Then, the cloaked man sent [text] on the interface, which appeared on Miss Malt's grey-white screen at the same time.
In that grey-white window, a string of text appeared following a username [Cloak Person].
After that, Miss Malt typed a response.

The earliest forums were just like this, without avatars or pictures, merely a chatroom with a simple personal ID and an unadorned, even somewhat ugly, single-colored background.
