CHAPTER 130: Full Speed Improvement

Bone Prison was a spell that journeyman necromancers had to master. When used skilfully, it would create certain conditions for dark creatures, making it easier for them to defeat their enemies.

Han Shuo spent the next three days practising the Bone Prison spell alone in the cemetery behind the mountains at the back of the Academy. His determination and the intelligence he had gained after opening his brain allowed Han Shuo to gain a clearer understanding of the innate nature of necromancy magic.

Some magical theories that had been obscure and difficult to understand, or that Han Shuo had had to contemplate for a long time to understand, had become easy to understand because Han Shuo's mind had become incomparably clear. He could quickly understand many concepts when he put his mind to it.

In a short three days, his use of the Bone Prison spell had gone from constant failure to occasional release. During this time, he also began officially practising another spell, Bone Shield. His speed of learning surprised even himself.

Clapclapclap.

The sound of applause rang out in the distance as the well-rounded and seductive Emily appeared in the distance with a slight smile and slowly approached Han Shuo.

Stopping his magic practice, Han Shuo looked at Emily and said, "I have already met Candide. Who would have thought that your identity in the Dark Mantle is so high? Looks like your mission will involve me."

"Hehe, my mission will require you to communicate with the forest trolls anyway. Even though I don't have as high a status as that old fox Candide, he still had to do me this favour when I brought it up with him. Now that you've joined this mission, I'll give you most of the credit when it's done. Perhaps your status within the Dark Mantle will rise another two stars as a result. Emily naturally reached out to put her hands around Han Shuo's shoulders as she stood in front of him and spoke to him in a seemingly fawning manner.

He was on the verge of complimenting Emily when Han Shuo suddenly remembered what Candide had said and was wary of Emily's other identity. He suddenly looked at her with a not so pleasant expression, "When I went to see Candide this time, he told me a bit about your true identity and told me to be careful not to get into unnecessary trouble. I knew then that you were Master Aymes' blood sister. But I still don't know much about your other identity. Can you tell me now?"

Emily's face changed slightly as Han Shuo spoke. She looked deeply at Han Shuo, then sighed softly and said, "It seems that Candide holds you in high esteem, and he's scared to death that I might lie to you. Well, since that's the case, I won't have to hide things from you. I've been married for many years, but my husband went to war right after we were married and died on the battlefield. I've been a widow until now."

Han Shuo fell silent after Emily's words and finally spoke after a while, "It looks like that person's status must be high to warrant such a reminder from Candide."

Nodding, Emily said, "Yes, but that person is already dead and there's nothing much to discuss. Because of my involvement with the Dark Mantle, I had to carry out some missions after his death, and my actions were a little strange because of the missions. As a result, my reputation in the upper echelons of society in the Empire has been somewhat tarnished."

"Why do you say that?" Han Shuo looked at Emily and asked weakly.

Emily shook her head disapprovingly as she said with a dejected look, "Just like when you saw me just now and thought I was a wanton woman, because of my status as a widow, it was inevitable that some gossip would start because I had to come into contact with people while carrying out Dark Mantle missions."

Han Shuo had taken Emily's virginity. So while others might not believe her, Han Shuo had no choice but to believe her. She was in such a dejected mood right now that Han Shuo unconsciously reached out and hugged her, tenderly saying, "I don't care what other people think, but I took your innocence from you, and of course I know that you are not what they say you are. Don't worry, I won't be influenced by such words.

Shaking her head with some gratitude, Emily said despondently, "Candide's words reminded me, it looks like I have to face reality. With your strength and rate of improvement, your future is unparalleled. But because of the peculiarities of my status, it seems that I can only maintain a subterranean relationship with you. Anything else would be of no benefit to either of us.

Han Shuo was well aware of the meaning behind Emily's words. It was just like when Emma had reminded him to be careful about the relationship between him and Fanny. There were some unavoidable taboos that had to do with status in this world. If the rules were challenged, there would be severe repression.

