The pharmacy workers and pharmacists were unaware of the situation. Rose, Han Huo and Han Tu were on high alert. They silently watched the whole shop from the top floor of the depot.
Rose suddenly felt something strange. While Han Shuo was with her, she had never felt worried about an enemy. It was as if with Han Shuo in the shop, the shop was invulnerable to any attack. But that night, when Han Shuo was gone and she had to take on the responsibility alone, Rose felt a little anxious.
Suddenly, Rose was astonished as she realised that she had unwittingly become dependent on Han Shuo. When Han Shuo was around, she felt that nothing could harm her. But when Han Shuo was not around and she had to take on the role of leader, she felt exposed and unprotected.
Knowing that this was not time to lose focus, Rose temporarily put aside all irrelevant thoughts and focused all her attention on the shadows of the buildings outside the shop, sensing the strength and number of the attackers.
Lately, Rose had become accustomed to dealing with criminals who tried to loot the shop in the middle of the night. The strength and number of the intruders had increased steadily since the first invasion. But since a Highgod intruder had been killed, they had suddenly stopped trying to sneak into the shop. It had been a while since anyone had tried to loot the shop.
Rose thought that the raiders had finally learned to be afraid and wouldn't send themselves to their deaths. She did not expect the raiders to try to loot the pharmacy again that night. She was also surprised that the raiders were led by a Mid-stage Highgod. She knew that a fierce battle was inevitable.
"The leader is a Mid-stage Highgod. I can vaguely sense that he is a lightning energy cultivator. I will hold him back, and you two must take care of the rest. Be extra careful. He's not around and we can't afford to make any mistakes," Rose stressed, her eyebrows knitted together.
"Don't worry about that. We will fight if we can. And if we can't, we'll just run. It's no big deal," Han Tu said laughing, as if the raiders were nothing to be afraid of.
Han Huo nodded in agreement with a smug expression on his face. He believed that with Han Tu, they could easily escape from any danger whenever they wanted.
When Rose saw the two children being so complacent, she wanted to rebuke them, but she held to her own advice. She gave no more advice and continued to silently sense the enemies.
The dimly lit streets were shrouded in a grey mist. The intruders, who had been hiding in the darkness for some time, began to approach the shop. Shadow after shadow moved swiftly towards the Celestial Pearl warehouse.
The warehouse was used to store all kinds of medicine. The raiders thought that all of Han Shuo's personally refined medicines must be stored there. The raiders had also sensed the presence of Rose, Han Tu, and Han Huo. They knew that they would have to go through the three of them before they could get to the Celestial Pearl Pharmacy's special medicines.
"Identify yourselves!" Rose shouted before the moving shadows came close. At that moment, she launched her attack. The divine energy of darkness spread from her body. The elements of darkness gathered and turned into inky black clouds. Threads of darkness overflowed from the dense dark clouds, silently growing and spreading like ink in water.
The sky above the warehouse seemed to be coloured with black ink. What little light there was at night was completely consumed. Within seconds, the area was plunged into total darkness. Threads of dark divine energy gradually spread out in all directions like thousands of tiny streams of water.
The few raiders at the front of their group suddenly felt their arms and legs become incredibly heavy, as if they were filled with lead. Although the threads of dark divine energy could not kill these raiders, it had severely disrupted the normal energy circulation in their divine bodies.
Not only was their movement severely affected, but those who did not cultivate in the energy of darkness had become completely blind. Even though the raiders could not see anything around them and were terribly afraid of being attacked, they continued to advance cautiously.
Unfortunately for the raiders, their worst fears were realised. There was no way that Han Huo and Han Tu would not take advantage of this perfect circumstance to attack them.
While Rose used her dark divine energy to slow down and blind the raiders, Han Tu and Han Huo had silently approached them. Like their creator, Han Huo and Han Tu could see in the dark and were therefore immune to absolute darkness. Created in a unique way, they could locate their targets simply by sensing the life auras of the raiders, without even relying on their visions.
Painful screams began to emanate from the absolute darkness. Those who were hit by Han Huo and Han Tu's sneak attacks dared not scream too loudly and retreated hastily after suffering severe injuries. Two of the raiders who couldn't react to their sneak attacks in time died on the spot.
The raiders who tried to sneak into the shop under the cover of darkness were ironically attacked by Han Huo and Han Tu, who were hiding under Rose's field of absolute darkness.
