As I walk through the hallway the next day, I can feel my exhaustion catching up to me. I didn't a whole lot of sleep last night after Ari came over. She slept over at my place because she wasn't ready to face her dad if she did meet him at home. I'm all one for people facing their problems head-on, but I knew she needed time.
We talked all night, and that's when she told me about her plans to study in Australia. She's trying to run away from home as fast as she can. I couldn't help but think about how this would affect her and Nolan's relationship. Long-distance relationships exist, but I don't believe they work.
Now I'm headed to my second class of the day. Ari left before me because she left to meet the counselor early to inform her of her plans to study in Australia. I walk past some freshman glued to their phones, Airpods in and heads softly bobbing to whatever beat they're listening to on their phone.
