Chapter 6: UNAF J

Marwin and Markus was preparing to leave as the people of the Village overlook their leaving, Agent Q and the other Soldiers of UNAF decided to stay at the Village as the Village may get under attack again for it is a very important place of Titans. it's been a week since Marwin told Markus about his plans, Markus was pretty well accepted by the Village as the New Lord Arthur.

"When will you be back?" The Girl said as he walk with Markus all the way to the hatch of Marwin's ship.

"Soon Ruri, I'll be back soon" Markus said with a smile.

Markus and Marwin went on their way to Nagoya.

as they both sit in the Jet Markus started a Conversation.

"Uh? can I ask something? does everyone from your family have any connection to this hero stuff?" Markus asked

"Huh? why'd you ask?" Marwin said

"Well, Ms. Erica is there? and she's your sister and she's also a hero" Markus said

"hmm, well kinda, I mean it all started from my Grand father, Emong, he's a war Hero, he's a part of the Paranormal Intelligence Squad, even before Dratos emerged mythical creatures has been a great threat though in a much smaller scale, and Paranormal Intelligence Squad is a branch of military of which handles those kind of things, it's a secret before but everyone knows about it today, then my Dad? he's a Chief of Police and the one responsible for my kind of work, I'm just following in his foot steps, he was also a decorated soldier, he fought along side us, but back then? he never knew I was one of the seven titans" Marwin explained

"Wooh cool, where is he now?" Markus asked

"Dad...well he died during the great war, he sacrificed his life protecting innocent people, you know Markus, power doesn't make the hero, his heart does, My dad is a Hero even without superpowers like us, he fought with all his might, and he succeeded that statue? in the middle of the village? well that's him, he saved that village, he fought enemies stronger than him, he's a hero like no other, just like Leo, just like Curl" Marwin said.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I was wondering about the statue I thought it was you though" Markus said

"Well, that's because we look similar, since he's my dad" Marwin said

"I wish I could've met my dad, but all I can remember is my mom" Markus said.

"After all this shit is over? I'll help you found your dad, maybe he's still around kicking" Marwin said

"Yeah, I remember my mom saying he's a great man, I couldn't remember what he looked like because I have only seen him in a photo and I was just 4 years old when mom died" Markus said.

The ship stopped in a facility outside tokyo.

The radio on the ship caught a signal.

"This is the United Nations Armed Forces of Japan, please identify yourself, failure to comply will be answered with hostility in about t minus 60 seconds" The voice said on the other side of the radio.

"Stand down, Identification Number 0001B is requesting clearance for Landing" Marwin complied.

"ID number...0001B? OH MY GOD! I apologize for the confusion sir! Welcome to UNAF-J!" The radio operator said.

The Ship Landed on the Facility with someone in a Military attire similar to Joshua waiting for them

Markus and Marwin got out of the ship and is welcomed by a Soldier.

"Sir! I am Major Kurenia Sato! Sir!" The Major saluted Marwin.

"Stop with the Formality I'm no longer in the military" Marwin said as he continue to walk forward.

"sir! what brings you here? it's pretty unusual for someone like you to be here" Major Kurenai said.

"I'm here for 2 reasons, first in about a few weeks Japan will be under attack by the Empire and second I'm looking for someone" Marwin said

"Oh yes, we heard, we are preparing as we talk, who's this someone?" Major asked

"A short haired girl, filipina, she wears a glasses, very loud and cheerful, likes to watch bird and definitely obsessed with the Knights" Marwin said as a girl started running towards him.

"Uncle Marwin!!!!!" the girl said as she started running towards Marwin, she jumped on him and hugged him.

"You've grown a lot little girl" Marwin said

"Yeah! well it's been 10 years so yeah! anyway! Why are you here! and who's this? uhmmm! wait! Markus! WOOOOOW!" The girl said

Markus was speechless, this is his Childhood friend whom he haven't seen for about 5 years.

"Amy? umh! Marwin? is this the person we're looking for?" Markus asked.

"Yes, and also she's Amerie's daughter, your first knight" Marwin said

"Knight?" Amy asked confused.

"Major? please do prepare for the upcoming fight, we'll talk privately first" Marwin said

"Yes.. Sure, if you need anything just asked, having one of the greatest hero here in our base would be a great way to boost the troops Morale" the Major said as he went on his way.

Markus' POV

As we were walking I noticed Marwin's armor and shoes. They were wore down and old, of course it's the best technology has to offer from my understanding it was designed and made by one of the greatest mind of the scientific world, Marwin Himself, though I want to know him first, know the strongest titan still alive, I can't bring myself to ask more than I should, for some reason theres a thing in my heart that wanted me to know him more.

we entered the ship we came in with again, the inside transformed to a meeting room.

