Chapter 39

Chapter 39

She saw Cassius leaning into a woman as he sucked her blood and fucked her. He pulled her hands backward as he fucked her while she was screamed his name. Blood trailed down her pale skin as he continued to draw blood from her.

She felt anger and jealousy wash through her. Her hands clenched into fists as she continued to watch the scene before her. No matter how she tried to feel angry at him, she knew he had every right to fuck another woman. They were not a real couple. He had every right to have sex any woman. But the scene made her blood boil. She felt jealous; jealous that this wasn't her. But wasn't she the one who didn't want to have sex with him? Why was she now feeling jealous?

She clenched her hands into tight fists, feeling her nails dig into her skin. Not wanting to stay there any longer, she turned around and walked to her room. Her eyes fell on the wine jug, and she poured herself some. The taste was sweet, burning down her throat. Within minutes of drinking the wine, Anastasia couldn't think straight.

She sat down at the edge of the bed, drawing her knees closer to her chest as she stared at empty space. She took one sip, then two, three, until she started to feel dizzy. She heard a knock on her door and she stood up. She staggered towards the door, almost falling on the person who was standing there, but Cassius caught her. She wanted to push him away, but there was no strength in her.

"Done fucking her?" she slurred, taking another sip of wine. Cassius' jaw clenched in frustration. He stared at her, his eyes locked on hers for minutes, before speaking. "You're drunk, Anastasia. Let me take you to bed."

She pushed him away, her eyes flashing with anger. "Who is she? The woman you just fucked?" she demanded.

"Emily," he replied, his voice calm.

His words ignited a fire within her. She clenched the metal cup, her anger rising. "So you've finally taken her as your Mistress?" she spat. "Or perhaps a second wife?"

Cassius drew closer, his voice firm. "I'm not taking her as my wife or Mistress, Anastasia. You are my wife."

Her anger boiled over. "Yet you went ahead and fucked her," she hissed.

Cassius raised an eyebrow. "Do I smell jealousy in you?" he asked.

She sighed, confusion written on her face. Why was she feeling jealous? She didn't want to be here, didn't want to be his wife. "I'm not jealous," she insisted, avoiding his gaze.

She walked back to the bed, her steps unsteady, and sat down. Cassius followed, his eyes never leaving hers. He took the cup from her hand, placing it on the table before returning to her side.

"What happened to feeding yourself with blood from a bag?" she asked.

"It doesn't taste fresh like the one from a person's vein," he said. "Just like your's but I made a promise not to drink from you unless you asked me to."

She was quiet for some time before turning her head. He grabbed her, pressing his lips against her. He sucked her lips, sliding his tongue inside her mouth to savour every part of her.

As if realizing something, she pulled back with a look of disgust. Without saying anything, she crawled to her bed and she slept.

Cassius watched her for some time before returning to his room.

The next morning, she stepped out of the room. She felt a pounding headache from consuming too much wine last night. She hated herself for the kind of feeling she felt around Cassius. After last night, Anastasia wanted to tell him not to take blood from the girl anymore. But that would mean she's selfish as she didn't want him tasting her blood too. She didn't want him to fuck her either. She was tired of everything; tired of the new feelings she was having towards Cassius.

"Ms Ana," she turned around to see Maggie standing next to the woman Cassius had fucked last night. A deep scowl appeared on Anastasia's face. The woman was beautiful; with pale skin and long black hair that fell on her shoulder. The gown she was wearing was showing too much skin. Anastasia's eyes fell on the bite mark that Emily was proudly displaying.

"What do you want?" Anastasia asked, trying to sound calm but she was boiling with rage from inside. Emily approached her, Maggie following her behind with a smirk.

"I am Emily, daughter of Duke Ephraim," she introduced herself. "Very soon I will be sharing this castle with you. I will be sharing Cassius and everything you own." Emily was doing a good job masking her expression.

"Hmm…. The last time I checked, Cassius never mentioned he was taking a second wife," Anastasia said. "At least not so quick after we just got married."

"Really? Because it seems you are not doing your job in pleasing Cassius. Why would he consider me if you were sufficient? Perhaps you should ask yourself that question." Anastasia felt a rush of heat spread across her cheek.

"Cassius wouldn't—"

"Oh, he would," Emily smirked. "Cassius is a King, and you alone cannot satisfy him. He will desire more Mistresses, especially when his sexual needs are unmet."

Before Anastasia could speak up, she heard footsteps and raised her head to see Cassius.

"What's happening here?" He asked.

"Your highness," Emily bowed her head wearing, a soft expression. "I was just getting to know your wife."

Cassius didn't respond to her but instead he looked at Anastasia. "Are you alright?"

Anastasia frowned, turning around and she walked away.
