Battling Steel Tusk Boars

Once into the Mountain Pass, Felix felt a little lost as to where to go. Thousand Stream, who was supposed to guide him, had told him he needed some time to find Isaiah within the area, and left without another word.

So not knowing where to go, Felix picked a random direction, and followed it.

He did not want to remain stationary, as he would certainly end up getting besieged by Blue Light's men.

Felix was confident in his strength, but he would be a fool if he believed he would be able to take on all of Blue Light by himself.

Granted, only a couple thousand of their members were present in the valley, but not only were they elite members of the guild, but even a couple thousand was way too many for him to take care of.

In any case, it didn't take long for Felix to find something to pass the time. A group of players.

However, Felix did not attack right away, as he saw something quite peculiar. Patrolling next to the players was also a group of five monsters. Yet the two sides ignored each other.

Felix could understand the players not attacking, as they were about Level 30 while the five monsters were well above it.

[Steel Tusk Boar, Level 38, Common]

[Steel Tusk Boar, Level 42, Common]

[Steel Tusk Boar, Level 39, Common]

[Steel Tusk Boar, Level 39, Common]

[Steel Tusk Boar, Level 41, Common]

While only of Common Rarity, these were Level 40 monsters, or close to it, and from the looks of it, they weren't friendly. Yet, they completely ignored the Blue Light players for a reason Felix did not get.

Felix wouldn't get much time to ponder the issue though as the boars were coming his way, sniffing the air. He would soon be discovered.

Since Felix was not being filmed though, he did not have to sacrifice efficiency for show as he broke into a sprint, heading for the players.

Felix easily passed by the boars, and while the players spotted him, he was already forming his first attack by the time they noticed him.

A large Runic Circle appeared before Felix, and as the Runes filled in, a shockwave was sent into the small group of ten players.

They clearly didn't expect such a Spell as they were forced a step back, their head ringing. Felix used the opportunity to cut three of them down with Skera while another Runic Circle appeared above them, this one facing the ground.

Before they could call for reinforcement, or even try to attack Felix, another shockwave came from above, worsening the ringing in their heads as half of those left were forced to their knees, the rest not in a much better shape.

As for Felix, who was also under the spell, a 'Shield' Rune had appeared above him right before the Spell activated.

With three more swipes of his spear, Felix took the lives of five more players, leaving only two of them. They were noticeably stronger than the others, having managed to keep themselves standing from the two shockwaves and protecting themselves from another attack.

Felix wanted to go for the attack, but he felt the ground under him tremor, as he felt one of the boars, the Level 42, charging at his back. Felix dodged the charge by double jumping, but the boar showed poor control over its course as it did not stop and ended up crashing into one of the two remaining players, impaling him with its tusks.

The last player from Blue Light alive, a Level 33 Swordswoman, already had a Communication Token out as she spoke their location.

That was the last thing she managed to say before Skera pierced through her head, killing her as she was trying to run away.

Now, Felix was left with five Steel Tusk Boars, and he had to kill them before reinforcements arrived.

He dodged another charge as he thought of the best way to deal with them, and after a moment he got next to one of the Level 39 Boars, and swiped at its legs.

However, the damage was sub par as the boar still stood strong as it tried to bash into Felix, who was forced to dodge. Freeing one hand, he placed his palm right in front of the boar's face, and used his glove's Skill, Dark Bolt.

A bolt of Dark Mana manifested in front of his hand and smashed directly into the face of the boar, stunning it. Unfortunately, Felix wasn't able to deal the finishing strike as another boar came charging at him, forcing him to dodge.

As he did, he noticed the five boars were quite close to each other, so he moved a hand to his bag, taking out the Staff of Long Winter, and he cast Winter Wrath.

Suddenly, an ice blue sphere appeared around the boars, trapping them within. At the same time, a Runic Circle appeared on the edge of the Spell, and out of it came several water balls.

As they entered the radius of Winter Wrath, they nearly instantly froze over as they turned into ice balls, which smashed into the boars.

The two spells worked in combination as Felix did more damage than with any of his attacks before. Winter Wrath, by itself, was quite the strong Spell, dealing 40 Ice Damage per second, and silencing the targets.

As for the ice balls, although they didn't deal as much damage, they considerably slowed down the boars, and for two of them, even crushed one of their legs.

