Taking Off

Demyan

Ethan tightly held my hand as we looked at the ultrasound machine as Dr Meyers scanned to see if there was any reason on why I was struggling to fall pregnant. From what we knew Ethan was in perfect health and I was the unknown.

The one thing that felt weird was being on the receiving end of the scan. I was always holding Malia's hand whilst she was the one laying down nervous out of her mind. It felt strange if I had to admit and Ethan's face mirrored mine when I was standing in his spot.

"Well," Meyers dragged out as he clicked a few more buttons. I constantly hoped we would see something small floating about but there was absolutely nothing. Maybe only what I ate for lunch. "You look like you're in perfect health Demyan, I don't see anything wrong."

I deflated against the bed, "Then why isn't it taking off?"