"Woah! where did the cockpit go?" I asked

"Well, it automatically turn itself to a mini command room whenever the engine is off, only I and the other titans can use this ship, it's a security protocol I integrated after out first ship was stolen about 30 years ago" Marwin said

Amy just looked at me and asked me a question.

"Uhm? why are you with uncle Marwin? and why are you wearing Leonel's old suit?" Amy said

"No Amy it isn't Leonel's, anyway Markus? he's Lord Arthur now" Marwin said

Amy looked at me and gave that bubbly smile she always does back in high school, I wish I could have the entire gang together again.

"I KNEW IT! when I first met you I know something about you is different! anyway where's Amy and Jay now?" Amy said

Amy? Jay? I haven't heard those names for almost a decade now, I wonder how their life is now.

"I..haven't heard of them since high school" I said...

I looked at Amy remembering her back in high school she's still lively as she used to be

"What's your work here anyway?" I asked

"Oh? I'm just a researcher, you see not only that we have to battle mists everyday there are also a lot of people that manifest their authority that needs to be checked because of them are using those ability in a wrong way, you know? like crime ring and other harmful ways, you see the purpose of UNAF is not just fighting the mist also fighting people who happen to learn some authority, ever since the appearance of the Titans people around the world with the ability to use authority has appeared, though we all thought they are extinct, of course I can use authority but that's because I am blessed titan's daughter" Amy explained

Oh yeah, She's Miss Amerie Daughter, I can't believe I never knew about this before

"So yeah, a war is coming and we're here for one reason, I have a plan and your mom will not gonna like this" Marwin said

"What plan?" Amy asked

"We're making you a Titan" Marwin said

"Wait? what? Sir Marwin I don't think I can bless her I don't know how"

"yes I know and even if you know you can't because you don't have the caliburn or the excalibur, any of the sacred weapon can bless her, but currently you don't have any, She'll just have to fight using her inborn ability to fight, this means we can find your knights but we will not be able to bless them so choose those who have the latent ability to fight just like Amy who has been trained by her mother and the other titans since she grew up in the Camelot" Marwin explained

Amy looked at Marwin and held his hands.

with her teary eyes she said "Please, Tito.. don't leave me again, I thought..you'll never come back"

Marwin's POV

"I'm sorry" I said I Hug the Kid I used to hold.

*Flashback

19 years ago.

Amerie was laying down the floor as Marwin is standing up, Noah was passed out and Joshua was calling for help.

Marwin looked at the carnage the enemy have brought upon them.

He looked at his bloody hands, and his katana covered in blood.

this is where he decided, "I'm sorry...." Marwin said to Amerie who is laying on the ground looking at him.

Marwin started to cast a spell. He is using arcane, an authority that can only be used by titans.

Amerie heard him, she knew what that spell was because she is the one who learned that skill first.

"Don't go please...we need you"

Marwin looked at Amy with his face covered in guilt and sadness., his tears started to fall from his eyes.

"I'm sorry...bye" and then he disappeared for almost 20 years...

Present day.

"I'm not gonna leave again, not anymore." Marwin said as he hold the child he so lovingly cared for.

"So how'd you find me?" Amy asked

"I never lost you, I always check on you, your graduation, your first invention, when you won a novel prize, the day you decided you want to work with the UNAF, I know it all, I have always been by your side baby girl" Marwin said

"Where have you been?" Markus asked

"Far away, finding myself, looking for any purpose and now I know what that purpose was it was always about helping people, my dad? was so hard on me when I was growing up but he always emphasizes to me the importance of helping others without gaining anything" Marwin said

"NO! tito? the people of the world loved you, they respected you, you are the Leader of the Titans, one of the youngest general of philippine army, you have 2 medal of valor, and the UN wanted you to take over the UNAF but you declined Tito? you're a hero, you saved the world" Amy said.

"at what cost?" Marwin asked

"Do you think Tita Rei would want you to sulk like that? you know what kind of person she is, she'd punch you if she ever sees you like this, you know what? let's go get some ramen or something" Amy said

"What about the blessing? the plan?" Markus asked

"Oh my god! you're still too serious!, we can figure that out while we eat, also nice sword, I know that sword! I was there when Tito Marwin and Tito Noah forged that sword I think it was for brother Curl" Amy said

"Curl huh....yeah, I heard this sword is meant for him but since he is now gone It was given to me instead..." Markus said

Amy then looked down as she had forgotten that Markus was Curl's adoptive brother.

