Chapter 34: And Then I Didn't
"Ricardo, Viola, George and Terrance. These are the four that will continue on this journey."
Sammy couldn't believe her ears. Her name hadn't been called. What was going on? Everyone in the room seemed to be equally shocked. After winning every challenge, how could she not have made the cut?
"What the h..." Ricardo whispered but his words were cut short when Mrs. Haines spoke.
"Samantha Jackson, please do come with me to my office."
Sammy felt her heart drop. Was the amount of oxygen in the room suddenly scarce?
She didn't know how or where she got the strength to stand up and follow Mrs. Haines to her office. Every eye in the room followed her as she walked across the boardroom.
"Close the door," Mrs. Haines told her as they got into an office that smelled like sandalwood. In the corner of the room was incense burning and sending the scent across the office.
