Crumbled Pieces
That was one huge blow of a word to say.
"There you go again." Alyce managed to let out after finally getting out of her dumbstruck state, gaining her composure back and trying not to look too affected by his joke. 'Of course it's joke.' Her mind whispered.
"Nice One there, almost got me" The underlying feel of uninterest was detected in her voice.
"I'm serious little peach."
He sounded so dead serious, having that enigmatic look in the deepness of his eyes and she could read right through it. Once again it made her have another episode of being dumbstrucked, twice in less than two minutes, She must have broken a record.
But yet again, it can't be real, just like before it most have to be a joke.
A roaring laughter erupted in the room, drawing her out of her reverie and shaking her back to reality.
"It worked, you thought I was serious." Ethan laughed so Mockingly at her, giving her a playful look.
Alyce who just regained control of her thoughts fumed outrageously, giving death stares she herself never knew she was capable of.
"If you could see yourself now little peach, you look…fierce." He smirked at her.
Walking over to the other side where he kept his medical kit, he picked up the items he needed and walked over to her again.
"Now back to business."
Alyce sat up straight and ready for the checkup. Apparently that's why he came, he couldn't help but annoy her first before getting straight to the point.
She kept a really stern and angry front Infront of him, not wanting more room for such joke again.
"You haven't been taking your meds on time, why is that?"
Alyce gave him a surprised glance before looking away.
"I…I I'm busy most of the time…"
"That's an excuse."
"Huh."
"Your boss gave you a time to rest considering your health and you've barely touched a broom in this Villa since then." He evaluated busily.
"Wow, you got great Intell there." Alyce rolled her eyes at him.
"Hey there little peach…"
"Don't call me that."
"I will, and you can't stop me." He smirked, giving her a wink.
The angry Alyce was already quite aware not to take it seriously again.
"Can I say something?" Alyce asked.
"Sure, go ahead."
"....You look too jovial for a doctor." She was quite hesitant at first but she went on it anyway.
Ethan smiled slightly, dropping back his stethoscope into its kit.
"You don't like it?" He asked her.
Alyce shrugged her shoulders. "You didn't hear it from my mouth."
He chuckled at her reply making her giggle too.
"You know this is the first time I've seen you change that expression of yours in my presence."
"Maybe it's because you are really annoying." Alyce replied.
"I know…. little peach." With that seductive glare he directed at her.
Her breath hitched for a second there.
He got her staring again, the sound of his voice when he called her 'Little peach' It was….
With an exhale, this time she made sure to snap out of it herself.
With a weird and awkward laughter she bellowed. "...There you go again."
He laughed, with that deep vibration echoing in the depths of his throat. It made it sound so sexy.
"And this is the first time I've seen you laugh like this." She said, focusedly gazing at him.
"What? You don't like it?" Quite amused he said with a chuckle.
"No, I think I do."
All movement paused. It was as damn quiet as if a ghost passed by, bringing a wave of silence along with it.
The atmosphere was getting weirder by the minute, the silence was maddening and awkward to the core.
"... Ah..I..I think it's hot in here." Alyce took it up to speak first.
Ethan felt like something was stuck in his throat finding it hard to swallow.
"Your fever might not be gone yet." He spoke while clearing his throat.
"Oh…I'll take my drugs on time from now on."
"That's good."
"Guys Aren't you done yet?"
The door was suddenly pushed open to reveal Nadira who was properly dressed neat.
She ran off to Ethan's side, holding him by his arm. "Hey you promised to drop me off remember?"
"Yeah, I get it."
"You guys are so annoying, first Alex and now you? You guys gave me attention before what changed?"
"What changed? Really Dira?"
Nadira became instantly quiet after Ethan's query.
"Oh, hi Alyce, how are you?"
"I am fine, good morning."
"Morning, hope you are feeling better now. He didn't bug you did he?" She gestured over to Ethan.
With a small glance at Ethan, Alyce shook her head in a negative response.
"That's good to hear. Alright we will see you later okay? Bye!"
"Wait, are you leaving?" Alyce called out.
Nadira stopped and turned around.
'Yes b*tch I'm leaving, you can have him for now but once back, I'll take back what's mine.'
"Yes, I'll be leaving now don't miss me too much okay, oh and take care of Alexander for me." With her usual vibrant smile, she walked out dragging Ethan along with her.

Once they were outside the villa,
"You shouldn't be doing this Nadira."
"Doing what?"
"You think I don't know what you are thinking about?"
She scoffed audibly.
"This isn't a warning Nadira, I swe@r to rip you apart if you dare repeat what you did five years ago. Don't you dare forget who I am Nadira."
"What's the problem actually? Is it because I want what's mine back?"
"Alex was never yours to begin with, and will never be. Get that into your thick skull."
"So even you too? Wow."
"But you guys used to love me, what…what changed….what happened?"
"Used to…used to Nadira. We used to but not anymore." He growled
"What changed? You f*ucked things up yourself. And you are asking what changed.
Look here woman, I want you to get as far away from Alexander as you can. If not…."
"If not what huh? You are supposed to be on my side, why?!" Instantly angered, Nadira shouted in frustration.
"If not…..I'll ruin you in this city Dira." He walked away raging with unquenched anger.
"What?"
Speechless, she couldn't help but stumble backwards in fear. This Ethan right now is the Ethan she dreaded to see.
They weren't like this five years ago. They were once a happy group of friends. Being the only female amongst them she was spoiled to bits.
Now look, look where it ended them because of one silly mistake she made. It all crumbled to dust leaving no remaining piece.
