We Have Rules

Ethan

"Does the boy not want to marry or have children with you?" he frowned.

I shrugged, "I used to think so. He wore my engagement ring for a while but gave it back to me. I messed up. I will not blame him for that one but it definitely adds doubt."

"Do you think he will want to marry?"

I opened my mouth to answer him but closed it. Demyan and I discussed being married all the time. The wedding, the ceremony, the rings and just in general the big day but the future always seemed so hazy. Originally Demyan would retire when we got married so we could start having children. We wanted children within months but back then he was only nineteen. I did not think he understood what retiring from ballet would entail.
