Vasilisa left the room as she cried with EJ following hot on her heels. I did not think anyone was okay after hearing what Demyan had just said. He probably would not even remember what he had just said but I believed it would be permanently tattooed in my mind no matter how hard I tried.

Uncle Vasili could barely stand as he sat on the chair with his face resting in his hands as he cried. Uncle Edward looked like a shell of himself as he stood next to the bed staring at Demyan for what felt like forever.

No one could speak. Not after what he had just said. The pain- the pain in his voice so audible it felt like I had ripped out his heart without even trying.

"I think everyone needs to vacate the room," Doctor Van der Walt frowned after he had injected sleeping medication into Demyan's IV to knock him out. "He won't get any better under such severe stress. He's in panic and he needs to come out of it slowly."
