With Han Shuo's guidance, Gilbert had finally grasped the evil method of harvesting yin to replenish his yang after half a day.
Gilbert had been very sceptical at first, but slowly began to believe it was true as his body began to change. He still wasn't fully convinced of the magical effects, though, until he really confirmed some things.
"Remember, you can only steal a little bit of Yin energy at a time. You'll kill someone if you take too much." Han Shuo reminded him seriously after Gilbert had fully grasped this new technique.
If the dark methods of harvesting Yin to replenish Yang were used properly and only on one woman at a time, not much harm would come to the woman, but if this technique was used too often or an excess of Yin energy was absorbed, it would harm the woman. In severe cases, her life might even be lost.
Gilbert seemed to understand after Han Shuo's repeated reminders and muttered, "I know. Who knows if this is even useful? I'll let you know after I try it!"
Han Shuo and Gilbert then travelled to the dwarven valley together. Gilbert stayed outside while Han Shuo went in alone to talk to Calvin. He handed Calvin the list of weapons and all the materials needed, and left the valley after their discussions.
With Gilbert present, Han Shuo saved a lot of effort and rode on Gilbert's back. The two of them flew towards the forest trolls' sacred ground in the depths of the Dark Forest.
After flying for half a day, Han Shuo and Gilbert arrived at the place where Datara was worshipped.
The forest trolls guarding the place recognised Han Shuo and didn't stop him, letting him enter freely and taking on the duty of protecting him.
Even though it was the dead of winter, the place of extreme wood had the thriving air of spring in the forest trolls' sacred ground. Lush undergrowth, towering trees, and tall shrubs all grew exceptionally well. Flowers bloomed in enchanting shades of red and purple, filling the valley air with a fresh scent of green.
As far as the eye could see, there was only one bright green colour. All the plants were growing so perfectly and incredibly strong. A thick earth qi permeated the surroundings. The towering trees covered the sky, and the ancient roots of the trees intertwined with great force. This was why the forest trolls had built their sacred ground on these trees.
When he arrived, Han Shuo ordered all the forest trolls to leave the area. He then took to the skies and observed the layout of the land and the elements. Using Chu Cang Lan's memories, he identified a few key landmarks before landing on the roots of an ancient tree.
This tree was the oldest and largest of all the trees in this place of extreme wood. It was several dozen metres high. Its richly intertwined branches were filled with light green, and life blossomed in abundance from its twigs. It looked quite old.
Han Shuo stared at the tree for a long time and finally said apologetically, "I'm sorry, you've taken the best spot. You must give up the earth qi you've absorbed. I can only sacrifice you!"
He sent out a beam of light from his body, concentrating it in his hand, and acted without hesitation, beginning to dig at the roots of the ancient tree.
"Honoured Master, do you need my help? Gilbert asked enthusiastically as he saw Han Shuo start to dig at the roots of the ancient trees.
Han Shuo thought for a moment and nodded, stopping the movement of his hands. "No need, but thank you for reminding me. With the Earth Elite Zombie, I don't need to do any of this myself!"
He chanted an incantation as soon as he'd finished speaking, summoning the little skeleton and two other dark creatures.
The little skeleton's bones were translucent, as if made of jade. A faint glimmer of soul shone through its purple eye. As he stood there with his bone dagger in his hand, a natural sense of danger emanated from him. The seven bone spurs on his back gave others an extremely bad feeling, as if they were seven weapons waiting to harvest their lives.
The Earth Elite Zombie's eyes glowed with the same yellow-brown light that emanated from his body. The light covered the armour of its body like a thick layer of dirt. It blinked its eyes and seemed to be looking at Han Shuo with confusion. It seemed to be saying, "Why did you summon me?"
From the appearance of the little skeleton and the Earth Elite Zombie, Han Shuo could tell that the two of them seemed to be constantly evolving - especially the little skeleton. It gave Han Shuo a strange feeling. Ever since the little skeleton had gained his own sentience, he had begun to act more and more purposefully, forming a strange kind of demeanour with his posture.
"I have a mission for you. Make 49 holes of the same size in the area and then connect them with moats!" Han Shuo thought for a moment and then spoke to the blinking Earth Elite Zombie.
The honest zombie nodded shyly and then continued to blink at Han Shuo without making a move. It seemed to be waiting for further instructions.
Pausing, Han Shuo reacted immediately. He sat down cross-legged and began to search through his memories. His brain seemed to be a miraculous machine, as the layout of the entire place of Extreme Wood immediately appeared in his mind, showing the location of all 49 holes according to Chu Cang Lan's memories, and superimposed them onto the scene in front of him.
By the time Han Shuo had completed this process, a complete schematic was in his mind. At Han Shuo's next command, the earth elite zombie dived into the ground.
The entire place of Extreme Wood suddenly began to shake violently, as if a sinuous earth dragon was travelling underground. The earth shook and the mountains trembled as hills were formed. The earth elite zombie was like a little dragon playing leisurely among the rippling waves of the huge sea. A hole, large or small, would appear whenever it emerged from the ground.
