Chapter 23: Blood spirit grass and Fantasy rock

The previous fight also made Allen realize the importance of a weapon. He decided that if the conditions are favorable, he should try to master a weapon.

When he was still moving in the wilderness while thinking about his choice of weapon, Allen was suddenly startled by a fishy smell.

Looking around, he was on the edge of a swamp and there was white mist floating on some places in the swamp reducing the visibility around.

He could only observe around 20 meters of his surroundings and at some places, it was less than 10 meters.

He contemplated for a second and decided that he would enter the swamp.

After all, for others, it might be tough to find monsters in the swamp but for him, with the help of the radar, as long as he was careful and conduct the exploration slowly, he could easily explore his surroundings and have a bountiful harvest.

He heard that compared to other places in wilderness, places like swamps, deep valleys and other dangerous places are more rich in natural resources compared to other places.

This kind of situation is due to frequent exploration by hunters in places where the danger level is not too high. As the dangerous are visited less often by them, in the end they became rich in both resources and danger.

So, if he could explore these areas, he could find both monsters for killing and medicinal herbs that haven't been harvested by humans for many years.

The only problem is that the average strength of monsters in these regions is also high. Only monsters that are powerful can occupy the resources of these dangerous regions where these is no need to share the resources with humans.

After making sure that there are no monsters in the vicinity, he stepped into the swamp.

The edge of the swamp is not too deep and but the depth increased exponentially after moving 20 meters into the swamp.

Alligators, frogs, and many other animals live in these swamps. The tall trees root system and cypress knobs provide a rich, sheltered habitat for nesting birds, as well as fish, amphibians and reptiles.

He didn't dare to go deep into the swamp and started exploring the shallow waters. He didn't have any experience about fighting in water and might just become a meal for a weak aquatic creature if he was carelessly dragged into the deep waters.

After walking for nearly half a kilometer along the edge of the swamp, Allen suddenly found a blood red grass growing near the trunk of a sharp thorn tree through the fog.

Looking at this scene, Allen was a little stunned.

He recognized the grass as the blood spirit grass which is one of the main ingredients of the Invigoration potion commonly used by the martial artists to restore the energy in their body.

But, the main reason for his astonishment was that the blood spirit grass was supposed to grow only in environment rich with spirit energy.

Although the concentration of spirit energy in the outer fringes of the wilderness is richer than the concentration in the city, it is nowhere near the level where blood spirit grass can be grown.

This situation made him quite curious.

After the shock subsided, Allen quickly focused on the radar to check for any nearby threats.

After the radar indicated the lack of any monsters in the surroundings except for the tiny insects which are quite common in the swamps, Allen slowly approached the blood spirit grass.

It took quite a bit of effort for him to cross the branches of the sharp thorn tree which is completely filled with barbs.

The sharp thorn tree can be considered an odd ball among the trees that normally grow in swamps.

This growth process of this tree is quite strange which starts from a seed which looks like a thorn. The seed grows into a thick sharp thorn and this sharp thorn will branch out into branch thorns along the way and sharp thorns will once again emerge from these branches.

The thorns are very sharp and if not for their insufficient strength, they would have been very popular and a pretty good choice for making spears and other sharp weapons.

Still, the thorns are a very good choice of hidden weapons for martial artists who are quite poor and cannot purchase good weapons.

He was quite surprised to see the grass growing on a black colored stone. The stone is faintly glowing in the water with a orange and red glow.

He removed the grass carefully by digging them carefully from the surroundings along with the black stone.

The black stone is smooth to touch with an irregular shape. it is very heavy and is twice the size of his thumb.

The stone is slightly transparent and Allen could faintly see some red mist flowing inside and there is also a faint orange glow at some places.

"Wow! It's a fantasy stone!" Allen exclaimed and hurriedly checked his surroundings. After that, he immediately put the plant along with the stone into the system inventory.

The reason for his hurry is that both these things are very attractive to monsters and humans and some sensitive monsters might even be attracted here due to them.

There are some minerals and ores in the nature which have very high affinity for spirit energy and these minerals slowly absorb the spirit energy in the surroundings and transform themselves. Spirit energy changes their internal structures and some of these ores will transform into ores with peculiar properties.

These ores are called fantasy stones.

They are quite magical and they even have a chance of being transformed into transformed into spirit stones, elemental stones etc..,

Fantasy stones are loaded with spirit energy and some of these stones even absorb the energy from the stars are very beneficial for both the cultivation of humans as well as plants and are used by various organizations.

The value of a fantasy stone depends on the amount and quality of spirit energy they contain.

Normally, Fantasy stones are divided into 7 grades based upon the visible spectrum which can be inferenced from the rainbow.

Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and Violet where Red fantasy stones contain energy of lower quality and Violet fantasy stones contain higher quality spirit energy. Once the concentration of the spirit energy reaches a certain degree, these fantasy stones will be slowly transformed into spirit stones.

As for the quantity of the spirit energy, It depends on the amount of the spirit mist inside the fantasy stones.

Taking the fantasy stone Allen had just obtained, it was considered quite valuable as the size of the fantasy stone is quite big even though the quality of the spirit energy is only red.

Allen searched in the surroundings for any more stones but was quite disappointed to find none of them.

Just when he gave up and was about to continue his exploration along the shore of the marsh, he suddenly heard a sound and was shocked to discover a thick black python swimming towards him ferociously while parting the swamp as if it was water.

The python was so big that he could observe it from a distance of around 30-40 meters.

The speed of the python is very fast and it was just 10 meters away from him in 2 seconds.

Allen could not find any place to hide and in a hurry, he climbed up the sharp thorn tree without minding for his injuries.

The black python came to a stop beside the sharp thorn tree and slowly stood up from the muddy swamp and look coldly at Allen.

The Black python was around 4 to 5 meters in length from his estimation and looked quite strong.

Looking from the thick bulge in its body, it seemed like it just had a meal and rusher over here without digesting it.

The python attempted to climb up the tree but failed miserably due to the thick bulge in its body and every time it tried, it was scratched by the thorns.

Even though the injuries are not deep, they are numerous and looked quite painful.

It immediately started pacing around the tree anxiously as if to find an opening though which it could approach Allen but to no avail.

This made Allen release a sigh of relied and he started treating his injuries with the first aid equipment.

After he was done with the basic treatment, he was not surprised to find the python still in the surroundings.
