Meeting

--Lance's Pov--

I quietly followed Charles around the mansion. Well, I had no other choice other than following him. The mansion was quite big. It was bigger than any other mansion or house I had ever seen.

The walls were coloured with dark blue colour and mysterious patterns which were most probably symbolising lightning. Lamps and different kinds of decorative things were kept and used all around the mansion to make it look elegant.

"Young Master, please walk a little fast. I know you are not an awakened person but this speed is too slow even for an unawakened person." Charles said to me with a smile on his face.

Even by glancing at the smile once, I could tell that it was fake. This means Charles either hates me or thinks of me as a pest who is polluting the Thunder bloodline.

I came to this conclusion because Charles is the Head Butler of the Thunder family. He is well trained in hiding his emotions. That's one of the things, a butler is most trained in.

And the fact, that he fake smiled looking at me just now proves that he hates me quite deeply.

"Yes, I am coming," I replied in a lazy voice. I didn't want to sound disrespectful or anything, but I had no energy in my body right now. I felt as if all of the energy in my body has been sucked out.

Right now, I didn't even care about how I got inside a game. All I wanted to do right now was to sleep. That's how tired I was.

After walking for another five minutes, we finally reached Infront of a big door. I could feel the energy coming from the other side of the door even though I am not an awakened person.

I was scared to even enter the door. On the other side of the door is the Head of One of the Seven Great Families, Gilbert Thunder.

He is a continental level mage, one of the strongest humans in all of the game's storyline.

In the game, Jin came to the territory of the Thunder family and started running havoc. The reason for this was to get an item that he needed to save a friend from dying. He wasn't stopping by any means at that time.

The Thunder family even sent five Master level mages to stop him but each one of them was defeated by Jin. He not only defeated them but also killed two of them. The other three were severely injured and crippled by him.

Seeing this, Gilbert got angry and himself went to stop Jin. It took one punch from Gilbert to knock Jin out. That's how powerful Gilbert is.

Later Jin got saved by his teacher. If it wouldn't be for his teacher, Jin would have been killed right then and there.

"Lance, come in." A voice called me while I was busy in thoughts. Without any second thought, I opened the door and entered the room.

I couldn't resist the voice. My inner voice told me to quietly follow whatever he says. If I don't, then my head would be rolling on the floor right now.

The room was coloured with multiple colours and had a lot of books. In the centre of the room was a small table with a candle on it and a chair beside it.

A person was sitting on a chair with a book in his hand. Even though his eyes were on the book, I could feel his gaze on me.

"Lance, you have failed to awaken any kind of magic. You are of no use to the Thunder family now." He said in an uninterested voice while keeping his book down.

His voice carried the power and force of thunder in it. Every word he spoke forced me a step back. Being a normal person, I wasn't able to resist his aura. I was suffocating to death right now.

" It's not my fault that I didn't get awakened," I replied to him in the most courageous voice I could speak at the moment.

"Child, it's not your fault that you didn't get awakened. But it is your fault that you are weak. This world only remembers the winner, no one remembers the loser."

"What do you mean to say ?" I asked him with a confused expression on my face.

"From this day onwards you are no longer a part of The Thunder family. I, Gilbert Thunder disown you. This is what I meant."

"Hahahaha, you decided to disown me just because I didn't awaken any magic. You just think I am polluting the Thunder bloodline." I replied to him with a disgusted look on my face.

"Yes, you don't deserve to be a part of the Thunder family. You will only tarnish its name."

"Very well, I will become stronger than any of you and when that day comes you will regret the decision you made today," I said to him in a confident voice. For others, it might sound cocky, but I was confident in myself.

"HAHAHA, I like your guts kid. Very well, come meet me in 5 years time if you are able to survive till then and still have this cockiness of yours. I check myself if you are worthy of carrying Thunder family's name or not." He replied back.

"And here take these hundred gold coins before going, so you don't die on the streets,"

Gilbert added while throwing a pouch towards me.

I took the pouch and left the room. If I want to live in this world, might as well live like the wind. Nothing to care about and no one to stop me. I already knew Lance was going to get disowned, but since I acted boldly in front of Gilbert I got a chance to be free.

In the game, Lance was trapped in a mansion on the border of the Thunder territory until he turned fifteen. But since I acted differentially than the previous Lance, I got off the hook.

Now my main problem is to somehow awaken magic. Without magic, I am as good as dead in this world.

"Status screen," I said in my mind while thinking, 'Let's see if this works or not'.

As soon as I said it, a green transparent screen appeared Infront of me. Like every game, [ Nine Realms ] also had a status screen to check the stats.

Whenever someone awakens their magic in the world of Aldea they also get a status screen alongside it which shows them some common information. But what surprised me was that Lance wasn't awakened so how was he able to access the status screen.
