's too old-fashioned and ridiculous." Winola hissed who was imagining Gary's sour face when he heard this news from someone.

For that, Winola had to prepare herself to tell Gary herself.

"Look, honey. Henry's coming our way, so you'd better put on the most beautiful smile you can do." whispered the mother softly.

Inevitably, Winola turned towards the origin of the footsteps.

Their eyes exchanged glances. Henry was judging Winola who was reluctant to show a friendly attitude. Instead, Henry smiled politely at Winola and held out his hand. Asking permission to bring Winola to talk one-on-one.

"What's wrong? Hurry up, I'm too busy to talk to strangers," said Winola curtly.

However, Henry still maintained a smile while all eyes were on him. Winola doesn't care if other people think she doesn't accept this matchmaking but not Henry.

"Don't worry Winola, I will not interfere with your illicit relationship with Gary Stein who is already married and has children. I will still let him, even until we get married. On one condition that as long as we are married you will give me one or two children, okay? " Henry said ending with a sweet smile that Winola admits to being very tempting.

Not only surprised by Henry's confession that he found out about his naughty behavior but Winola was also surprised by Henry's unreasonable offer to give him one or two children.

"Are you crazy? Do you know that I am an actress who is always required to look perfect?" spit out Winola no longer holding back.

"Instead, the public will see you getting more perfect with your pair of children. Or do you prefer your disgrace and deeds with Gary to be widespread?" Henry hissed in an undeniably superior tone.