"Return!" Just as Han Huo and Han Tu were starting to enjoy themselves, the voice of a middle-aged man suddenly ordered the raiders to retreat. The raiders immediately complied and retreated from the area of absolute darkness that Rose had formed.
A man with a tall, large build and broad shoulders appeared. His face was hidden beneath a crude grey-white mask with two holes just wide enough to reveal his glittering eyes. He seemed surprised that the Celestial Pearl had another expert at the Rose level besides Han Shuo. After ordering his mob, who were also wearing strange-looking masks, to retreat, his eyes turned to Rose, who was at the centre of the dissipating dark clouds.
Rose had to expend divine energy to maintain the absolute darkness. Seeing that the raiders had retreated, she did not waste her divine energy on maintaining the field of absolute darkness. She looked at the raiders apathetically and shouted in an icy voice, "Whoever you are, go away! You'll get nothing from here!"
"This is more than looting. You killed my younger brother. I've come to kill you all!" the raider with the grey-white mask replied in an angry voice.
Rose's heart sank as she heard these words, realising that the threat would not be easily resolved. If their only intention was to loot the apothecary, they would most likely retreat in fear of her mighty strength. But since this raider was here for revenge, he was highly motivated to fight to the death!
In the absence of Han Shuo, Rose was unsure if she could defend the pharmacy against such a large group of powerful experts led by a fierce Mid-stage Highgod. If this Mid-stage Highgod were to retreat, Rose would let him go. If not, Rose would have no choice but to fight.
"Who is your brother? Many have died in our shop recently. We have no idea who is who!" Han Huo still wore a bold face even when confronted with this Highgod expert. He even taunted the raiders.
"He came here ten days ago. The one with Early-stage Highgod strength. He's my younger brother!" The man gestured, ordering his gang to disperse as he marched towards Rose, step by step.
"Oh! That dumdum! I remember him! He kept on fighting instead of running after we broke his legs. Hahaha! What a fucking idiot!" said Han Huo, laughing and condescending.
"Kill!" the grey masked raiders shouted as he charged straight at Han Huo. A thick column of thunderbolts, made of pure lightning energy, grew from his palm. At the same time, his Domain of Divinity was unleashed. Tiny lightning bolts meandered around his domain like millions of fry.
"What the hell, don't look for me!" Han Huo cursed loudly as he hurriedly flew towards Rose. Although Han Huo was aggressive and arrogant, he was no fool. He was prepared to scuttle before making a fool of the Highgod Raider.
Rose hesitated no longer and flew down from the top of the building like a dark ghost. A clump of the Aura of Darkness quickly descended on the Highgod of Thunder.
Since both of them were Mid-stage Highgods, they had to use all of their power to fight. A fierce battle began immediately. The two Highgods were so preoccupied with each other that they had no time to think about anything else.
Han Huo and Han Tu dodged the two fighting Highgods and went to fight with the other raiders.
Although the two were only Mid-stage Midgods, their understanding of the energy of fire and earth surpassed that of Highgods. Even when pitted against a dozen or more experts at the same level as themselves, the duo showed no signs of faltering.
Han Huo pulled out his Fire Lotus and it covered him with its petals. He glowed bright red from head to toe, like heated steel. An enormous amount of heat radiated from his body.
The raiders fighting Han Huo felt quite helpless. Since he was covered in fire, they couldn't make any melee attacks or even get close to him. They could only fire ineffective ranged attacks at him.
Those fighting Han Tu felt even more helpless and unbearable. They lost track of him right from the start of the battle.
A hand or an earth spike might suddenly emerge from underground, which could amputate them if they were not careful enough. As they could not locate Han Tu, they could only take defensive measures.
Fighting against Han Huo and Han Tu who employed extraordinary tricks were tormenting. One can't be touched, and another can't be even be seen. How do they even fight against that?
"Haha! Come and hit me, stupid!" Han Huo was laughing and mocking the raiders while weaving crisscrossed through them. He would throw the raging balls of flames from his palms left and right, or perhaps spit fire at them, reducing the raiders' hair and clothes to dust. He had also been greeting their female relatives with foul language.
<i >Chut! An iced arrow that came out of nowhere suddenly landed on Han Huo's back. The arrow clearly came from a highgod. The complacent and arrogant Han Huo suddenly stumbled. The ice-cold aura invading his body made him shiver. His mouth was too busy chattering to continue greeting the raiders with vulgarities.
