Out of that darkness came a pure white light, the floating figure of Imperia appeared. Anyone could say she was beautiful if not for the fact that she's a banshee.

"Welcome new years, that last speech was a test to see who among you is the bravest and deserves and will lead you during this first year. Caleb Umbra, Scarlet Umbra, Airdan Dorfir, Selenia Silverclove, and Zeka Inanis will each have their own tribe. Tribes compete against each other and at the end of the year, the tribe with the most points will win unique and original spells from the teachers. Each tribe will be composed of around ten thousand students and the names of the tribe will be decided by the tribe head now."

She then looked at Caleb and a silver light surrounded him making him the second figure illuminated in the dark.

"My tribe will be named "Obsidian Phantom"

These words caused an uproar from the crowd behind them, it was indeed a very good name. One by one the other four students named their own tribes and soon they all had their names.

"Now, everyone will be assigned a tribe randomly and everything they do will add or subtract points from their tribe. Welcome to Reaper Academy"

The lights returned and a banquet was laid before their eyes, everyone started eating and talking amongst themselves. As they exited the dining hall they were given a card similar to the Echo card they have.

They were then directed to their respective classrooms for the introductory class. They walked through the halls of the academy and finally reached a classroom. The inside of the classroom was normal, it had tables and chairs in a semicircle way and was made of the same black material as the rest of the academy. Caleb sat down at the back of the classroom as it was the higher row. He liked to look down on others.

Their class had around a hundred students, all of different races, sizes, builds, genders, etc. After a few minutes, a man in his twenties with green hair and a pair of translucent wings walked into the classroom. He was a fairy.

"Hello students, my name is professor Indigo, I will answer your questions and give you a brief introduction to life at school. First of all, you must have received an ID card, here you can see your name, year, tribe, class, rank, points, and tokens. I believe I don't have to explain your name and year do I? Your tribe has been assigned as random and cannot be changed until next year. Your class is where you will be taking lessons, it is this classroom, classroom 5. Every student starts at rank Z, just like a mercenary, you will have to take on quests to raise this rank, this takes us to points and tokens. Points are for your tribe, the more points you accumulate, the higher your status in the tribe will be, the tokens are the school currency, you will gain them in the same way you increase your rank and you will be able to exchange them for equipment and other necessities inside the school.

Your elements will remain a secret so you can study as much as you want if you have the time, however, do know that all the elements you chose will be evaluated in the exams and you will have grades. Now onto the class system. As you well know, there are five classes, mages, warriors, rogues, hunters, and supports. In two years you will choose a class and then a specialization, so do not worry about that for now. Here is a map of the school which has your dormitories labeled. Now off you go, you have the day free to explore the academy."

◇What the hell that was not a class, he just babbled for less than ten minutes◇

As they were walking around the school for a couple of minutes they realized that their school card could change and show them either a map or arrows pointing in the direction they wanted to go. They wandered to the library, the gardens and through different levels of the castle where labs and other rooms could be seen, they just needed to think of something and their card would lead them to it unless it was either another student's room or out of limits to first years.

At the end of the day they crossed the gardens and arrived at one of the first year's towers. It was not a big tower from the outside but as soon as they stepped in they were awed. As they had isolated themselves they hadn't come in contact with other types of magic apart from the one they could perform so this display of spatial magic really wowed them.

The space itself was like a reception of a five stars hotel, it had black carpets covered by a thin layer of fog and walls which at the bottom were white and gradually became grey and finally black, the ceiling was pitch black with a few stars which made it seem like the sky, it had a long hallway in the middle and two on the sides. Even though it was mostly black, it was well lit by silver light stones embedded in the walls.

The arrow then led them to their room on the lowest floor of the tower. The door was not visible but as soon as they put their hand on the wall it split in two and let them inside a big room with four beds and four couches in the middle, it looked like a compass with each bed painting in a separate direction. There were two other people in the room sitting across each other chatting. When Caleb entered the room, both their heads turned, staring at him.
