Chapter 2

"Oh him!? I've rejected his advances severally, I don't know what he still wants from me" Amelia replied. Leah chuckled "But he keeps coming here every day because of you, and right now he's staring at you", Leah said showing her to the guy, who was staring at her.

"I didn't ask him to come here every day, I already said no to him", Amelia replied unbothered. "just give him a chance Amelia, you never can tell", Leah said trying to convince her. "Give him a chance?? Wasn't that what got me here in the first place? Please I don't want anything to do with any man," Amelia responded.

Leah continued, "Is it because you are already falling for the mysterious guy from the club?, Don't tell me you are already falling" she said with excitement written all over her face. "Who? Him? No way, I don't even know him, not sure I remember how he looks, and I'm just trying to be careful" Amelia said in defense. Amelia dismissed the topic as she doesn't want to admit her growing feelings for the guy from the club.

Haunted by the memories of that night, Ethan could no longer dismiss his thoughts, he went back to the club severally for weeks but she never came back, he decided to hire a private investigator to look her giving her all the details he could remember about her.

It was a busy day at the coffee shop one afternoon, Amelia encountered a rude customer trying to take to harass her, this led to a heated argument, in anger the guy held her hand in a tight grip when she threatened to walk away, Amelia struggled with him pleading with him to stop, just as the tension escalated, a guy came in to intervene releasing Amelia's hand from the guy's grip. This created a scene and the rude guy was sent out of the shop, the guy who saved Amelia was the same guy she had refused to go out with.

"Are you alright?" Levi asked,

"Yes I am, thank you for helping me", Amelia said nodding with a smile, "No need to thank me, I couldn't bear watching that guy do that to you" Levi replied.

"No, that was really nice of you, thank you, Is there anything I can do to repay you for your kindness?" Amelia asked with a smile. Levi continued, "Well, you're welcome; it's fine, there's really no need for that, but if you insist you could start by agreeing to go on a date with me". A light smile formed on Amelia's face as she knew that was what he would say, "Okay, if that's what you want, just one date, that's all".

Levi's face brightened up with a smile, he stressed out his hands to Amelia," sure, thank you, my name is Levi by the way", she shook his hand with a faint smile, "My name is Amelia, nice to meet you".

A few days later, Amelia went on a date with Levi, they bonded and got to know each other, Amelia found out that he was a great guy, but she still didn't want anything serious as she was trying to focus on her mother's health, she was diagnosed with diabetes after her mother had another seizure the week before and a surgery was needed according to the doctors. She also didn't want to put her heart out there as she kept yearning for Ethan.

Months later, Amelia kept entertaining Levi by going on outings and dates with him, he summoned up the courage to ask her to be his girlfriend, but Amelia rejected him asking him to give her time as she had a lot on her plate, but that was just an excuse. Levi was patient with her; he didn't want to put too much pressure on her because he believed that she would come around.

After a long day at the office, Ethan was drained and exhausted from his busy schedules, from attending meetings, meeting up with deadline and his responsibilities as the CEO of Georges his company, he got home refreshed up had dinner. He laid in bed thinking about the closed wall he had met trying to find Amelia for the past few months; he was left frustrated as the private investigator he hired was not giving him any positive feedback, he wanted to find Amelia so bad, he had feel like a part of him was missing ever since that night. The weight of his exhaustion from work was evident in his body, soon enough he fell asleep.

A little boy on uniform was left in the middle of the road alone, with no sight of anybody anywhere, expect a dead man's body on the ground, the little boy's heart was racing fast as he was crying because he was so scared, and as he kept trying to wake the body up calling out his name but there was no answer.

From afar, the little boy could see an unknown masked man holding a knife walking towards his direction, fear gripped the boy as there was no one to save him, he ran as fast as he could in order for the man not to catch up with him, but he fell down and scrapped his knee, he looked back and still saw the man walking closer, this time faster, he tried his best to stand up, but his knee was badly injured. Before he knew it, the masked man caught up with him, the man gripped his hands and the little boy kept struggling with him, after a while the man's fingers reached out for his throat, tightly wrapping his fingers around it in an attempt to strangle him, the little boy struggled and gasp of air as his life was flashes before his eyes.