He kissed Emily as she lay in his arms -

Han Shuo spoke coolly with a dark face, "Don't worry, I won't force you to hide for the rest of your life! One day, we'll be able to interact in the open. I don't dare because I haven't climbed high enough yet. If my status is enough to decide everyone's life or death, I think everyone will shut up or wish us well if they ever open their mouths.

Emily's face lit up with joy upon hearing these words as she turned Han Shuo's embrace around to hug him tightly. She said with emotion, "You can do it, I believe you!"

After a round of embracing, Emily spoke to Han Shuo with a hot flushed body, "Hurry up and deal with the forest trolls. The people from the McGrady Guild have already contacted the merchants who deal with the forest trolls, and they're on their way to the Dark Forest. They're planning to buy the siege load. You need to get the forest trolls to sell the weapons to them."

Nodding to indicate his understanding, Han Shuo thought for a bit and said, "I have a good relationship with a bandit. He wants to do this mission with us, can we possibly include him?"

"No problem. I'm in charge of this mission, and many of my people are already on it. It makes no difference if another one joins us. If he's trustworthy, I'll use him as soon as I get back. That way I can contact you through him while you're at the Academy. After all, it's not entirely appropriate for me to contact you directly at school with my identity. Emily was quite open as she immediately agreed to Han Shuo's suggestion.

"Alright, he's called Chester and should be the guard in charge of the northern fortress from now on. If you have any instructions and are not free to venture out and take action yourself, let him do it. I'll leave for the Dark Forest as soon as possible. Go about your business in peace." Han Shuo opened his mouth to speak to Emily.

"Okay, I'll let you know if anything comes up. Don't worry, I'm confident that I can complete this mission quickly this time." Emily left after saying these words.

After Emily left, Han Shuo thought for a while and walked towards the Boozt Merchant Guild. It was still two days until Han Shuo's appointed time with Phoebe. But the days seemed to be getting colder and Han Shuo was a bit worried that the dwarves would run out of rations and necessities. He planned to make a trip to the Cemetery of Death and see to it that the dwarves had the rations they needed to get through the winter.

Now that he had a space ring of greater capacity, he would only have to make one trip to get everything done. Adding to that the fact that he would have to visit the forest trolls in a few days and prepare the same rations and necessities, he should probably take care of the dwarves first. There were more forest trolls, so it was likely that the space ring wouldn't hold enough rations to take care of everything in one trip.

He made his way to the Booz Merchant Guild, but didn't get to see Phoebe today. Fabian was the one to greet him instead. He learned from Fabian that Phoebe was out today, and because of Han Shuo's relationship with Fabian, they could take care of the matter regarding the rations even if Phoebe wasn't present.

With Phoebe now in charge, Fabian's status within the guild had risen accordingly. He took Han Shuo to the warehouse where the rations were stored and the warehouse was opened under his command. They filled Han Shuo's space ring with the rations Phoebe had previously prepared for Han Shuo.

"Mm, tell Phoebe for me that I need more. Please have her prepare them for me and we'll settle up immediately when I come by in two days." Han Shuo said with a smile as he looked at Fabian.

"Heh heh, no problem. With our relationship, I can take care of a little thing like this. Don't worry." Fabian spoke happily to Han Shuo as he promised.

"It looks like Mr Fabian's role within the guild is becoming more and more important." Han Shuo was surprised to see Fabian agree so easily.

"Not at all, not at all, this is all thanks to you. If it wasn't for you, I don't think I would have made my way up so easily. The reason Miss Phoebe thinks so highly of me is also because I introduced you to her, I think. To be honest, I really have to thank you. Heh heh, even my nephew Jack has benefited from meeting you. You truly bring us great happiness." Fabian looked at Han Shuo as he spoke seriously.

"You are too polite, please say hello to Jack for me and tell him I stopped by. However, I'm a bit busy today and don't have time to chat." Han Shuo exchanged a few pleasantries with Fabian and left with a smile.
