"Ermm…I'll go make breakfast. Please join us." Alyce asserted, to clear the thick air.
"No need, I'm leaving."
Hearing Alexander's words, her mood instantly turned dull.
"Hey, I won't let you leave without eating okay."
Just when Alexander stood to go, he was grabbed by Ethan.
"..."
"I'm the doctor here, it's not advisible for a man to starve to work. Especially when you have a...A pretty young lady who knows how to cook." Ethan jested.
"Spare me your nonsense." Alexander's warning voice reverberated.
"Fine, fine. But you must atleast have a bite okay."
Sending a murderous stare his way, Alexander had no choice but to give in to Ethan's disturbance.
With reluctance, he strolled to the dinning room with Ethan following behind with a smirk gracing his sexy face.
"What are you waiting for? we are starving." Throwing a look at Alyce, he teasingly reminded her.
…
The breakfast was an uncomfortable one for Alyce.
Not unusual, Alexander had been as quiet as always. But having another attendant present was another thing, coupled with the escapade of what transpired earlier during the check-up. She still felt wary of him.
Luckily, it was fast.
Without completing his meal, Ethan stood and said he was leaving.
First she thought he was really going to leave her alone with Ethan still around. But to her relief, he came back holding Ethan by the collar and dragging him along.
"Hey! Hey bro!"
Alyce giggled hiddenly while covering her lips, avoiding being seen by him as she laughed to her heart contents when they finally were away.
But she didn't fail to catch that warning glint in his eyes as he looked at her while leaving. She knew it wasn't because she was laughing at them. She totally understood and read clearly what it meant. "Do not misbehave!" They seem to echoe repeatedly in her head.
So mysterious the way she could spell the authority in his eyes. She shivered in fright. "Scary!" She whispered to herself. Shrugging her shoulders, she went back to her meal.
With the loud bang of the car door, the two men were seated in the car ready to go. Upon the start of the engine, Alex began.
"What do you think?"
"Huh?"
"Her." Just that one word alone, got Ethan understanding what he meant.
Ethan was silent for a minute.
"Do you think….. She's honest?" Alexander inquired his opinion.
"If you doubt her that much then why do you believe her?" The once playful and teasing contenance had no trace that it was ever there. Seated right now was an Ethan with a serious expression, akin to Alexander's. As if they had a problem with smiling.
This question brought Alexander to complete silence, he just focused on the wheel as if he didn't hear a word, but Ethan knew, he heard it well enough.
"The is no need to think about this now, what's done is done…. But if you still have some doubts then be cautious." Ethan gave his thoughts on the matter.
"What do you plan to do with her anyway?" He added.
Alexander directed a look at him for some seconds before withdrawing his attention back. "I don't know." Simple and curt came his reply.
"That's not a thing Alexander Luen would say." Ethan hinted with a daring smirk.
Alexander completely ignored him and glued his attention on the way, leaving the reply for later.
"I'll drop you off at the hospital."
"Don't bother, the's a hotel ahead, I have an appointment."
"Of course, you have an appointment." With a stealth voice, he mentioned, being aware of the kind of 'Appointment' he meant.
"Come on man, you have to let out some steam once in a while. I just came back from a trip last night and I was immediately called by you this morning. Of course I have to get refreshed." Ethan spoke deliriously.
"That's yours to deal with." Alexander was nonchalant about the whole thing.
"My friend, you are indeed going to be a one woman man." With a pat on Alexander's shoulder, Ethan said with a chuckle.
"Suit yourself." Leaving the conclusion to Ethan, Alexander zoomed off heading straight for his destination.
It was later in the day,
Alyce was bored and quite free, she had done all chores possible.
Only she knew the amount of strength it took her to restrain herself from roaming round the villa one more time.
Being who she is, she knew she would have given in to the devil already. But remembering the last stare she received from him, it made her shiver again just thinking about it. Yes, the devil doesn't bargain, but in this case, he has no choice.
With that decision, she willfully forced herself to get something done instead of busy around doing nothing but getting into trouble, profound trouble!
That was the last thing she wanted, she didn't want anything that will make him mad at her again. The last time was toturous, moreover, she didn't want anything that will make him want to push her away from him. The thought was somewhat maddening.
'What am I thinking? Gosh.' Alyce flunged her head sideways repeatedly, trying to get rid of the thought hanging on her mind right now. "I just…don't want him to fire me yet, I love my job, yes! I love my job." With this she smiled convincely, more to herself.
Just like that, she got the whole villa cleaned once again. "With this amount of energy, I must have been a hardworking person before." She smiled, talking to herself.
If only….just if only she could remember just a thing. Even if it was just blurry flashes that represents a meaning, she would gladly be happy about it.
This thought brought a turn of mood for her, 'Why do I so badly want to regain my memories.' Alyce couldn't help but ask herself mentally. Another thought hit her, making her cease what she was doing.
"What if….I regret it?"
