The Circle of Life

Ethan

Eli, Belli and Eli all held hands as they skipped in front of us as their hands swung back and forth. They were singing a song they had clearly bonded over which was the cutest sight.

Demyan and I held fishing gear as we smiled at them as they would constantly stop to marvel at something. Then Belli would try to explain to them what it was in her fragments of broken English and Dutch. I had been bringing her to the farm more times than I could count. The city was not the greatest place to raise a child and I wanted her to be as in tune with nature as I was.

Every time we came she noticed something different and I would take my time in helping her understand what it was. I felt proud to watch her try to share her knowledge with Eli and Lia who looked completely engrossed.

"She's just like you," Demyan smiled as we walked.
