Doloxes cultivated in the energy of darkness and possessed Late-stage Lowgod strength. After Han Shuo agreed to a duel, his smiling expression was suddenly replaced by grimness. An austere, sombre aura immediately emanated from his body.
Han Shuo walked step by step to the centre of the gymnasium. He transferred the energy of death from his avatar to his main body and gathered it. Soon, an aura of death that despised life began to emanate from him.
The energies of death and darkness were known for their sinister properties. Han Shuo and Doloxes showed no intention of engaging in close combat. Doloxes took the lead and gently swayed his body, transforming himself into a shadowy figure. The next moment, the shadowy figure split into five duplicates. They were all filled with total darkness and intense divine energy of darkness.
As soon as the five shadow figures appeared, they began to float towards Han Shuo. They would create more blurry shadow figures in the gymnasium as they made their way. It was a bizarre scene.
Those who cultivated in the energy of darkness were the best at hiding their bodies and their presence. In a fight, they would usually use the darkness to obscure their opponent's vision and hide in the darkness. Then they would take advantage of the fact that their opponents had no way of accurately detecting an incoming threat to deliver the killing blow. Their opponents wouldn't know what was coming until it was too late.
Doloxes seemed to be very good at this technique. Several dark, blurry figures circled around Han Shuo constantly, closing in on him inch by inch.
Han Shuo remained on the same ground, standing as straight as a ramrod. He stared at the blurry phantom images that were constantly passing in front of him with calm eyes, not at all disturbed by the phantom images. It was only when the dark figures drew closer that he used the three trump cards of the Death Energy. Clearly, he was taking defensive measures.
The Doloxes produced more and more phantoms, flying and wandering around the gymnasium. They moved faster and faster before the phantoms, numbering in the hundreds, suddenly bombarded Han Shuo from all directions at once.
Han Shuo stayed where he was, on the same floor as before. He watched the phantom figures with cold eyes. Then, just as the first dark figure was about to strike him, like a tree snake pouncing on its prey, Han Shuo suddenly made a move. His two hands created several tides of green waves that drowned a dozen or more phantom figures before he threw a punch directly at a phantom figure floating in the air.
Thud!
Han Shuo's punch landed directly on Doloxes' chest. All the phantom figures instantly vanished without a trace. Since it was a friendly match, Han Shuo held back a little. It was just enough to stop Doloxes' body and cause his phantom images to fail. His blow did not injure Doloxes.
"Huh?!"
"How is that possible? They are in the same realm, but how did he manage to locate Doloxes' real body so accurately?"
"Remarkable. Even with so many phantom shadows, his vision was not confused. Truly remarkable!"
The spectators around the gymnasium commented in low shouts. They all shouted in admiration of this unimaginable blow that Han Shuo had delivered.
Often, in a battle between two experts of the same realm, the phantom figures produced by the expert who cultivates in the energy of darkness should be very elusive to their opponent. Since the phantom figures might contain some of the divine energy of darkness, they could also be used to cause harm. When faced with such a situation, with nearly a hundred phantom figures attacking at once, one would normally have no choice but to take proper, solid defensive measures.
Han Shuo and Doloxes were both in the same realm of Late-stage Lowgod godhood. He shouldn't have been able to detect Doloxes' true body. The scene the crowd had seen had contradicted their common understanding. That was why these observers reacted with such astonishment.
Doloxes was completely stunned. He slowly lowered his head to look at Han Shuo's fist that was stuck to his chest and stared at it as if he could not believe the fact in front of his eyes. Since Han Shuo didn't put too much Divine Death Energy into his punch, Doloxes wasn't hurt in the slightest. After staring blankly for a moment, the radiance of reconciliation blossomed from his eyes.
Unexpectedly, Doloxes unleashed the Divine Energy of Darkness from his chest and sent it into Han Shuo's fist. This caused Han Shuo to suddenly let out a muffled groan.
Han Shuo's heart was instantly filled with rage. Logically, the battle should have ended with Han Shuo being the victor after his attempt at Doloxes' chest. Doloxes should have graciously accepted defeat at that moment instead of taking the opportunity to launch a sneak attack.
Fortunately, Han Shuo's Demon Arts tempered main body was incredibly tough and resilient. Otherwise, he would have been injured by this sudden burst of dark divine energy.
Coldly groaning, Han Shuo let the death energy in his body burst out, forcibly suppressing and pushing back the dark divine energy that Doloxes was sending into his demonic body. Then, with a single thought, using a small amount of demonic yuan, the sharp demonic blades grew violently from Han Shuo's fingernails. The cold blade glowed with a menacing aura.
