After arguing with Heins for a good 30 minutes, 15 had begun to get a little tired. So he hopped onto the back of the little raft, closed his eyes, and told Heins that he would deal with the mess in the morning.

After opening his eyes, 15 woke up to the sound of silence.

Below him, the blood river was still. There were no currents and no waves.

Behind him, the corrupted forest was just as still. It's now nocturnal creatures had gone to sleep after their first night of carnage. There was a slight breeze, and the sun had just begun to pop its head over the horizon.

15 had some of the best sleep he had ever had last night, as all the excitement had somewhat tired him out. Heins had also done his best to make sure 15 had gotten a good rest. He had the river of blood stay completely still to prevent the little raft from rocking and had prevented any of the newly corrupted animals from approaching.

Although Heins had not yet gained complete control of the newly corrupted animals, he could silently alter their behavior to an extent.

" Heins? anything interesting happen while I was asleep ? "

" No, not much, "

" Did you get any sleep ?"

" I dont need to sleep silly little human "

" How come you don't need to sleep? "

" I just don't. "

15 groaned and slowly stood up, stretching as he shook off the grogginess of a good nights sleep,

" What's for breakfast, ?? "

Heins chuckled for a bit before replying,

" I don't know what you humans usually eat. But there are a few fruit trees to your right, "

15 turned his head. And indeed hanging from the now red foliage were a few bumpy bright green orbs that shone with a mild luminescence.

" I don't remember fruit ever glowing.... "

15 scratched his head, somewhat confused. He had never seen anything edible that had glowed in his lifetime.

" Don't worry their edible to most creatures, I think you can consume them without difficulty, "

" If you say so... "

" Just be cautious, the trees bite "

15 had found the green orbs to be a little sour, although they were quite filling. Interestingly enough they each slightly increased his lifespan a little.

After eating 15 and Heins got down to business and sorted out everything they had to do, and everything they had to work with.

15's fly spawner had gone off cool-down allowing for 15 to once again create a mass sacrifice, expanding the now even larger river of blood.

The current total area of the corrupted jungle had basically doubled. And this was without Heins actively trying to spread himself out and attaining maximum coverage. In all honestly, 54 kilometers squared was quite a large area in earth terms. Although compared to the entire Savarus Jungle, it was only a drop of red in a sea of green.

Heins was still holding onto the Kakazumi priest's soul for some reason and was still receiving quite the sizable amount of income from all of the animal on animal violence within the corrupted area.

15's knife had absorbed quite a bit of blood and had gained a new ability as well as some levels

Tears of La Luna - After absorbing a drop of the blood blessed by La Luna this knife gained some power. Wounds caused by this knife will be reopened and agitated under moonlight.

Bending Blood - While in combat, this knife may be able to slightly change shape according to the user's will. The changes are limited by how much blood is absorbed.

Although 15 was quite happy that his favorite toy had gained a new gimmick, he was quite confused when he had noticed the knifes level had gone over 25. He had always assumed that after reaching level 25, the next boost in power would bring a creature or object to stone level. Instead, the knife had thrown his thinking right out the window.

And after checking his own level he had noticed the same problem had cropped up.

15 had decided to toss this problem into oncoming traffic and had decided to bring the problem up to Heins later on.

Not counting the area fragments 15 had received, and several of the glowing fruits that 15 had stashed for later, that was all that was in his possession.

With a good overview of all they had to work with, Heins and 15 made a quick plan for the foreseeable future.

15 would go excavate the ruins of the Kakazumi village, looking for any spawners and special items left behind. Heins had emphasized finding something that looked similar to the blood medallion and the village core itself.

Heins on the other hand would continue to expand his own reach by continuing to spread the blood curse. By making use of his newly gained mass, Heins could continue to spread himself out.

Excavation day 1

Although 15 had known that it was mainly his fault for completely destroying the village, he was still quite annoyed having to dig through the mess he had left behind.

What was worse, was the fact that pretty much all the blood had dried. This slowed 15s search progress as many little objects were now stuck under a layer of dried dirt.

For the entire day 15 had not uncovered anything useful except for some colored cloths and clay bowls.

Excavation day 2

Having rained the night before, the red mud had loosened up allowing 15 to search through about twice as much as the day before.

Interestingly enough he had found several pills in a small jar. After eating them at Hein's amusement 15 had found that his speed had increased a moderate amount, although his lifespan had dropped by 5 years.

Excavation day 3

The soul count of the blood river had reached 60 thousand today after 15 had sacrificed the days batch of flies. Although Heins had continued saying that he could make optimal use out of every single one, other than the blood river and blood knife 15 had never seen Heins use a single one, not even the one from the priest.

15 had began to assume that Heins wasnt as powerful as he had boasted, although he couldn't really care himself. He himself had no use for souls himself, and at least by spreading the blood curse Heins could gain some control over the creatures in the jungle.

It wasnt until the forth day of searching through the ruined Kakazumi village that 15 had found something of importance.

It was an old book hidden under the body of an elderly Kakazumi pushed aside in the chaos.