Winter Wrath went on for ten seconds, at the end of which the fight had drastically changed. Two of the boars, the Level 42 and a Level 39, had failed to escape because one of their legs was injured, and although they did not die from the Winter Wrath, they were out of combat and at the edge of death.

As for the three remaining ones, although they weren't as much as in a bad shape, they were noticeably slower than before, and they had lost a portion of their HP.

The disappearance of the spell signaled the start of the second round as the boars charged at Felix, while he manifested a Runic Circle in front of himself.

Out of it came a bolt of lightning that struck the boar in the lead, making it twitch as it lost control of its body, enough for its legs to buckle and make it fall.

The one right behind, who was mid charge, could not stop as its tusks pierced into the butt of the fallen boar, injuring one of them and stopping the second.

Suddenly, only a single boar was left charging towards Felix, and that he could easily handle. Using a 'Push' Rune to dodge the boar's charge, he directly used another to run after it. He felt some pain from the sudden shift he forced on his body, but he gritted his teeth through it as he arrived next to the boar that was slowing down.

Felix stabbed into the boar's side, the blade piercing into the tough hide of the beast. It didn't go very deep, but it was enough for Felix as he used his Mana for two different things at once. One was to form a Runic Circle right above his blade and the boar, while the second was fueled into his spear, to activate its skill.

The boar squealed in pain as the spear tried to extend into its flesh, and while there was too much resistance for the spear to reach the important organs, it was enough to firmly plant the spear into the flesh of the monster.

It tried to shrug Felix off, but he managed to hold on long enough for his Spell to be finished, and a strong current of lightning struck his blade.

Following the easiest path, the electricity poured into the blade, and ended up into the insides of the boar as it was fried from the inside. Moreover, the current was continuous as the boar shook from the shock.

This went on for five seconds before the Spell finally ran out, and there was no more electricity. But it didn't matter, as the boar was already dead.

Felix saw several level up notifications pop up, but he dismissed them as he took Skera out of the dead boar and rushed toward the other two.

In these five seconds, the one who had injured its fellow boar had managed to get back on its feet, but the second one seemed to find more difficulty in doing so as it struggled to get back to its feet.

Smelling the opportunity, Felix conjured yet another spell, this time forming a Fireball that flew straight toward the fallen boar, smashing into its side.

The explosion obscured Felix's vision, but he assumed it wouldn't get up fast enough as he rushed at the other one, who had already started rushing his way.

Using the exact same tactic as the last one, Felix killed this one quite easily. As for the last three, they hadn't managed to get back up from their injuries in the end as Felix finished them quickly, using three more spells just to be quick.

As he finished the last monster, Felix looked at his MP, and he was at 822/1000. It was more than acceptable, considering he had just killed 5 monsters around Level 40 and 10 players around Level 30.

Felix still had several notifications to take care of, but first he decided to search one of the dead players. However, he did not find any item that would have allowed them to make the monsters to ignore them.

Felix could have searched the others, but he didn't want to be ambushed by their reinforcements, so he decided to walk off in a random direction.

But barely a hundred meters away from the fight, Felix spotted another Blue Light squad, moving in his direction.

And due to the way the terrain was arranged, if he saw them, then they saw him, so without wasting a second, he bolted in their direction. He saw one of them take out a communication token, so he knew he had to be fast.

And fast he was.

Not leaving them a second to prepare, he broke their formation by leaping above the tanks in front, then using nothing but his martial skills to slaughter the players.

They were elite players of Blue Light, a First Tier Guild, so they were all at least moderately skilled in fighting. However, Felix had been training with Cailin, a Lord Rank NPC, for the past week, and compared to her, they looked as slow as snails and as skilled as children.

Felix received another level up notification in the middle of his killing spree, and since it didn't look like he was going to have some peace yet, he directly sent a look to his Status the moment he finished the last player of this group.

Felix felt a smile come to his lips as he read his MP. His absurd Mana Regeneration was showing, as he recovered 1 MP every four seconds.

Of course, what truly made him happy was his level ups. Of course, he was killing monsters and players of a vastly superior level, so the rapid levels were to be expected.

After a quick bout of thinking, Felix decided not to place any of his AP into his magical stats as it wouldn't really bring him much of a substantial boost, but instead put all 25 of them into his Agility, pushing it to 52.

Then, as he closed his Status Screen, he saw another group of Blue Light players coming his way, and he decided to test his new Agility on them.