"Oh..Sorry Markus.." Amy said

"Wait? did you know about him? I mean you met him several times when we were kids, did you know everything? about his work and stuff?" Markus asked

"Yeah, but it was kept as a secret, since my identity as a Titan's daughter has been kept a secret as well because you know? everyone with the power of the titans are being hunted by the mistenial empire as it is a threat to them, the only reason they aren't coming for the knight is because they are no match for any of them" Amy explained

"Actually they do have a chance of defeating any of us, but they aren't after the other knights they are after the people who posses the power of the king and I think they believed that since you're a blessed titan's daughter you might be the next person to posses that power but as you know it was given to Markus, his origin is still a mystery, we knew Curl Picked him up as a child here in Japan but the names or even clue about his family still remains unknown because the village he was found on is a very backwards one, they don't use any kind of documents or papers that will serve as a clue" Marwin said

"Yeah...I still remember the day Curl picked me up I was around 4 that time" Markus said

"Do you have any memories of your parents?" Marwin asked

"Well, yeah a bit, but I was too young I can only remember the smell and voice of my mother, I can't clearly remember how she looked but she kept telling me that we aren't from the village, she would often tell stories about my father, how he is a great man, and how he would do anything for us, though I never met my father, but my mom said he is somewhere in the world looking for us it's just that it's better if we stay hidden in the village because people are looking for me" Markus said

"I think your mother knew your power, can you remember using your power when you were younger?" Marwin asked

"Well...yeah, I remember destroying a field when I accidently unleashed some kind of fire" Markus said

"Fire huh? that's one of the many power only Arthur can wield, the village you were in protected you like their own, but since the people in there knew that they can't protect you they let Curl take you away since they know he can better protect you, coincidently that village was the same village where Leonel used to be trained when he was still a member of the hidden corp" Marwin explained

"hidden corp?" Markus asked

"It's an organization that has existed for hundreds of years, I don't know where they're from and what their agenda is, but Leonel said they were noble servants of the kings, I don't have any idea what he meant by that" Marwin said

"So Curl knew about my special ability? why didn't he tell me about it?" Markus asked

"To protect you, I took care and trained Curl, he the kind of person that has a plan but won't tell anyone if it's not necessary, he knew that Fire is unique only to those chosen as the king, he might've thought he can train you when the time is right, but he has no idea that it will be sooner that expected, well he still was able to teach you how to use sword, I haven't told you this yet, but up until now the sword style you were using is called the air dance, it is invented to maximize defense, the way you're slashing looks like you're hitting something in the air" Marwin said

"Wait? how'd you know that?" Markus asked

Amy looked at Markus and laughed a bit

"Because he invented it silly!, he said it himself, Uncle Marwin tought Curl how to fight, so that style must've cam from him right?" Amy said

"Yeah, but I've been using Leonel's fighting style so Markus has no Idea it was my original fighting style" Marwin added

The three of them ate and returned to the military base.

Marwin, Markus and Amy went into the Commander's office.

The commander stands and saluted to Marwin, but Marwin just looked at him while the commander is waiting for Marwin to salute back, but Marwin did not, the Commander akwardly returned to his seat.

"umh, yeah I am General Takashi Kato, the appointed Commander of UNAF Japan, it is an honor to have one of the Titans and the Great Generals here, a few days ago General Joshua Aquino of the UNAF Main contacted me saying to prepare for the coming war here in Japan, With all due respect, why are they coming after here?" The General asked

Marwin then took out a hologram cube.

a series of images and documents popped up from the cube.

"They will either Attack Nagoya or Tokyo, I'm not sure about the reason but I'm sure they are attacking, sooner or later, for the last 20 years the Imperial activities have plummeted but about a few months ago, they started to attack more frequently" Marwin said

"Do you know why?" The general asked

"Because they are after the power of the King, pressumably to revive Dratos, Tokyo is the last resting place of Leonel's Red soul while Nagoya is where Leonel Summoned the Excalibur, they started to actively fight us after the king finally have awakened his King's senses, though the king might not know it himself, I know General you can feel the Aura surging from him, your Papers said you are an Esper, it's the same with us Authority Users, I know you can feel it too" Marwin said

"Yeah, I wonder if he's a Titan I guess he is, but unlike him you are hiding your aura well" The general said

"It took practice, General, please do prepare we still have a lot of things to do, for now prepare and arm yourselves, this might be another battle of the ages, I will ask the UN to let the JSDF to join you, I will be back" Marwin said
