#Chapter3
My brother George, helped me move into my mother's house all day. When mum saw her two children together helping each other out she was happy. From many problems growing up I guess this was a miracle.
Myself and George used to butt heads all the time and the main reason for this was because of our parent's divorce. It wasn't easy but when we matured and understood more about the problems they were having we started to appreciate each other a bit more.
We split up to live with one of our parents and that meant we lost our communication but when we got older we tried better to be in each other's lives.
/"Are you staying for dinner ?/" Mum asked George as he fixed my mirror to the wall. Mum stood at the door with an apron on. She smelt like garlic.
She was giving him a choice?
He turned to her /" of course ma, I have to leave at 7 though I have a date/" he said.
Even I was surprised at this. Since when does my brother go on dates?
/"Oh, lovely okay well I will just set the table up and you both come down/" I smiled at her as she turned and left.
The happiness she had because we were both here was something I missed seeing on my mom's face.
She left soon after and walked down to the kitchen.
/" what are you going to do about Jayson,/" George asked me after finishing up the mirror.
Jayson was downstairs napping.
I sighed /" I'm not sure I guess if he really wants him in his life I will let him see Jayson, I'm not going to stop Leon from seeing his son. Maybe I can let Leon have him on weekend's but I would want to be sure that Jay is safe/"
Leon doesn't have much experience with being a father so I knew that I had to be 100% that he can handle a baby.
/"He doesn't deserve that. If only he wore a condom like a real man you wouldn't be put in this situation/"
I glared at him.
/" don't talk like it was an accident. Jay is my son and he is the greatest gift so keep your thoughts to yourself /" I said angrily at him.
/" you're right I'm sorry,/" he says coming over to me and wrapping his arms around my shoulders.
The faint call of my mum from downstairs tore us apart and we headed down to eat as a family.
/" you can't blame yourself, honey, Leon was never the family man you wanted he was your first true love so it's going to be hard/" Mum says as I spoon feed my baby his favourite, mashed vegetables.
I ignored George's sarcastic cough.
/"That man only thinks about money and sex/" Mom whacked George for saying that.
He just continued to eat.
/"It's true, at least now you can finally start enjoying life and living for you,/" he said.
Mums eyes perked up. /" oh darling that's true you don't have to worry about little jay it'll give me the chance to spend time with my first grandbaby/"
I instantly felt guilty because I didn't let mum see jay that often.
/" don't look at me like that /" George says to mum. Since George is 5 years older than me we all expected him to be the first one with a baby.
But the boy is picky.
/" speaking of babies, who's this date with tonight,/" I asked him.
/" how the hell is that related/" he blurted as he took a drink.
I smiled /" well son/" my mum starts to say only to be glared at by her son.
/" it's one date. I'm not thinking about babies till much later/" he says which doesn't go down well with mom.
The woman wants 4 grandchildren by the time she's 60. Call it desperate.
/" you don't want to be like my brother George, being old with children isn't all great/" mum explains to him. We've only heard this story ten times.
Great.
/" well would you look at the time,/" he said looking at his phone showing that it was nearly seven.
Time for his hot date.
Mum reluctant said goodbye, holding onto George for extra long. She came back down and sat with me. My boy showed her his gums and laughed which instantly cheered her up.
He seems to always lighten the mood. Even when Leon would come home tired and pissed off Jayson would recognise this.
Leon didn't hate him but he just wasn't home long enough to create a real bond with him.
/" have you started writing again/" mum asked me when we were left alone.
I hadn't really thought about my writing not since Jay was born.
I wrote my first book in university after working at an event and meeting a old man who had an amazing story that needed to be told.
I never wanted to be a big writer I just wanted to share this man's story.
/" honestly I haven't had the time/"
She must understand that. She sighed /" from a young age you had such high expectations big dreams I struggle to believe that one man could stop all of this/"
It was more that she had dreams for me. My first successful book brought in a lot of money and that only influenced my passion for my future career.
/" I won't blame it all on Leon if we're being honest, he was probably the one who wanted me to do more. But he was so busy with his own success he didn't have the time to worry about me/" I told her.
My hatred for him is strong because of what he's done to our family but i won't stoop low and blame him. It's not his job to create opportunities for me.
/" he was always hungry for success/" she said picking up our plates and headed to the kitchen.
Don't I know it.
I busied myself with Jayson feeding him and preparing him for the evening.
/"Can I/" mum said coming up to us. I had just lifted him in my arms to take him over to the bath.
I smiled. /"Of course, just be careful he's a mover/" I said handing him over.
She rolled her eyes at me. /" I bathed both you and your brother for years I can handle this little guy/" well don't say I didn't warn you.
This gave me some time to relax. I poured myself a glass of wine from mums special cabinet.
My phone was still blowing up. The countless messages and calls from Leon.
15 missed calls from Leon
