- Unlucky Visit

Shea's transformation was a lot smoother. However, it took a very long time because she underwent a Sloth Daemon Transformation.

In other words, she just needed to stay completely still to gain enough experience for her transformation.

After a grueling 9 hours, Shea was finally able to complete her form.

Zex proceeded with giving her a True Name and transmitted the Anima Control processes.

Shea was a typical ranger. However, her best ability was her lack of presence and talent in positioning.

Because it was already into the dead of night, Zex decided to push Dhana's transformation to the next day.

However, in the morning, an unexpected visitor arrived.

Zex took off his clothes, reshaped his form into Drago's, and changed into proper attire.

Just like how Octopi can mimic colors and shapes to blend in via their control over their muscles, practitioners of the lifeblood system could alter their forms by will or by certain triggers using the same principle. This is how Vampires could change their forms and appearances as Werewolves change forms involuntarily through full-moons. For higher beings like Demons, Angels, and Dragons, their blood allows them to take different forms of their choosing.

After Zex's ascension, the Anima in his body was around ten times stronger than Troy and Shea's. This allows him to perform extraordinary feats even when compared to other mortal races.

In the study, a woman was sitting on a chair in front of Drago's table.

This woman had black wavy hair, deep dark eyes, and wore white holy robes of a unique design.

Upon seeing Zex enter the room, the woman stood up and made a formal greeting.

Zex returned the greeting as he asked her to have a seat before taking a seat himself.

"To what do I owe the pleasure of meeting you today, your holiness?" Zex slightly smiled as he began the conversation formally. Although Drago was stoic, he was still a noble and grew up around nobility. He did not forget his manners even when he spent most of his life on the battlefield.

Zex, on the other hand, hated such a custom even in his previous life but had no choice in the matter. Being rude to a fellow noble would not do him any good.

"You flatter me, good sir. On the contrary, I apologize for visiting unannounced." The woman said.

This woman went by the name Aleyah Furlise Vei Dotor, 2nd daughter of the current head of the Vei Dotor family, one of the four vineyard families.

Not taking the path of aristocracy, Aleyah took an oath to serve the Church of Selephesia as a Faithkeeper, one of the Church's special military forces, handling various tasks that are not for the public to know about.

Her being in the Grussiva mansion, it was clear that it was for an investigation.

After a very brief exchange of pleasantries, the air in the room turned serious as Aleyah finally stated her purpose.

"I heard that your goddaughter disappeared, Dhana was it?"

Zex put up a surprised expression and stood up angrily. "When?"

Aleyah was startled at Zex's reaction.

"Farlou!" Zex shouted in anger.

Seconds later, Farlou opened the door and bowed. "My lord."

"Where is Dhana?" Zex asked roughly.

Aleyah remained silent. Confused about what was happening.

"My lord. Miss Dhana is in the garden tending to the flowers. Shall I call her here?" Farlou asked with a straight face.

At these words, Aleyah's eyes widened.

"Yes. Quickly!" Zex said as he remained standing, seemingly nervous.

"Where did you hear this?" He said as he turned his attention to Aleyah.

"Uh... Uhm... I..." Aleyah was trailing off, her mind going blank at the situation. She genuinely expected an entirely different reaction. She already went to the fortress and investigated the traces. She deduced that Dhana should be in a bad condition right now.

This all worsened as just a few minutes later, Dhana, who was in pristine condition if not for the dirt stains on her dress, entered the room.

"What is it this time? You don't want me to return to the flower shop! Now I can't tend to the flowers in the mansion?"

It would seem like... A wild Dhana appeared.

"Ah...Errr..." Zex wore a confused and apologetic face as he glared at Aleyah who had her eyes widen in shock. "You better have an explanation for this!"

Aleyah almost fainted from the pressure Zex was giving off and the shattering of her knowledge of events. 'What is going on?'

"I'm sorry Dhana, I-I made a mistake. You can return to tending to the flowers." Zex wore an awkward smile.

"Make up your mind! Sheesh!! Dhana said as she stormed out of the room.

Zex sighed as he sat down once again.

"You have some explaining to do." He said with a rather annoyed face to the trembling Aleyah who looked like a possum facing a lion.
