"A lot of surprises happening today." Saint Kieran said with an amused lift to his voice. They all watched the place where Ryfus should be, the place where his skill had just eaten through, leaving a jagged hole.
While all they watched, Ryfus had teleported away without fanfare, no flash of light or shimmer. He was there and he wasn't.
Aurelius grunted and growled, his eyes like that of a wild beast. "I don't like this."
"Uncle, he can still be here! Maybe he turned invisible. You know he kept pulling tricks!" Aldor said he was glaring around the room as if he could spot the invisible man.
Even though he knew it was useless, Aurelius still sniffed. As a shapeshifter, his senses were higher than most beasts and monsters. He couldn't smell Ryfus's scent anywhere near or feel his aura.
He saw the man disappear after all.
