Suffering

More than a decade ago...

Ronaldo and Evelynn stood in the dimly lit training room, twin sai in hand.

"Your stance is wrong," Ronaldo said, his voice firm. "Twin sai's require precision and speed. You have the former, but not the latter. You need to train your body to become one with the weapon."

Evelynn shifted uneasily, sweat already beading on her forehead. "This is pretty tiring," she complained.

"We have not even started yet," Ronaldo said. "How do you expect to fight the vampires or Weres or the Demons if you can't even handle a little training?"

The sorceress scowled, "I could use this time in learning a new spell."

"A twin sai is a valuable weapon," Ronaldo said, his grip on her wrist firm. "It's light and easy to conceal. Think about it."

He moved closer to her, adjusting her posture with a deft hand. "Your stance is bad. Here," he said, placing his hand on her waist and guiding her into the correct position.