Whoosh! Han Shuo made an intricate drawing with his left hand. Doloxes was stunned and confused. He couldn't even make out Han Shuo's movements before he suddenly discovered a chilling sensation on his neck. As he rolled his eyes down, Doloxes discovered five ice-cold blades pressing against the main arteries in his neck. It was as if the slightest movement would rip them apart.
Doloxes, who was about to take Han Shuo down with a burst of energy, immediately noticed that Han Shuo was staring at him coldly. His eyes were as cold and callous as the blades pressed against his neck. A tremor ran through Doloxes' heart. He felt as if he could be chopped to pieces by Han Shuo at any moment. So he quickly raised both his hands and shouted, "I have lost. You, friend, are truly formidable!"
"Friend, you have already hit Doloxes with your punch. Why do you need to escalate it further? Don't you think your actions are inappropriate?" Cage said in a deep voice as he slowly walked over. He seemed very displeased.
"My actions are unreasonable?" Han Shuo sneered. While maintaining the position of his hand, he turned his head to give Cage a cold look and said, "You are a midgod. If you were watching closely, you couldn't have missed Doloxes' petty manoeuvre. It is he who did not play by the rules in the first place. But not only did you not mention it, you accuse me of acting improperly? Ah, so this is how your Lavers family treats their guests?"
"Look, put your hand down first. We can talk out any misunderstandings slowly!" When Cage saw Han Shuo's callous face, he thought that Han Shuo would actually murder Doloxes in anger. Therefore, he hastily tried to reconcile with Han Shuo.
"Hey, friend, there's no need to be like this. It's just a friendly match, why so serious!" Zico also immediately stepped forward to resolve the situation when he saw that the situation was getting sour.
"What are you all so nervous about? I'm not thinking about that. I just want to clarify the situation for all of you!" Han Shuo sneered grimly. As he stared at Doloxes with his hands raised in the air, Han Shuo slowly withdrew his Demonic Blades without letting his guard down.
When the Demonic Blades were completely removed from his neck, Doloxes suddenly took several quick steps backwards. The expression on his face instantly changed as he shouted hatefully, "How dare you point sharp weapons at me like that!"
"What is your relationship with Elder Sister? What is your business here in our Laver family?" Cage's face quickly turned dark when Doloxes' life was no longer threatened by Han Shuo. He glared at Han Shuo and asked.
"He's just a Lowgod. Probably one of those who want to get a job under our family through Elder Sister. To be so bold as to use such violence against Doloxes, he must be tired of life!" the attractive looking Eve stood up from her seat and remarked as she glared at Han Shuo with hatred.
"What about that?" Han Shuo took in the expressions of everyone in the gymnasium with a single glance. He looked at Eve with a scornful face and sneered, "If I told you that I'm not Donna's friend, would you immediately attack me to teach me a lesson? Hehehe, you may all have the same family name, but compared to Donna, you all have absolutely no class!"
"What, what did you say?" Eve was furious. She pointed at Han Shuo and shouted angrily, "Say it again, I dare you!"
"Ha, if you want to humiliate yourself, I'll repeat it for you!" Han Shuo wasn't afraid of her and repeated his words with a sneer. Then, when Eve flew into a rage and was about to attack him, Han Shuo suddenly pointed at Teng Fei who was standing next to her and laughed, "Miss Eve, your appearance right now deviates from the proper bearing of a lady born into a noble family. Have you not noticed the disdain and mockery Young Master Teng Fei is displaying?"
Eve was taken aback when she heard Han Shuo's words. Only now did she remember that Teng Fei was standing right next to her. She panicked and hurriedly turned to look at Teng Fei who was wearing an embarrassed expression as Han Shuo had read his mind.
"No, that is not what I was thinking!" Teng Fei forced a smile and explained as he saw Eve looking at him. He then turned to Han Shuo and said with a forced smile, "Friend, please don't drag me into this. I have done nothing to offend you!"
"Zico, please arrest this suspicious fellow. I will personally ask my elder sister about him and find out what in the world this fellow is doing in our house!" Seeing that Han Shuo was able to defuse Eve's attack and even create a small rift between her and Teng Fei with just words, Cage immediately felt that he could no longer let Han Shuo act deliberately and make a scene.
"This... this..." Zico did not know what to do. He didn't dare insult Donna's friend, but at the same time he couldn't disobey Cage's order. He was stuck in indecision.
"I will capture him for young master Cage!" a divine guard with Early-stage Midgod strength cultivating in the energy of destruction, seemingly wanting to curry favour with Cage, loudly answered his command. He charged straight at Han Shuo, as if he was determined to capture Han Shuo at any cost.