The Earth Elite Zombie was the most efficient and miraculous construction worker as it worked, accompanied by rumbling sounds. It perfectly recreated the scene in Han Shuo's mind, using its own strength and natural command over the earth.
In a very short time, the entire place of extreme wood had undergone tremendous changes. 49 holes had appeared and hundreds, if not thousands, of ravines connected the network of holes.
It was an exact replica of the scene in Han Shuo's mind! To have done it so perfectly in such a short amount of time, and with the power of one, the Earth Elite Zombie was probably the only character who could do it.
"Amazing, too amazing. This guy is too amazing!" Gilbert looked at the Earth Elite Zombie in complete shock. This guy had caused such a thorough change in such a short time!
"Now you know his strength, huh? The Earth Elite Zombie is the favoured son of earth. As an assassin, it can hide under the ground and escape through the ground if its attack fails. Even if someone dodges his attacks, they won't be able to capture him. Han Shuo laughed heartily with pride and glanced sideways at Gilbert.
Having done all this, the Earth Elite Zombie emerged from the largest hole. The thick clods of earth were like pure air to him, incapable of creating the slightest obstacle. He seemed to emerge from water, giving others an extreme visual impact.
He took a large amount of material from his space ring and filled the empty ground in front of him. There were so many items that they eventually formed a small mountain. He then used his mental links with the small skeleton and the Earth Elite Zombie to place the numerous materials into the holes in a specific order.
After everything was done, Han Shuo sighed comfortably, "All the ingredients have been placed inside, there's only one thing missing now."
"Why is this hole empty and nothing has been placed inside?" Gilbert looked at everything around him with interest. He looked around after Han Shuo had finished speaking and noticed that there was a hole the size of a human right next to Han Shuo. It happened to be next to the oldest and largest tree root.
"Huh, that hole is the centre of the formation and only the master can enter it!" Han Shuo rolled his eyes at Gilbert and explained randomly.
As soon as he'd finished speaking, he began chanting, summoning a few zombies and deciding to use the same method of having them fight each other to select a suitable candidate.
However, just as Han Shuo was about to do so, the Earth Elite Zombie hastily shook his hand and walked in front of Han Shuo, blinking frantically as he tried to convey something to Han Shuo.
He also waved at the little skeleton, miming and gesturing as he talked to the little skeleton, seemingly wanting the little skeleton to convince Han Shuo as well.
Han Shuo was surprised and held his breath in concentration, looking closely at the Earth Elite Zombie and the little skeleton, slowly trying to understand the message the two were sending.
The earth elite zombie seemed to understand what Han Shuo was about to do and continued to wave his hands around. After communicating with the little skeleton, the little skeleton also responded and joined the Earth Elite Zombie in the explanation. Short, jumbled bursts of messages continued to be delivered to Han Shuo's mind.
After a while, Han Shuo looked at them in surprise. "You mean you have a suitable candidate?"
The Earth Elite Zombie and the little skeleton both nodded vigorously upon hearing these words. The little skeleton even walked next to the zombie warriors Han Shuo had summoned and beat them up a bit, knocking them all to the ground.
The little skeleton then stood proudly in front of them and gestured nobly with his puffed out chest. He seemed to be saying, "These guys are trash. They're not worthy of such amazing treatment.
Han Shuo finally understood after watching for a while. He nodded and smiled, "Alright, I'll send you both back and give you some time to catch the zombie warrior of your choice. I'll try to summon the three of you together afterwards!"
The small skeleton and the earth elite zombie all nodded their heads firmly after Han Shuo had spoken. He could sense the joy and excitement in their hearts.
Smiling, Han Shuo gave them a few reminders and sang again, sending them back to their old home. His heart was filled with surprise. He hadn't thought that the little skeleton and the earth elite zombie would behave so interestingly.
"These low level dark creatures have their own intelligence now?" Gilbert was stunned as he sighed in astonishment at Han Shuo.
"Don't say those words in front of them or they will definitely get angry. They might even beat you up. You're beyond the reach of the dark creatures now. I don't think even high-level dark creatures have the amazing powers they have!" Han Shuo glanced at Gilbert to warn him against speaking foolish words around them.
After a short while, Han Shuo felt the summoning of the little skeleton from the other plane and chanted the incantation again to summon them both again.
A light flashed by as the little skeleton and the earth elite zombie carried a thin, frail, yet extremely tall zombie in their arms. The zombie was as thin as a bamboo shoot and had a green face. There was no light in his pupils. It was obvious that he could only obey commands.
The little skeleton and the earth elite zombie shouldered the skinny zombie warrior, despite the discrepancy in their heights. One was tall, the other short, they made a comical sight.
The little skeleton pointed at the new zombie warrior to Han Shuo's surprise and gestured as if to say, "He's one of us!"