An Early-stage Midgod expert was no match for Han Shuo with just the energy of his two avatars. Forced into this situation, Han Shuo began to consider whether or not to use demonic arts.
It was at this moment that Han Shuo suddenly became aware of Donna's aura. He immediately realised that Donna must have come over. But strangely, Han Shuo noticed that Donna did not immediately step forward to help him, as if she had some other intention. With one thought, Han Shuo immediately understood that Donna had doubts about his actual strength and she wanted to use this opportunity to verify her suspicions.
Han Shuo immediately abandoned his thoughts of using demonic arts. He stayed where he was as the divine guard approached. He did nothing but defend himself with the energy of his Avatar of Death. This divine guard did not dare to harm Han Shuo and had only followed Cage's order to capture Han Shuo as he had no idea how close Han Shuo was to Donna.
With Han Shuo deliberately hiding his true strength, in just a few seconds, Han Shuo was brought to a standstill in front of this god.
But just as the divine guard was about to capture Han Shuo, Donna, who had been watching in the dark, finally took action. A streak of shadow suddenly descended into the gymnasium. Pow! The divine guard was sent flying.
Donna, standing in front of Han Shuo, had an angry expression on her lovely face. She glared at the Divine Guardian who had landed on his buttocks and groaned coldly, "You really have the nerve to touch my friend. Tell me, who encouraged you?" The Divine Guardian was shocked by Donna's sudden appearance and unconsciously glanced at Cage.
When Cage saw that Donna was furiously helping Han Shuo out of trouble, he immediately realised that he had underestimated how close the two of them were. Cage tried to avoid eye contact with the divine guard before he chuckled and said, "Elder Sister, why have you come? They are just playing with your boyfriend, what are you so angry about?"
Donna obviously held a high position in the Laver family. Her sudden appearance caused many of the divine guards who were thinking of attacking Han Shuo to abandon that idea. They were even afraid that Donna might find out their intentions.
"Bryan is a friend that I managed to invite here with great difficulty. I think he should have mentioned this to all of you. But who knew that you would dare to arrest him. Have I become a figure of no importance to you all?" Donna said angrily. Her round eyes were wide open as she stared down at every single person in the gymnasium.
"This has nothing to do with me, can you please not stare at me like that?" Teng Fei threw up his hands, hastily indicating his innocence with a forced smile. His glances towards Donna contained undeniable feelings of affection.
"You are no good either. All you know is to watch and laugh at others!" Donna scolded Teng Fei before turning and apologising to Han Shuo, "Bryan, I am sorry. I didn't expect this to happen."
"It's okay, I learned about the arrogance of children born into elite families a long time ago," Han Shuo shrugged and continued with a smile, "You know what, forget about it. I think it's better if I live outside. Honestly, I really can't get used to living in your Laver family!"
"
"Ah?!" Donna began to panic. She knew how wonderful and capable Han Shuo was and sincerely wanted him to join the Laver family. So when she heard those words, she hastily pleaded, "Don't be like that, Bryan. I can assure you that nothing like this will ever happen again! You've only been here a short time and I haven't had a chance to welcome you properly. How could you leave so quickly?"
"My apologies, I really cannot bear to see the faces of certain people. Staying in this place will affect my mood and my cultivation. I have enough black crystal coins to live comfortably even in the City of Shadows. Besides, we will have just as many opportunities to meet in the future. So don't push me to stay any longer!" Han Shuo told Donna firmly. He was determined to draw a line under the Laver family.
"He's just a Lowgod. They are everywhere in the city. Pfft. What's so special about him?" Eve couldn't help but sneer when she saw Han Shuo so indifferent to Donna's plea.
"Shut up!" Donna was already feeling annoyed and the last thing she needed was Eve's contemptuous remark. She shouted at Eve, "You know absolutely nothing about making trouble for this family. When are you going to stop being so unruly and immature and grow up?"
"Sister, you, how could you be so hard on me for that scum! You, you... " Eve put on a wronged expression after being shouted at by Donna. Tears rolled down her cheeks.
"I know the way out, elder sister Donna. Please don't show me out!" Han Shuo had started to walk away from the gymnasium while Donna was berating Eve. He turned back to tell Donna before quickly disappearing from their sight.
"In the future, when he shows his talent and makes a name for himself in the City of Shadows, you will all realise what a terrible mistake you made that day! You lot are..." Donna sighed as she looked resentfully at Cage and the gang before running out to follow Han Shuo. But after leaving the gymnasium, she discovered that Han Shuo had long since disappeared without a trace.
Donna knew that after this incident, after this day, Han Shuo would never consider joining the Laver Family. Her heart was filled with remorse, knowing that the House of Laver had missed out on this great talent.
